The Stonehill Inn is just a couple of buildings down the road, and on your left. You'll see the sign, easy enough. There'll be a few people there already, and it will fill up at night, of course. People just keep themselves to themselves, that's all. We don't like trouble, and people can be a bit nervous of strangers, if you understand what I mean. Best you head to the inn, I reckon. Elmar Barthen picks up a random object from his counter and begins to polish it, watching you and the others.
"Understood - I am sure we will meet again! Thank you for your help."
Nate heads out of the shop and meets back up with Sildar and Omnia.
"Well let's wait for the others and then head to the Inn. Omnia, did you notice anything out here with the people? The shopkeeper seemed weird about it."
"weird is about the right of it, very shaddey people keeping a wide berth but that's about it. Really feel there is something not right here just can't put my finger on it"
Ophirinn nods goodbye to the shopkeep and follows Nate out the store. "Perhaps, but I thing that what ever it is can wait till tomorrow. Let us head to the Inn he told us about for now."
OOC - It'll probably be best Nate if you don't us the money pot till it's divided up, only for keeping track of who is owed what. So I didn't add the two gold, just add them back to the pot.
Nate agrees with Omnia... "Creepy indeed" and then yes I believe we all head to the Inn together.
OOC: I have a good record of it, not to worry. I did it because Nate didn't have enough money to buy those rations and crowbar :) It's all good though I have the record of the purchase and I will definitely minus that from Nate's share once we split it up. I have also added back the two gold to the pot for your purchase. Here's what I have as the record so you all can see and keep me honest if I'm missing something. I'll add it all up once we are ready.
PARTY TREASURE - starting at GOBLIN CAVE and surrounding goblins.
Chest = 600 copper pieces, 110 silver pieces, two potion of healing, and a jade statuette of a frog with tiny golden orbs for eyes (40 gp) - SOLD FOR 30gp
Omnia, you find ten silver pieces on Yeemik; the other goblins have nothing.
Brom, you find enough food to form four sets of rations, as well as an additional 7 silver pieces that presumably belonged to the goblin.
The goblin has a small iron key, as well as 11 silver pieces and 16 copper pieces.
Brom, you find 23 copper pieces and 16 silver pieces on the two goblins, but nothing else of any interest.
50gp for delivering the cart to mr. barthen
minus 4gp for Nate (Barthens)
** Nate's purchase will be removed from Nate's portion of the total pot, not before the pot is split up, of course.
As a group, you make your way to the inn. You pass by Elmar Barthen's two helpers as they are moving the cart and its supplies behind the shop.
Moving down the street, you continue to see very few people about. After only a few buildings, you reach an open square space. To the right you see a small roofless shrine, with crumbling stone walls; beyond it is a similar open space but grassland rather than dirt. Beyond that is a pretty orchard. To your immediately left is the inn, clearly marked with a sign: 'Stonehill Inn'. The road continues past, heading south, and there's another road leading east.
Noting down these various sights in your memory, you nevertheless turn and enter the inn, with Sildar alongside you. Upon entering, you see a large common room with tables and chairs for around twenty people, though only a handful are currently occupied. Behind the bar stands a young man who calls a greeting as you enter. Good day to you friends, welcome to the Stonehill Inn. Please take a seat.
A couple of locals seated at a table look up, take note of the group, and turn back to their conversation; they don't look particularly friendly or particularly hostile. Behind the bar, an older woman stands pouring some ale, which she hands to a younger woman to bring to another table with perhaps three locals seated.
There is space to sit at the bar, and several tables where the five of you could sit. What would you like to do?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Brom would go up to the bar and engage the older woman with a friendly greet "good day ma'am, one Ale" he said simply before taking a seat at the bar "you seem well connected and down to earth" he started "is there anything you can tell me about that shrine i saw on my way in? The one without a roof" Brom had taken an interest in the old structure and it was rare to see a place of prayer fall into such disuse.
Brom, the woman seems apprehensive as you stride over. She responds, Well, now, that's a greeting and then some.Down to earth, am I? You hear that Toblen? I'm 'down to earth'. She grins at the innkeeper, who answers: I've always thought so, my love.
She turns back to you Brom, starts to pour the ale. The shrine, is it? Did you take a look inside? Sister Garaele is probably still there at this hour, and can tell you more of the history. It's a shrine to Tymora, and Garaele won't hear of any repairs, she says it must remain exactly as it is. It's a bit chilly in winter, but nice enough at this time of year.
Brom gave a warm smile which was out of character for his brutish form but it was warm non the less. He placed a gold on the counter for the drink and her time "i see i was curious about the roof the rain must be a problem"
"Good day and well met!" Nate says to the man who greets them. He walks up to the bar and takes a seat.
"Is there any vacancy for the five of us to stay the night here? How much would it run us?"
Nate then motions Sildar to come over as well and leans in closer to the bar tender.
"Also - we are looking for Iarno Albrek... Mr. Barthen has told us that he was last seen heading to that old manor at the edge of town. Hasn't been seen since. Might you know anything about this? We have heard some concerning news about the manor and was wondering if you had any other information about it."
Nate pretends to know something about the Manor in hopes that the barkeep will tell us info since we "already know about it".
Toblen Stonehill the innkeeper seems pleased to be doing some unexpected business. We have six rooms, and no guests at the moment, so you are very welcome to take five of them. The cost is a total of twenty-five silver, five per room for a night. That includes a light breakfast, but not this evening's meal. If you'd like to eat tonight, that will be three silver per person.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

OOC: Are you guys ok if we spend a total of 40 silver from our pot to cover the rooms as well as the evening meal? (DM 40sp is correct, yes?) Then maybe I'll split this all up afterwards before we head out in the morning.
Best stay away from the manor, son. Not much to see up there most likely, but there could be dangers; most folk in town steer clear.
Toblen Stonehill greets Sildar, and they engage in small talk for a while. Sildar asks for the location of the Townmaster's Hall, and receives it from Toblen. However, he seems happy to relax in the inn, and sits at one of the tables, inviting you all to join him
Brom would sit with Sildar after collecting his drink from Toblen's wife with a nod and another smile.
Im fine with you using the pool for lodging, its for the team any way, just be sure that once we divide between us the party funds gets a share that way we always have some)
Sildar invites you to sit and talk, and the afternoon passes into evening. The common room begins to fill up. You notice a few more people who might be of interest; an old, grizzled farmer who sits with the innkeeper's wife and seems to be complaining about something; a group of men who look like they might be miners; a young woman who sits and chats with the younger employee; from time to time a young boy runs out from the back of the inn to talk to the innkeeper or his wife; it seems he is their son.
You can introduce yourself to any or all of these people, or speak to Sildar, or head out into town to explore or find something. You can also head back to Barthen's to finish your shopping. Finally, when you are ready, you can turn in for the night.
"Here you go. And thanks for the advice about the manor. Unfortunately we won't be heeding that advice. We have a friend who was last seen there, and we will be going there tomorrow at dawn.... he's with the Lords' Alliance."
Nate also will say this quite loudly, almost awkwardly loud as to make sure that the others around him hear what they are talking about (namely the grizzled farmer, the innkeeper's wife, and the two younger women and the kid if the timing works when he's running into the bar) to see if any of them pipe up. Same with the miners if they are close enough.
If not, Nate will just go and sit with Sildar and eat and chat idly until bedtime.
