(OOC: If anyone wishes to attack the Redbrands and attempt to surprise them, they may wish to do so immediately. If the Redbrands enter the taphouse and notice unfamiliar, armed strangers, they may be alerted to the threat and you will lose the surprise factor. On the other hand, if you wish to talk to them or attempt a deception of some kind, that's up to you. Let me know how you'd like to proceed.)
Making himself visible Delmon will call out, "Friends, welcome, welcome. Come, sit! First rounds on me, yeah?" He stands up from his seat and gestures to the seats around his table. "Please, please join me. I have much to discuss."
OOC: I'm trying to distract them from my hidden allies. Every time one of them tries to survey the room I'd be trying to catch their attention so they focus only on me. Would you like me to roll something for this? If so, let me know.
Delmon, please roll a Deception check, at disadvantage. The Redbrands are automatically suspicious of and hostile towards strangers, especially those wearing armour.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Barbarians are pretty intimidating even without armour, but I'll take the disadvantage away - so you rolled a 14, for a total of 17.
The Redbrand frowns, looks unhappy to see strangers, but steps into the taphouse. We don't like strangers in this town, he says a little warily. He looks around the bar: Perception6 but doesn't seem to notice anything that alarms him too much.
Ophirinn will remain silent, with his back still to the entrance for the time-being. He already know the Redbrands don't like non-human folk, and wouldn't want to make the situation going less smoothly because of it.
As the Redbrand leader steps, the remaining three red-cloaked figures follow him, looking unhappy at the sight of others in their preferred drinking hole. Grista, one calls. Grista, where the hell are you? Get us ale, and quick about it!
The leader, upon further inspection of the room, seems to notice Leo attempting to hide behind the furniture. Hey, you. What are you doing there?
He looks annoyed; they are all starting to look suspicious. The atmosphere is getting very tense.

(OOC I won't be available until this afternoon so here is my initiative roll: 18 and Delmon will take his first turn to equip his maul, and run to the nearest threat. He is going to Rage on his second turn. I'll be back this afternoon.)
RatNate runs up behind the Redbrands and follows them into the taphouse, still remaining unseen, basically nestled just inside the door against the wall or table or something where they cannot see the Rat. He waits to see what happens...
(OOC: It's a hard one, as to whether they're surprised or not. It did sort of make sense to get them all into the taphouse, rather than surprise them at the bottleneck of the door. However, that gave them time to look around, see a whole bunch of strangers, and get nervous. I'll say that the two Redbrands in front are not surprised, and the two in the rear are (because they didn't see so much). It would be nice, after the fight, for your characters to discuss - in character - whether they thought the ambush worked well, and what they might do to improve it in future.)
Everyone roll initiative please, unless you've already done so. :)
Leo, both your fist and your knee miss, and manage to connect with the wooden pillar just to the side of the Redbrand who spotted you. It hurts a bit, but nothing that does actual damage. The pillar, and by extension the roof, seem to hold firm.
Delmon pushes back his seat as he stands up, grabs his maul that was leaning on the table with his left hand as he hefts it over to his right. "Well, here I was offering you a free drink, too bad you didn't take it!"
Move: 15ft (half speed from standing up) moving to the big, tall red brand.
Action: Ready my weapon
OOC: I can't remember what action it takes to ready a weapon. Let me know if I can attack please. I do not want to rage.

Does it help that I'm not wearing armor? Hahaha.
I forgot to add my modifier of +3. I would be at a total of 12 then.
