Delmon looks at the strange pattern of footprints. "I don't know what to make of this, did they float over?" He moves into the hallway and inspects the foot prints in an attempt to identify what left them behind (humanoid, animal). Survival21 He then shrugs and looks back at the group, "If this is what you planned to do then lets press on, yes?" Delmon begins to move deeper into the hallway, heading to the door on the opposite side.
Leo will gently attempt to take Delmon to the side, "Do you have any idea what made these tracks? I do not want to be caught by something unawares. There is a clear evil emanating from this place. I want to be ready when the time comes."
is there any loose stones anywhere? anything Brom can throw into the stretch of 30ft wheres theres no footprints? if not he would throw his spear and see if a trap triggers.
Brom, you find a loose stone back in the crypt, and toss it ahead of you. It's quite a large piece of loose masonry, and fairly heavy, so it makes a solid thud as it hits the ground and... keeps falling. A section of the floor collapses , revealing a pit trap lying below. It's clear that wooden sticks were used to hold the flagstones in place, covered in dust, and that you would have fallen in had you attempted to walk across.
The pit is twenty feet deep, and has smooth sides, difficult to climb. At the side of the pit is a narrow ledge; it would be difficult to get past the pit that way without high dexterity.
Brom, you look at the pit and you are confident that you could jump it easily, but you're unsure of your companions.
(The rules for jumping are basically that if you have a decent run up, which in this case you do, you can jump as many feet as your strength score. The pit is ten feet across, so anyone with 10 STR can make the jump. If you don't, then you will need to think of an alternative.)
Delmon, luckily Brom exposes the trap before you fall into it. The tracks are from a humanoid, not too heavy, wearing boots, but fairly light ones. You can guess that it was a human or perhaps half-elf or elf from the size, definitely not a halfling, gnome or dwarf.
Nate, as you look down, you don't notice anything special. The pit is about twenty feet deep, obviously artificial, with relatively smooth walls that would be difficult, but not impossible, to climb. There's a bit of debris at the bottom, but no signs of additional traps or any evidence that anyone else has fallen down here in the past.
"Well, I'm glad I didn't fall into that.." Delmon says as he approaches the edge of the pit. "Hmm. Perhaps for those of you who cannot easily jump across, I can lower a rope to allow you to climb down carefully, then I can jump to the other side and you can climb back up using the same method. Sound good?" Delmon starts unraveling his rope and lowers one end down into the pit. Once those who could not make the jump are lowered, he will jump across (with the rope) and lower it again from the other end. "Well, that wasn't so bad, thanks to you Brom. I owe you one. Now, lets press on." Delmon begins moving once again further down the hall toward the door.
OOC: If I need more strength to lower people down I'll ask for assistance from those who can make the jump. With all of us grabbing the rope I think we should be okay.
With the method that Delmon proposes, and with no need to hurry, you are all able to cross the pit successfully, either jumping or climbing down and back up again.
You are all standing on the far side of the hall; up ahead, the corridor ends, but there is a closed door to the right, with footprints leading out through it.
Brom would have been the last to jump across the pit fall "not this time" he thought to himself and chuckled as the team went on he took too behind the group as to not interfere with the group's sneaking.
Leo, you are not as quiet as you hoped as you step through the door, but you're not aware of anyone listening. On the other side, you see a large room with a water-filled cistern along one side. It appears to be a cellar; there are crates and barrels stacked against the walls. There are steps leading up to a door to your left, and an open door to your right that appears to lead to a smaller room, though you can't make it out clearly from here.
The footprints lead to the cistern, and appear to have stopped there and moved around, and then lead up the steps. However, there is less dirt and dust in this room; it looks likely that the maker of the footprints headed up to the door, but it's not completely certain.
He creeps up to the crates and barrels and checks to see if there are any distinguishing marks / features / symbols on them that might denote who they belong to or what they hold.
Leo, the barrels are old but still secure. Most are empty; you open one that is not, and find some dried fruit, possibly still edible though it would be a gamble. But you've no idea where they're from and you find no distinguishing marks.
You look and listen, but don't detect any signs of movement, Delmon watching from the doorway.
Nate watches as the others jump the pit. He follows Leo's lead and follows him over to the barrels. He will go and check out the door that was open and have a better look in the smaller room to see what/who might be in there.
Nate, you look in on a small barracks or sleeping area; there are two bunks, and a few items - tankards, plates, bits of half-eaten bread - lying around. No sign of anyone at the moment though, and no other exit from this room. You do see more of the same barrels as the previous room.

Leo crouches down and examines the prints, searching his memory for any similar prints he has previously come across.

Bromduhr, Goliath Fighter.

"WOAH!" Nate jumps back as the floor collapses and reveals the pit. "Delmon that was a close one!"
Nate will walk to the edge and take a look down into the pit from above to see if he can see anything interesting.

Not sure why it keeps doing that... sorry. 15

"I have a bad feeling about this... but I think we should all be able to jump this."
Nate will step back a few steps, and then jump across the pit (STR 13), waiting on the other side for his companions.
Nate, you clear the pit with ease.
"Well, I'm glad I didn't fall into that.. " Delmon says as he approaches the edge of the pit. "Hmm. "I'll check ahead" he whispers to the rest of the group.
Leo will attempt to open the door and creep through.

Delmon patiently waits by the door for any signal from Leo to move forward, leaning on the wall with his maul as support under his right arm.
