Arxius eats her rations, looking up towards the ridge. Wondering if she has brought this on them because she entered the stone circle. "We need to move through this area as quickly as possible."
"Based on the dream or premonition we all shared, I think avoiding that creature is in our best interest..." Rees said, eating some of her rations and storing the rest in her pocket for later.
Was the last time we heard from the creature, what was it's apparent position?
What does leaving the path and trying to skirt the ridge entail? Is it climb checks or difficult terrain or just a longer way around.
Up on the ridge ahead of you to the northeast.. just like in the dream. Leaving the path would just entail difficult terrain, it could prove useful or detrimental.. but remember this is this creatures home.
If we end up encountering that thing for real, I would at least prefer to do it on the sure footing of a fairly well-traveled path instead of a slippery, rocky slope with unsure footing. I say we follow the path, try to make good speed.
Let's leave some food here on the trail. Maybe it's hungry and will be satisfied with that.

"Fiction is the lie through which we tell the truth." A Camus
As you all try to go back to sleep the night is filled with the sounds of the monster making it quite hard to fall asleep. It does not approach the camp, but seems to be dogging or goading your little band. Morning rises and promises a warm day ahead. As you break your fast you realize the road you are following leads right under the ridge where the noises came from the previous night...
The description "making it hard to fall asleep" isn't 100% clear whether or not long rest was achieved - assuming the dream encounter was not actual damage and resource usage. If the dream encounter didn't happen, I'm at full resources, even if we don't technically complete the long rest.
Fen will have to clarify if we have any exhaustion if we technically didn't get a complete long rest.

I'm going to say you each have one point of exhaustion.. that was a crazy nightmare coupled with perhaps the actual entity that caused the dream haunting the area around your camp would make for a restless rest of the night for anyone.
Shake is looking around like a caged rat, not really paying attention to the others. "I agree. Let's get out of here. Best not to dally. Good things come to those who get going. The early owl catches the..." He gulps and still looking furtively around himself, gets up on his horse. "No time like the present."
You quickly pack up and make haste heading along the road continuing your journey northeast. Just over a mile and you are near the high rocky outcropping where the manticore in your dream attacked you from. You do not immediately hear or see anything as you approach. You continue you on leery of what might happen.
I need one person to make a survival check please as you continue along the path.
Survival: 14 (assuming disadvantage because of the exhaustion)
Indeed.
As you continue along the path you gain some elevation and become hemmed in on both sides by large rocky outcroppings. You begin to hear all three calls again. They grow closer, but all seem to be coming from different directions... They continue to dog you as you move forward...
About 15 minutes go by and you see the path opens up again to similar terrain as you have been traveling on (rocky, but more open). You are about to breath a sigh of relief when the noises suddenly stop. Then extremely loud all at once. You pause and look up at the the outcroppings overhead and see nothing, then return your eyes to the path and there it is somehow standing right before you blocking the path just a few hundred feet ahead... a chimera... with the head of a wolf, an owl, and a horse....
Eldenser? Any experience with these kinds of creatures? Do you know if such creatures have intelligence? Can they be reasoned with?
"Hrrmm.. it looks like some sort of Chimera, yes... they were created by a greater demon named Demogorgon for his pleasure... hrmm.. they like to toy with their prey, cruel creatures really. But, they also like do like food and treasure... this one seems different than others I have observed. It's heads aren't that of a typical Chimera are they now? Perhaps it is different in nature too.. though not likely I would say."

so are we as a group thinking leaving now, and not finishing out rest is best?
