El eyes the cards for a moment, then removes the mail armour from the guard at the tower. El slips into it with ease as it is clearly a size too big, shrugging they call out to the rest of the group, "Someone get the other two, I have a feeling we'll need it."
Ront turns to Tobias “Sure, little Orc. You have weapon. Real Orc doesn’t need it anyway”
Shuushar walks out of the prison cell with Stoll in his hands, Topsy and Turvy following wearily behind him. “Fought wellll you allll did. Thankfulll we are. Feellling quite usellless I am...”
The rest of the group gathers around. JimJar turns to Shishakli “I’ll bet you 2 gold that all of your gear is in that guard tower. What do you say? Want to make a wager?”
Gnarls reaches up to grab the handle of the door. With a bit of gentle persuasion, the door slowly swings open with a creek. The room is dark inside. A small wooden table sits in the centre with two chairs sat tucked underneath. There are 2 pewter tankards on the table along with an extinguished candle and a small flint box. 3 large barrels are stacked along one wall and there is a small wooden ladder on another.
(Unless there are two others that could use the other two chainshirts...)
Tobias gathers the armor from the other two dead drow. Attempting to put one over his head proves to be fruitless, as the drow are quite a bit smaller than the half-orc. He purses his lips and, after a moment of thought, puts an arm through each of the neck of the chainshirts. "Hmm... I guess this will work for now," he says not too sure.
He gives a nod to Ront. "Thanks," and takes the pipe.
Seeing the interesting way the half-orc is wearing the armour El tries not to laugh, failing for the most part to cover it up and ends up snorting quietly while making an assortment of faces. El enters the room and fumbles with the flint box in an attempt to light the candle in the low light (if needed 17)
"Have to say, I was expecting more. We should keep moving until we clear this outpost. It won't take them long to notice our escape." Gnarls says, as he looks in the tankards and glances at the ladder, seeing if it leads somewhere or is just a movable ladder.
If there is anything in the tankard, Gnarls will try and determine if it is poisonous or not (Flat D20 -- not sure what to roll 1)
(OOC - Investigation which I believe takes that Nat 1 down to a 0)
Gnarls dips a finger in the tankard and licks the liquid off. It’s wet and slightly warm but the bad taste still in Gnarls’ mouth from the poison antidote given to him by Shoor earlier is still lingering. He can’t discern a taste. Looking above the ladder is a small trap door that is currently closed.
Considering it some more, Gnarls states "Well, I figure this is likely ale or the antidote to the Drow poison, with a small possibility of being actual poison. Here goes nothing!"
El, having just lit the candle, sniffs cautiously at one of the two tankards. They make a face "I'll pass thanks," then seeing Gnarls down the other tankard sighs "oh boy." They start climbing the ladder to test the trapdoor, seeing if it's either locked or unable to open due to something heavy on the other side.
OoC: El isn't investigating really, it's just pushing the trapdoor up and seeing if it moves (also looking to see if there's even a lock on it) but if I need a roll then 8
Gnarls begins drinking from the Tankard, after a few mouthfuls, it washes away the taste of the poison antidote and Gnarls tastes warm, flat ale. It's not pleasant but it's the nicest thing he has tasted in days. El climbs up 5 rungs of the ladder and slowly opens the trapdoor above to find a room that is the same size and shape as the room below. There is no light source in here and it's difficult for El to make any shapes out from on the ladder.
Cyndral attempts to usher any remaining stragglers into the guard tower, knowing the space will become rather cramped but feeling as though the party will be safer with a lockable door on either side of them until they're ready to move forward. As he continues to gesture them in, offering his flint shard to each in turn, he quietly calls up to El.
"Can you see anything up there? I can send you a light if you wish."
It’s a tight squeeze but you manage to usher everyone in. As he’s walking in, Buppido goes to Cyndral “I’ll have the shard. It will look good in my enemies chests!”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"A light would be wonderful, I'm just staring at darkness right now"El steps back down a rung or two to watch the others enter, doing a general check on everyone's wellbeing as they do so. As they scan for cuts and bruises they also attempt to gage the mood, whether it has improved or not.
Insight 15
OoC: This isn't to determine anything but emotions surface level and just below so if any NPC's are attempting to hide something this isn't contesting that though El might pick up on however they feel about it
Gnarls hands El the crossbow and 7 bolts. He has both swords at the ready but will give one to someone who's unarmed and asks for it.
The three guards that are still left in the open. They each have a chain shirt (Medium Armour) on.
Shishakli continues to search further on the guards and finds 4 gold pieces and 5 silver along with a pack of playing cards.

"D'ya think they took our gold and food? Gold is meh but hmmm I'd kill for something to eat..." El gestures to Gnarls, then to the door "After you,"
"I suspect you will have to before all is said and done!"
Gnarls will try and open the tower door.

The candlelight fills the small room. You can see the rough rock walls and floor.

"Seems like someone's private dining room. I don't think anyone but that priestess would have something like that..."
(DM: The barrels are stacked one on top of the other, or just three barrels up against the wall?)
The barrels are stacked horizontally. 2 on the bottom, 1 on the top in a triangle. There is nothing written on any of them.
