The spiders poison sinks into the unconscious warlocks veins as the bonfire in the room goes out. The snake beneath the skin on Verims face begins to wriggle slightly as if fighting the poison. Verim lies still on the ground unconscious but not dead. Perhaps someone is looking out for him after all.
Seeing Verim go down in front of him Gnarls goes into a furious fit of rage, his sword flying all over the place as he hacks and slashes at the eight legged creature. Cutting off two of the front legs to begin with before plunging both blades into the head of the beast which now lies there, it's legs still twitching as the muscles spasm.
Combat over but still remaining within initiative order with movement, actions etc. Due to the fact that Verim is down. Gnarls can still have movement for this round but has expended his action and bonus action.
"Damnit!" Tobias rushes to the fallen warlock. "I'm sorry and don't have any of my healing available. Just try to hang in there!"The cleric goes into triage mode to attempt to stabilize Verim.
Cyndral, seeing the cleric fumble without their spells, drops to his knees and starts doing his best to copy what Tobias is doing, a bit unsure of how to actually help but doing the best he can to try and keep Verim from slipping from them.
"Not just yet, new friend, you haven't even told us your story yet. No no no, you're not allowed to die until we see sunlight again. You're not dying in this terrible place." Without looking to anyone in particular, he then adds "None of you are."
OOC: Cyndral uses the Help action to give anyone else who makes a medicine check Advantage.
His rage ebbing, Gnarls filled with conflicting feelings. Act first, think later was how he lived; how the Uthgardt taught him to live. Face conflict head on! Now, however, for the first time his impetuousness and barbarian sense of immortality might have cost a new friend his life. Should he have been more patient? Could he have been more deadly in battle?
Remorse, worry, and self-doubt were things he had left behind many years ago when the Uthgardt took him. He was unsure how to handle their re-appearance.
"Can someone check down here? Perhaps thereis something down there to help him? Our belongings? Medicine?"
Understanding that not everyone is as good in the dark as he, Shishakli will peer down the trap door next to him, and then report back whatever he sees.
Shishakli peers down into the dark room below. There is a large double bed down there, it has been made and there doesn’t appear to be anybody sleeping. There is a small table with two chairs around it and quite a large Zurkhwood chest. There is also another trap door on the room. Something that’s quite alarming as you look inside is another spider, this one is much smaller than the one that you’ve all just encountered. As you watch, this one too doesn’t seem to be moving.
When you make a death saving throw and roll a 1 on the d20, it counts as two failures. If you roll a 20 on the d20, you regain 1 hit point. Damage at 0 Hit Points. If you take any damage while you have 0 hit points, you suffer a death saving
With his remaining movement Shishakli makes his way down the ladder into the room. The still spider is about 3 ft. high and 3 ft. wide. Looking closer, Shishakli can see quite a big looking lock on the closed chest. There is a small side table next to the bed. On top of the bedside table sits a small silver-framed mirror and a small handheld shrine to Lolth that is carved of zurkhwood and bone, and inlaid with semiprecious stones. Sitting on the table are a variety of silken garments. There is a silver chain headdress set with small onyx stones and a drawstring bag.
As Verim lies unconscious, Tobias and Cyndral see his eyes flicker for a second, the glowing light that normally comes from them is dimmer than normal, the snake beneath his skin still wriggling.
Verim hears a voice within his head “Fight and stay strong”
El stands near Verim and the others a little helpless, despite their magic they know very little about medicine. Scared of making it worse they kneel down and gently touch Verim's head, "Stay strong my friend, I'll get you help as soon as I can."Then turning to Tobias and Cyndral, "keep him stable until I get back, I think I might have a way to save him."With that El runs out the door and back to the guard tower in search of the healing potion.
OoC: How far do they get? I counted about 80 feet using diagonals.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Knowing they need to get out of here fast, Gnarls will jump down into the room with Shishakli and and attempt to open the chest, hoping to find either their equipment or something to help Verrim. If locked, he'll attempt to smash it (Advantage on str checks, as he damaged an enemy last round so rage has not ended yet)

Telepathically to the group:
"Keep him alive!! Once he's stable we need to GO. There is a chest here we are trying to open. If our stuff isn't here we'll have to call it a loss and move"
El sprints out of the tower, looking over to their right they can see a number of Drow Guards and Elite Drow Guards, they’re still firing at the flying creatures above. A few Drow corpses lie on the ground alongside one of the insect-like creatures. El continues to run across the bridge. He can see a Drow wearing leather armour stood next to the guard tower with his crossbow drawn and El hears Sariths voice in his head “El, is that you? Answer or I’ll shoot, where is everyone else?”
Gnarls hurries down the ladder and with all of his rage attempts to break the chest in front of him. With an almighty crack, the chest begins to splinter slightly but the top is still not open. After disrupting the chest, there is a quiet sound of something moving very quickly as a small poison tipped dart shoots out of the top of the chest doing 0 piercing damage to Gnarls due to his rage (Gnarls also needs to do a DC13 CON Save or become poisoned )

Looking down Shishakli says to the group "it seems clear down there. There is an empty bed and a chest. Perhaps where this priestess called home?"
((Would I still have my movement to go down towards the spider? And maybe object interaction to pick it up?)) ((Which is how Shishakli died lol))
