Hef stumbles back and looks around the group. As the adrenaline fades, clarity comes. He hopes someone has an answer to the earlier question. He leans on the butt of his glaive, catching his breath.
Gwenant makes a small groan of pain as she stretches her wounded side. She'd had far worse, of course... but it still hurt. In spite of the pain, she chuckles at Renny. "What do you know! If only their bark was worse than their bite..."Gwenant takes a deep breath, then holds her hand up to the wound. It had been a little while since she'd done this, but she should be able to... a faint golden light flowed from her hand and into her wound, mending it swiftly. That was better. "So, anyone see anything like this before?"She joins the others in poking at the remains.
"That was.... amazing! AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH" yells Zak, looking around frantically, still caught in the heat of the moment of battle while his strong Orc-ish emotions slowly come to a simmer.
".... pardon me sorry. " Zak eventually gets himself together. "Evil trees is right."
Zak has no desire to go check the bodies/broken twig piles, they just make him angry.
Martin walks over to look at the figures wondering what sort of power could have created such beings. He thinks of the many tomes he read in the temple as he looks over the creatures. (What kind of check would you want me to do for this, Trying to determine what they are or how they are created if constructs)

Zak: You don't see any other tracks around, the only ones are the ones you followed so far, and they end where the shrubs attacked you. The Old Road continues to the east. And you recall Felosial saying: ...You can find the ruins by following the Old Road towards a large ravine in the forest.... it's about 3-4 hours walk....
"We're burning daylight. If there's nothing here that points elsewhere, I say we should make for the citadel. Enough other odd goings on have been pointing us that-a-way."
"These things are bad news... and there'll be more of them soon, unless we stop them at their source." Spotty frowns. "They come from 'lands contaminated by darkness'... I don't know for sure, but I'd say this 'Sunless' Citadel might be a good place to start."
Gwenant nods at the kobold. "If that's the case, then let's not tarry. Are we ready to keep moving?"Before the party moves on, she recovers the javelin that she threw during the brief skirmish, then gets ready to resume the march.

Both Zak and Hef destroy their targets. Nothing is left but a pile of twigs and broken wood in front of them.
The last Twig Blight bursts into flames as the Fire Bolt hits it, and in seconds it falls to ashes to the ground...
Combat is over.

(I assume Renny hit that one with her fire though... yup! hehe)
Renny smiles, "Woo.. see that?" she walks up to examine the remains. She points, "Evil trees."

Looking back into anything you might have read through books about blight plant creatures, I will say History check.
Renny: any remain is now just dead twigs and ashes for some.

Hef steadies himself and begins scanning the woodline. Wanting to endure nothing sneaks up on them while the group is investigating the remains.

Hef: you see a few small birds chirping their morning songs in the trees, but other than that nothing out of the norm.

Zak is ready to keep moving forward on this path deeper into the woodland and waits for the party to finish up the aftermath investigations.
Or did the path end? If so, Zak will search for any other traces of the same type of trail.
