You guys learn the following information as Governor Nighthill interrogates the officer:
The cultists and their cannon fodder are members of the Cult of the Dragon, working for a person named "Rezmir". They are after loot, and as much as they can get - they've been raiding communities in the area, "to amass a great hoard of wealth that will usher in the reign of the Queen of Dragons.” The cult has a clutch of dragon eggs under heavy guard in a cave at the camp. You learn the location of this camp.
MISSIONS:
These missions can be done in any order, and you can do as many or as little as you like.
THE OLD TUNNEL: A narrow tunnel runs from the cellar beneath the keep to the bank of the south stream just outside town. The tunnel is wide enough to allow warriors to pass through it in single file. In the keep, the tunnel is sealed with a locked ironbound door, and the stream exit is covered with a locked iron grate made to look like a sewer outlet. The tunnel’s main function was as a secret means of collecting water from the stream during a siege, but it can double as a sally port. Since the keep has never been besieged, the old tunnel has never been used. Barrels and crates are piled in front of the door. The keys for the locks are on the ring that Escobert carries with him everywhere. Escobert recommends the tunnel as a means of sneaking townsfolk into the keep without running the gauntlet of attackers watching the gates. You guys can clear the cellar door with a few minutes’ work. TASK:Open the lock with a successful DC 10 Dexterity check and a set of thieves’ tools. The disused tunnel is choked with webs but is otherwise clear.
THE SALLY PORT: The keep has a sally port along the west wall for counterattacking foes who bring a battering ram against the gates. During the night while you all are in the keep, raiders approach the old gate, force it open, and rush through. Escobert discovers them and races into the courtyard to sound the alarm ahead of the infiltrators. Enough defenders are available to deal with the immediate threat from raiders loose in the keep, since it’s more a probe that got out of hand rather than a full-scale assault. Escobert is most concerned about resealing the sally port, and required your aid for that job. TASK: A town mage knows the mending spell and will need to be defended while she casts it to fix the sally port. You will need to survive three rounds of combat and protect her until the job is done. Cultists and kobolds are attacking!
DRAGON ATTACK: The adult blue dragon, Lennithon, is making passes attacking the town with it's breath weapon. During these attacks, Lennithon flies over the keep and uses his breath weapon without moving closer than 25 feet from the parapet. The defenders on the walls have mastered their fear of the dragon’s Frightful Presence from earlier attacks. There are twenty NPC defenders on the walls at the beginning of the mission. Lennithon is not targeting you guys, but the NPC - each pass he makes kills NPCs with his lightning breath. TASK: After each attack, Lennithon swoops away until his breath weapon recharges, then swings in for another attack. He repeats this pattern until it has taken 24 damage or more, or a single critical hit. After that happens, Lennithon will flee.
PRISONERS: Governor Nighthill would like to interrogate some of the raiders. "I’d give anything to know what we’re up against, and why. For that, we need prisoners. A commander, even a low-ranking one, is best.” Nighthill takes you onto the parapet and points out what he means. This is an ideal time for everyone to catch a glimpse of Frulam Mondath in her purple robes, accompanied by a dozen guards. Even the governor cautions you all against attacking such a formidable force, especially when any lower-level officer can answer his questions. TASK: During any of your missions, try and capture a low ranking commander of some sort. I'll let you guys know when you see one during the missions.
SAVE THE MILL: “The guards have spotted a new threat. Raiders are trying to set fire to the town’s mill. If it burns, we’ll lose our stockpile of flour and we won’t be able to grind more for months. I’m trying to assemble enough defenders from here in the keep to defend it through the rest of the night, but that will take time. You’d do us a great service if you could get to the mill quickly and drive away the raiders before they can set it aflame. You’ll need to defend it until our force arrives to take over, but it shouldn’t be more than fifteen minutes behind you.” TASK: Raiders are trying to burn the mill! Intercept and kill the raiders. There appears to be about 10 of them.
SANCTUARY: Dozens of townsfolk have barricaded themselves inside the temple to Chauntea, but raiders have it surrounded. The attackers tried setting fire to the stout structure but had little success. Now they’ve deployed an improvised battering ram. It’s only a matter of time, possibly minutes, before the temple’s main doors crumple under the assault, leaving the villagers inside helpless. The temple is a large building, made of fieldstone with a peaked slate roof, and square in shape. It is taller than most other buildings in town. Inside, the altar occupies the middle of the temple, with other worship areas arranged around it. TASK: The force outside the temple is split into three groups. One (A) is battering at the front doors, another (B) is circling the temple in a screeching mob, and the third (C) is heaping burning straw against a rear door. All these groups together would overwhelm you all, but you might devise a plan that gets you inside the temple by dealing with one group. There are about 30 total raiders at this location. This mission involves heavy strategy.

Messalina allows Edward to drag the unconscious officer back to the tower. "Sorry, but this new body only looks muscular. I'm still the same weakling in a bulkier passage." Once the prisoner has been given to the higher-ups, Messalina suggests that they all take some time to catch their breath and recover from their wounds. When everyone has found a calm place to take a short rest, she plops her feet in front of Camilla. "I'm terribly sorry to impose, but running around and saving the village while barefoot is a killer. Would you mind using those wonderful healing hands of yours to give me a massage?" And as she asks, she uses Prestidigitation to clean up her feet.
Camilla cocks her head to the side, a wry smile on her face finding Messalina's imposition humorous. "I'm a doctor, not a masseuse. Or a reflexologist, for that matter."She reaches over to Messalina's feet, pressing hard on the tissues. "Oh, very well, just this once. Can't say I blame you. You know that feeling after a massage when you wish you had spent your gold on something else? Me neither."And she laughed.

Li'riya nods mutely in answer to Messalina's suggestion of resting, sitting in a corner and quietly taking out her scimitar, running her fingers over the Elvish characters carved into the haft.
Messalina chuckles along with Camilla's joke. "You don't need to be a masseuse to give a good massage. You just need a soft touch, warm hands, and be able to see if your client is enjoying what you're doing or not. And you possess all three of those." Messalina then shifts into an Earth Genasi with grey-black hair and blue eyes. "There. This form should have some hardier soles."

Edward nods at Messalina and as they take a quick breather he uses the time to clean his blade and then meditate for a little bit as the rest relax in their own ways.
He is a tiefling child being cut open by my instruments.
Although he sleeps, his body twitches, betraying painful dreams and sleepless nerves firing as they register pain from the procedure I was tasked to do. A procedure I helped create. Two hearts, fleshy and glistening, beat in his cracked-open chest. A second new organ, smaller than the new heart, will alter the growth of his bones, encouraging his skeleton to absorb unnatural minerals over the course of his lifetime. Untrembling hands, mostly infernal, work over the child's body, slicing and sealing, implanting and flesh-bonding. The boy trembles again, his eyes opening for a moment.
"Sleep."
The boy tries to resist, but slumber grips him with comforting claws. He feels, just for a moment, as though he is sinking into the black seas of his homeworld. Sleep, Lieutenant Preceptor Camilla had said. He obeys, because the chemicals within his blood force him to obey. A third organ is placed within his chest, not far from the new heart. As his bones warp and grow on the new minerals, new hormones flow in his blood to feed his muscles. I seal the boy's medical wounds. Already, the child is no longer tiefling. Tonight's work has seen to that. Time will reveal just how different the boy will become.
As I enter the chamber to clean and purify myself, I look at myself in the mirror, and I choke, weeping quietly.
NOW TORIL GREENEST
I startle awake. I had fallen asleep after the foot rub I gave Messalina, tired from almost two days of not sleeping. Leaning back against the wall, I look around, once again gathering my senses - reality kicking in swiftly. My travelling companions are still here. How long had I been asleep? We had done much in the 4 or 5 hours we've been here. The town is nearly liberated, but yet there are raiders everywhere, still.
The memory still fresh in my mind, I take off my glasses and wipe my eyes - trying to forget the horrible things Hell made me do during my tour of duty in the War against Acheron.
As the team takes a break, Astrid disappears for half an hour. She returns to the Harper Headquarters, to report the results of her task of herding a large group of townsfolk to the keep, and then the subsequent missions they were sent on. After exchanging the minimal amount of intelligence she managed to gather, she quickly returned back to the keep to meet up with the rest of her new friends.
Walking up to each one in turn, shaking your hands with rapid little pumps, she gratefully announces her name and title (“Names Astrid Holmes, Greenest’s Deputy Harper Administrator, Third Class!”) with no lack of excitement. “Thank you all for your help back there! You guys are awesome!”
Camilla's glasses nearly got jostled off her face as Astrid shook her hand. Fixing her glasses, staring at the gnome curiously, she said, "Oh! Hello. You're welcome. Goodness, you've got amazing amounts of energy for someone so..elderly?"
Edward not opening his eyes from the meditation tells her, "We're just doing what we can. Though it sounds like the Cult is causing terror everywhere." Edward practically spits the word cult out as if it leaves a bad taste in his mouth.
Astrid stares at Camilla for a few uncomfortable seconds, then proceeds to take her purse and swing it wildly into Camilla, hitting her with it. "RESPECT your elders, young lady!" She then proceeds to stare deeply into her eyes, like she's looking deeply into your soul, weighing the good parts against the bad. After a few more uncomfortable seconds, she straightens up, plasters a smile over her ugly face, and then continues on to introduce herself to the rest of the group.
