Fire engulfs the very angry dragon, surprising it and distracting it, for a moment. Bazavur and Jalt continue to advance a litt,e but you all manage to avoid the explosion. The dragon roars with pain (failed its saving throw), and seems in no mood for further talk. You of course don't know who is responsible for this helpful magical attack - Soar and Jalt would recall that Nub used this spell often, but certainly none of you can do so. Perhaps you have some unknown allies.
Round One: Bazavur (En?) Arauthator Unknown allies Soar and Jalt
Bazavur is up. You are charging down the street, and are currently 35 feet from the dragon's nearest side.
Seeing the dragon ahead of him, Bazavur can no longer contain his rage as he runs towards the white dragon. A tiny flumph appears near the dragon. (Assuming north is up, I’ll say north west. Kinda by the green cloth covered stall)
Using the objects in the market area like stairs he leaps onto the dragon attempting to slash the dragon as he jumps up and lands. Though missed both strikes either from his rage or focusing on the landing.
The dragon now has a dragonborn riding on its back. It's not a happy dragon. It wasn't expecting this.
It also wasn't expecting the little flumph that appears beside it. The creature sighs, and Bazavur hears in his mind: "Really? I was having a perfectly nice breakfast and now this?" The creature then explodes in an explosion as teeny as the fireball was impressive. The dragon doesn't even notice.
Soar, you hear a whisper in your ear. "I'm here. Let me know if I can help." It's En's voice.
The dragon, Bazavur on its back, flaps its wings once and takes off. It roars, and the power behind the roar is terrifying and overwhelming. Everyone within 120 feet needs to make a WIS save, DC14, or be frightened.
The dragon cannot twist its neck far enough to bite at Bazavur, but does manage to bring its claw up to rake against him; one attack misses, but the second hits - Bazavur takes 6 points of slashing damage, reduced to 3 from his rage.
The dragon is angrily scrabbling with Bazavur, trying to get rid of his passenger. It's twenty feet up in the air, and that's the end of its turn.
The tiny scholar appears unimpressed by the dragon’s vocalizations and he points a finger at its dull white head. It seems to see the barbarian rider at the last moment and casts a more…limited…spell.
Magic missiles, a total of 6, fly out from the figure’s pointed finger and steak towards the white dragon!
(18 force damage)
It then floats up 30 feet or so, to eye level with the dragon, and looks amused at the ongoing wrestling match.
All of Soar's past missteps and failures flow through he mind as Arauthator's terrible presence makes itself palpable, pouring down on her head like a blizzard. She has a pang of fear (WIS save: 4+8=12 rolled in Avrae) and grimaces, shutting her eyes tight and looking at the ground in response. She barely sees the new arrival.
'Titus' sees the dragonborn warrior leap on to the wyrms back and mutters a brief incantation before letting loose a single bolt of firey energy, counting on surprise to help him hit and harm the massive creature.
He then steps forward and calls out 'Keep the pressure on it, don't let it get it's bearings'. ( Help)
22 on Wisdom save 20 to hit and a total of 28 damage if a 20 gets through Help action is for anyone with 30ft of the dragon on their next attack - master of tactics
One by one, six magical missiles appear, thrown by the tiniest little humanoid that those close by might have seen before, but would be new for anyone just recently arrived charging into the square. Thunk, thunk, thunk. They hit the dragon's neck, shaking it a little each time and tearing a gash open in its flesh. The caster floats upwards, level now with the dragon.
At the same time, the dragon is struck by the fire bolt released by a human who was standing in the shadows, or at least somewhat in the background half-hidden by one of the surviving market stalls. The dragon burns, one wing briefly catching fire.
The dragon, using a legendary action, whips its tail around to try to dislodge Bazavur. It hits (20 against AC), doing 9 points of bludgeoning damage reduced to 4 from rage. Bazavur, give me a DEX save to avoid being knocked off the dragon's back.
Soar and Jalt are up. Soar is frightened, but can also take advantage of the Help action from Titus if she wishes.
Soar squeezes her eyes shut tight and focuses. She inadvertently drops her mask of many faces (unless it's an action) and utters a quick prayer to Kelemvor. "Give me the strength. I can do this,"and she casts [/spell]heroism[/spell] on herself.
Filled with resolve, she rises, opens her eyes, and turns around to face the huge dragon above her. Instead of a dark-complexioned elven woodswoman who looks like a normal resident of the area, Soar appears. Near-white hair, quite a few scars, and if you get close enough to see, smile lines etched into the spaces around her eyes and mouth. But no smile at the moment. She wears, uncomfortably, a set of heavy, dirty chain mail of orcish make, and wields a beat-up, jet black, heavy shield and thick battleaxe, both with ease, but little comfort.
Her mind plays catch-up, taking in the magical darts and the fire assaulting Arauthator. This town had heroes of its own. They could be turning Soar and Jalt and Bazavur in to save their own skins, but they weren't. They were fighting back. The least she could do was to help them out.
Hearing En, she says, "oh, you're there. Stay safe... unless you can give me wings of my own to fly to that dragon so I can hit it, or wiggle your fingers to make its day harder so we can end its cruelty once and for all..."
She clunkily moves 30 feet east, and, looking up at the monster, points at it with her axe, and a bit of fey malevolent magic rises to sink into the creature's chest (BA Hexblade's Curse):
Once per short rest, as a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 ft. to curse it for 1 minute (or until the target dies, you die, or you are incapacitated). Against the cursed target, you gain a +4 bonus to damage rolls, score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20, and you regain 6 HP if it dies.
If she can get any cover using a stall next to her, she'll do that. She's trying to stay close in case it lands, or if she can get an opportunity to bamf up next to Bazavur in a few seconds, or failing either of those, shoot it from afar.
Jalt makes his way towards the dragon and watches the magic missiles hit it. He raises his hand in the air and pointing at the dragon, casts Guiding Bolt at lvl 4.. rolled a 12.... Jalt channel divine energy to use Guided Strike to add 10 to that attack... for 30 damage.

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Jalt Rhogar - Dragonborn Cleric (9)
Bazavur clings on to the back of the dragon, just about.
Soar casts her spell, and feels the fear slip away - for the moment. She edges closer, looking for and finding limited cover by one of the remaining stalls, though not from above.
Jalt moves closer too, unleashing his magical attack; the dragon is struck hard, and glows with guiding energy, the soft glow of Bahamut's strength and justice.
Arauthator will use his tail attack, this time to attempt to shove Bazavur off its back. That's a contested check, the dragon's 7 athletics versus Bazavur's acrobatics or athletics. It's literally impossible for Bazavur to get less than 12, so the attack fails - I think the tail just misses and the dragon sort of rotates pathetically in the air. There's a low growl, or what perhaps was supposed to be a low growl - it comes out as more of a squeak.
Round Two Bazavur En Arauthator Tobin and Titus Soar and Jalt
Bazavur is up. The dragon remains up in the air, and you are clinging to its back.
Bazavur laughs uproariously, although it sounds more like a frightened chuckle, as the dragon attempts to smack him again with its tail. Briefly seeming like a dog chasing its tail.
A flumph appears near the dragons tail briefly before exploding (6 force damage dc 14 dex to avoid)
Bazavur does his best to focus on the gash on the dragon’s neck attempting to lodge the glaive there to give him a better chance to stay on the dragon’s back. (16 & 25 to hit for 11 and 8 slashing damage respectively)
One glaive attack hits the dragon and cuts across its back; Bazavur is valiantly remaining on its back, despite the growing terror he feels. You want to run, to flee, to escape this creature. But your rage will not allow it.
Soar, you hear a tiny voice at your side. Okay. And in the moment En appears, you feel yourself becoming lighter as your feet lift a fraction off the ground. En remains where they are, looking as though they are not at all sure of the wisdom of this action.
The dragon is angry, very angry, and also bleeding quite a lot now. It will make another shove attempt against Bazavur and again if the first fails. Its first roll was 17, second was 25.
