Soar definitely waxes nostalgic about their adventures, at length. When Nate goes to leave, she says, "This isn't goodbye! We'll see each other again, I just know it. Thank you, sincerely, for all you've done. I hope we've been able to help you find some peace. You've earned some time. Go explore, Nate. Grow. Be generous, and also seek out everything this world has to offer. And come find us if you're getting bored!"She offers to hug him, but doesn't force herself on him.
To the greatsword, she replies with the mental equivalent of ruffling his hair and laughing. She's the opposite of scared of him. There's a part of her that understands the sword may be evil, but it just doesn't matter to her. It has no power over her, and she'll be using it for good, whether it wants to be used that way or not. Most of her just assumes she can win him over.
To Jalt, she says, assuming he tells her about the word limit, "how about, 'Treasure moved to roadhouse, swamp castle, Parnast, then flying castle. Rezmir, Jos, white dragon dead. Cult somewhere north. We're in forest, westward. News? Instructions? Advice?"
If he does not tell her about the word limit, she suggests something significantly more longwinded than that.
The elk's name is Candelabra.
(OOC: Pilot away Mr. Nub! Maybe he has a spell that would be helpful here. I'm honestly a bit lost, and not just in-game. Not sure where we'd be and I don't know Faerun geography well. So what our next step should be... suggestions welcome.)
Jalt closes his eyes, and brings his shield in front of him. Holding it with both hands, he starts to speak but no words come out as he casts Sending and relays the message to Leosin. He stands there eyes closed and awaits an answer.

"Do we have any way of figuring out where we are so we can get to there? I doubt going back south the Parnast would be worth anything -- that circle was one-way, I thought. Maybe I'm not remembering right. I thought going west until we get closer to the coast would be our best shot. But I'm a doomguide, not a navigator. Nub, do you have any thoughts on this?"Soar says.
How cold is it here, compared to where things should be this time of year? Does it seem like we're particularly far north? Do the trees look recognizable? Soar and Elspeth traveled from Waterdeep all through the middle of the continent on their winding way down to Greenest, so even though Soar's not a nature expert, she's seen trees and forests...
The flora and fauna are the kind of native species you would expect in or near the Sword Coast. You're confident that you're not in Chult, or on another plane of existence. It feels like you are maybe a little farther north than somewhere like Greenest or even Waterdeep at this time of year, but you're nowhere near the Spine of the World. More than that, it's hard to say.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

He gives a large tortle shrug, as only a tortle can. I don't know. Perhaps we're in the Sword Coast. But there are no limitless forests in Faerun, this much I am certain of. If we continue heading in one direction, we must in the end reach the edge, no?
Soar shrugs, starts walking forward, and then turns over her shoulder, midstride. "Might as well keep walking! We'll get to the edge, as Nub says. Then maybe we'll know more. I don't really know what else to do, but I trust Kelemvor... and Bahamut wouldn't have let us get into this position without having an idea of how we might get out of it. Both gods wanted us to track the cult. The cult went through that portal, and onto that castle. We dispatched them quickly, and while we maaaaybe could have convinced Blagothkus to take us to the cult's intended destination, I'm not sure that would have ended well. We've done well so far, but I have to assume there's more wherever Rezmir was headed in the north. I wish Blagothkus had been able to tell us where exactly they were going."
She suggests that Jalt might want to ask Leosin what kind of timeframe we're on.
(Since our toolboxes don't really have much for this problem, I think walking until we know where we are is our only option!)
The forest continues on for another full day, but at the end of that day, if Soar once again consults the local animals, she learns that the edge of the forest is not far, less than a day's further travel. Nub once again creates the dome that allows you to rest safely, and you pass another night in the forest.
The following day, in what you would estimate is the middle of the day, you notice the forest becoming less gloomy as more light seems to be able to penetrate to the paths where you walk. And then, quite suddenly, you emerge from the forest, and see before you hilly grasslands stretching out ahead to the west, though the uneven terrain means that you cannot see very far. There's no sign here of any humanoid inhabitants; no dwellings or paths that you can see.
Soar will keep walking into the grasslands, aiming for a higher hilltop for a good view of the surroundings. Assuming she doesn't see anything notable, she'll keep going west.
When she gets closer to a bird, assuming she sees nothiing, she casts her speak with animals spell again and asks it if it's seen any roads out here on the plain, any houses, any smoke from cookfires or chimneys or, of course, towns. She'd ask it to do a loop high above them and return to tell them what it sees that might be from people.
The bird reports that there are settlements here and there, but can't convey their size to you. There is also a road directly to your west that you will reach the following day.
Soar looks at Jalt and Nub. "Well, a road means connection to someplace, and perhaps someone to tell us where we are. This is an odd problem to have."She's happy to continue along westward.
Jalt stops again, closes his eyes and tries to send another message to Leosin Heading west away from the forest. Not sure where we are. Any allies in area? Any assistance would be helpful. We are lost. Jalt does not convey the message he sent.

Jalt, Leosin replies. Heading west makes sense. Can't help locate you, sorry. Good luck and keep in contact. Let me know when you find yourselves.
Nub agrees to the plan. Let us continue on, and see what we see.
You camp in the tall grass, well hidden from casual observers, and it's pleasant to be out of the oppressive cover of the forest. It's also a little chilly - the wind is picking up and a sign of approaching winter. Also perhaps a sign that you are still in the same part of the world that you know perhaps.
The following day, around midday, you do indeed come upon a road. It is well marked and clearly old, though not heavily travelled in recent years. You do not see anyone on the road at the moment though. It stretches from north-east to south-west.

"Ive heard it both ways."
Leosin's response comes after a few seconds. He sounds hesitant in choosing his words; he's clearly familiar with the spell and the word limit:
Good news. Rezmir important victory. Come to Waterdeep. We gather allies here. Want to hear details. Which forest are you in? Contact me again soon.
Jalt opens his eyes and says Waterdeep. He looks to the others, We have allies in Waterdeep. Now we must find a way there.

Jalt agrees with Nub. West would get us to the coast. From there I'd assume we'd be able to more aptly figure out our way to Waterdeep.
