Embarrassed he forgot to do it last time, Tobin writes “Entry 3” in the ground where they came in and is poised to write “Exit 3” where they plan to go next.

Soar nods at Bazavur, and faces the NE. "Splitting the difference, sure. Maybe there's some imaginary sun behind us, and we follow the light? I have no other idea, and that seems as good a one as any. Shall we give it a shot? Maybe we'll fight shrimp in a waterfall this time. Or end up back here and we have no shadows. This wizard went nuts here on his own."
She prepares to go to the NE passage when everyone's ready, unless there are objections.
And so you go. Down, once again, a curving, hedge-lined path, the sundial clearing behind you, and on to the next place.
You arrive this time at... an identical clearing, sundial in the middle, eight paths arranged around. Well, almost identical. This one has three shadows, one pointing north, one south-east, and one south-west. You arrived from the south.
“Well…, uh…, it seems we are making… progress…?” Bazavur states hesitantly. “Though at this point I have no idea which way we should try first.”
He then looks around the location searching for anything that would make this area different from the previous three they have seen. Other than the obvious difference of the shadows that make no sense.
You don't see anything different except the shadows. Like the other areas you've entered, there's no indication that anyone has travelled through this place recently.
”Perhaps this puzzle is simpler than I first thought. Maybe if we continue to go down paths without shadows and keep coming to clearings with more shadows cast, we will eventually fill up all directions with shadows and get to the center of the maze,” says Tobin hopefully.
The small librarian looks up towards the tower, saying, “And perhaps the best way to go is towards the tower we can see above the walls of the maze, assuming it doesn’t line up with an existing shadow.”
(Can Tobin see the tower from here, and, if so, what direction is it?)

”There’s no shadow to the west, and the tower appears to be that way. Unless anyone else has a suggestion?” invites Tobin, preparing to write “Exit 4” in the ground if they do head west from here.

Bazavur shrugs as he’s starting to get tired of seeing what seems like the same sundial and random directions of shadows that make no sense to him. “Let’s give it a shot.” He states plainly. Doing his best to sound encouraging.
“I have no better idea, so sure. But if this wizard was trying to keep people out of his tower, it would be weird to set all this mess up so that the answer is just to walk toward the tower. But let’s give us a shot,” Soar says. She prepares to go west.
With Tobin finishing off his mark on the ground, you all head west along yet another curving hedge corridor.
You emerge from the path (from the north) into an area far larger than any open area you have seen or would have expected to encounter in the maze garden. This rectangular space must be ninety feet across, with its far side almost 150 feet away. It looks like a boulder-strewn pasture, with a large pond to one side and a fenced vegetable garden and oversized cottage on the other. Sheep graze in the pasture, tended by a pair of cyclopes, but none of them are moving. They all appear frozen in time. You can see an exit in the distance opposite where you entered.

All agreed, north-east?
Tobin nods in agreement.

Sighing, Tobin writes “Entrance 4” on the ground as they enter.

Bazavur, give me a Perception check.

(Cyplops, like the creatures of Greek myth?)
They look like the image below, except they're tending sheep, not attacking. Anyone who wants to can make a Nature check to see if they know more.
Nature: 5
(just to clarify, none of the creatures are moving. Cyclops or sheep. They are standing completely still?)
Everything is completely still, as though frozen.
