“Well if it’s a rock throwing competition I think I have the best shot at it. Does the boulder need to be a certain size?” Bazavur directs his question at Soar waiting for her to translate it and the inevitable reply. In the interim, he leans towards Tobin, “If it needs to be a really big one, will that potion make me bigger and stronger?… or just bigger you think?”
”If it makes you bigger, it will make you stronger…If it makes you smaller, weaker. Sorry, I don’t know which one unless I takes some time to study it,” responds Tobin.

(Unless we are able to use a boulder that is significantly smaller. I don’t think anyone would be able to do anything to it. My push/drag/lift limit is 480 pounds)
”I could try that summoning crystal if we like—that may give us something useful,” suggests Tobin.
“If I take 10 minutes to decipher its particulars, I would know more. Would that be within the rules of the game to summon a creature to throw it for us?”
"Your boulder must fly further than mine." The cyclops appears willing only to repeat the rules, not to clarify or explain them. The other cyclops, now standing next to the other, nods in agreement.
(If Bazavur is made larger, he gets stronger, right? And therefore his carrying and throwing capacity would be stronger? Can we shrink a boulder? Do we know what we'd be summoning? No one can levitate anything, can they? Or use telekinesis? Sadly Soar has no spells that can help here, and no magic items.)
She translates again that the boulder simply has to fly farther than the one thrown by the cyclops. "Can anyone make the boulder smaller? Make Bazavur bigger and stronger?"
While the discussion continues, Tobin sits and perfoms the ritual to identify the gem, thinking it might be their best bet for getting a creature capable of propelling the Boulder auch a distance.

Excitedly, Tobin makes some calculations. He says, “If one of you is strong enough to lift the Boulder, I could give you a fly speed and you could carry the Boulder through the air—if that is within the rules of this game.”
The small scholar adds, “This gem will summon a large air elemental which could carry the stone as well—as long as it is not heavier than 420 lbs— but I’m not sure if that violates the intent of the rules.”

Soar nods at Tobin. "Well, only one way to find out! Bazavur, do you want to see if either of us can lift one of these? Then whoever can do it, Tobin makes a flier, and we give it a shot?" Soar walks among the boulders, looking for the lightest, smallest one she can find. Then she sets down all of her things, and tries to lift it. She has a carrying capacity of 480 lbs.
Aiwin thinks just a moment before looking at the group "I say go with the elemental plan, at best it works and counts and at worst we get an elemental to help us in a fight before combat even starts."
Varan thinks for a moment, "Nothin' is stopping us from goin' back and tryin' another path, and I don't think they said anythin' about what happens if we fail the challenge."

Soar, as far as you can tell, all the boulders are about the same size - two feet in diameter, and you would estimate the weight at 500 pounds or so.
“If that is our best bet, maybe we give it a try?” Soar says.
Aiwin just looked around "Anyway to propel it by magic or summon something that can toss it for us?"

”I have no such magic for a stone that large,” says Tobin.

Tobin, your spell reveals that this is an Elemental Gem (Blue Sapphire).

Soar tests a few boulders; somehow they all seem to weigh just a little more than she is able to lift by herself.
