Chill and Ghorar have been gone about 20 mins. If you want to short rest that is fine but you need 1 hour so Chill and Ghorar will have more time of exploring if you short rest.
Rekuberk will grab the Heavy Crossbow in order to have a truly ranged weapon, leaving behind his hand axes in order to make room for it. With that done he will ease his Greatsword from the sheathe and begin to mutter something on orcish before stepping to join the others.
Chill and Ghorar find themselves in a short corridor. Judging by what they have already seen Chill easily determines the likelihood of a hidden door to the east and his sharp eyes quickly find it.
These cold, empty halls (H9) are hidden behind secret doors and have arrow slits along their outer walls.
To the south open doors enter to another large room.
H13. Dining Room
Everything in this room has been destroyed. Whoever did it went as far as to pull down a pair of chandeliers that once hung by chains from the ceiling. Smashed furnishings include a long wooden dining table and a dozen wooden chairs. Lying in the sooty fireplace is the stuffed and mounted head of a large white wolf with glassy blue eyes. The head once hung from hooks above the mantelpiece.
Chill and Ghorar start seeing evidence that orcs once resided in the empty keep They recall back to the orcs at the shrine of Savras who said they had been driven from their home in the mountains by the dragon. This must have been the home they spoke of.
H14. Kitchen
The orcs trashed this room, destroying its furnishings and scattering debris everywhere. A cold breeze blows out of the twin fireplaces built into the south wall.
H15. Pantry
This room has been ransacked, leaving nothing but smashed shelves, broken barrels, torn sacks, and other detritus lying about. Amid the detritus, you find the skeletal remains of a male humanoid clad in a rusty breastplate.
H16. Armory
Weapon racks that once stood against the north and south walls lie smashed on the floor amid the remains of wooden mannequins. Rusty hooks on the walls once held armor, shields, and helms.
More and more evidence is found that indicates orcs were living in the keep at some point in the fairly recent past.
A circular stairway is found that goes up.
Additionally I made an error earlier and the straight stairway first found goes down.
Ghorar continues to send updates that Rhogar relays to the others as relevant. But eventually there comes a point the tether between the two becomes stretched to its limits(around H15). At which point she sends Chill a light warning of it in her own way, alongside reassuring feelings. If the Tabaxi wished to explore further, than she would be there with alongside him, ready to help however possible.

So with Pact of the Chain you actually can sense everything she can but she can't communicate back with you simple ideas and emotions.
(Well, that's not the pact but a familiar psuedodragon specific trait. But oh shite, I forgot about that! yeeaaaah boiii. Best familiar evveeer. Definitely gotta get voice of the chain master at some point!)
"Well Ghorar, let's finish off the main floor and then head back. The others will get worried. The orcs made a mess but I'm pretty certain they are gone. The dragon drove them out."
As Krom and the other party members wait for Chill and Ghorar to finish exploring the main floor of the keep, the dwarf says "The Dragon looked pretty big, I doubt that his lair is going to be within the castle. He is probably on the roof." Krom walks then next Rekuberk and says to him "Chip and our lass have means of being protected by the cold that the Dragon will throw at us, lad. When we will be near the beast, I will summon Moradin's fire inside you to shield you from the cold. It is a taxing hymn, but if I do not get too much wounded I should be able to keep it for one hour or so."
Chill and Ghorar continue to explore the main floor.
They find themselves back to a room they saw earlier. (H17). Looking carefully inside now they see three humanoid skeletons in rusty suits of chain mail lie on the floor near rusty longswords. A fourth humanoid skeleton in rusty plate armor lies slumped in a chair that faces the fireplace. A steel goblet lies on the floor between the legs of the chair. A small leather bound book lies next to the body.
In the middle of the room stands a sturdy oak table . Tiny, carved wooden figures of soldiers are strewn about, as are the torn-up remains of old maps.
The last room, H18, confirms that orcs once lived in the castle as evidenced by the filth in the room. The furnishings that were once here have all been burned in the fireplace. A few dead orcs lie in the room, but not much remains of them.
Chill notes that the doors that lead from the area of the stairwell and to the outside from room H18 don't just appear to have been broken off of their hinges or rotted but completely smashed apart.
Chill also finds a hidden door that leads to the outerwall
You finish the main floor and head back towards the gatehouse and come across the rest of the party who has now crossed over in room H12. They have had a short rest while Chill an Ghorar were gone.
Feel free to play out any other searches or activity of areas explored before continuing as a party.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Chill and Ghorar are still exploring, Krom, chanting an hymn of Mending, checks once more his armor, shield and weapons to be sure that everything is ready for the final battle with the Dragon.
(OOC I will spend 1 Hit Dice to heal for 9)
(As the group starts climbing the stairs from H18 to H19 Krom will cast Protection from Energy on Rekuberk setting the protection to cold damage)
Krom will take a close look at the book found in H17.
Kazri, meanwhile, studies the keep in case things do not go as planned.
(Is Kazri able to get to the middle north H9?)

Chill takes the book that was next to the skeleton but doesn't take the time to read it. He also grabs a couple of the small figures from the table and fingers them for a moment before slipping them into a belt pouch.
He picks through everything else but unless something really catches his attention he spends a few minutes examining the damage to the smashed doors as it seems the damage is different.
Investigation 20
He'll then head back to meet with the others and report his findings.
Looking at the doorways that have the smashed doors Chill can see claw marks on the walls and frames. Clearly this is where the dragon made entry into the keep. It looks to have gone up the circular stairs.
Chill has found all of the secret doors to the keep or they were broken through at some point or were found open.
Kazri can reach anything on the main floor. There are arrow slits in the walls.
There remains a set of straight stairs going down and circular stairs going up.
Kazri checks if it is possible to leave the keep from the north middle H9 area. How high is that area to the path. After that she returns to the inside of the keep.

Rekuberk nods as what Krom says slapping the dwarf on the shoulder before he loads a bolt into his new heavy crossbow, setting it on his back before going to lead the way to the dragon. "Krom stay back to hold the power of spell of you can. As for the rest of us it would be best I imagine to slam the most powerful abilities we have into the beast."
Kazri, you cannot leave the keep from H9 as the outer walls only have arrow slits which are too small for a medium sized creature to fit through.
The only places you can exit the main floor is the door at the bridge to the gatehouse and the 2 sections that have collapsed. Sheer cliff walls are below those areas and it would take skill to climb.
It is clear the keep was built to be easily defended from attack as the only access is the narrow path with the gatehouse creating another bottleneck.
Rhogar nods to Rekuberk. And once Ghorar returned to him, he had her stay at the base of the stairs for the time being in the all too likely event of their marching leading to a violent retribution. If Chill however makes mention of the book, Rhogar try to snatch up at least a minute or two to examine its contents, curious to see if it might pretain to possibly hidden or untouched aspects of the keep that they might use against the dragon yet!
In turn, though it would likely do little good atm, He brings up with Kazri the ornament found and possibly passing it off to Chill if it hadn't been already.
