Maxine was curiously observing attempts to communicate with the sharks. Shae did not have time to finish her story about Raven Queen, but at the moment the boat was more important, stories could wait until they all will be properly in the sea. To be honest, talking to sharks was a much more entertaining show than some mystical beings looming on the horizon (those guys love to do that!).
"I made a potion that can make you look like a shark... Probably. No sure that it will help, though," quite seriously suggested she.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Professor, you notice that the birds are picking at something drifting in the water. You still can't quite make it out, but there are various shreds of fabric in different colours that you can make out.
Shae, you realise that sharks are mostly creatures of instinct, with barely a need to communicate. Their packs form not because they aim to hunt together, but instead because each shark wants to get in on the feeding frenzy. They don't tend to listen to other sharks, or anything other than their own instincts, really.
------------------------
Berrus, with two mighty swings, you manage to get two more of the snake heads, leaving the creature before you looking ragged and much worse for wear. Still bothered by Zip, it swipes at him once more. The claws connect just below Zip's jaw, and he drops to the ground with three bloody gashes cut across his neck and jaw. You can see that he is rapidly loosing blood. Before being able to rush to his aid though, two of the remaining snakes find purchase on your lesser protected legs, and they bite you. You sense the venom coursing through your body and try as much as you can to resist it.
Bertrand, seeing Zip starting to bleed out, quickly rushes over and does his utmost to stem the bleeding. He tears off part of his sleeve to quickly try and bind the throbbing wound, and as he's patching up Zip, he opens his eyes, having come back to consciousness despite his wounds! He rapidly grabs his crossbow, and fires a bolt at the creature. The bloodloss has weakened him significantly though, and as his hands are shaking, the bolt goes wide.
Con save, and your turn please (I'll be adding the damage according to your con save. The 3 points of extra critical damage I added already.)
Claws: 10 vs 12 for 4 Snakes: 12 vs 19 for 5 and 26 poison, or half if DC 12 Con Save is passed.

"Hmm... I don't think my attempts to communicate will work. They're creatures of instinct and normally only gather for feeding frenzies." Shae would purse her lips as her eyes would watch the seagulls the Professor was looking at. "They're scavengers aren't they Professor?" She was referring to the seagulls. "I'm inclined to agree with Snively's proposition to go for the boat first."
A slightly disappointed Fang nods and watches you carry on further, past the largest group of sharks. As you pass about twenty feet or so south of the flock of seagulls, you spot a torn pack, filled with hard tack caught on the rusted weather vane of the old town church, drifting on the waves, which the seagulls very happily started pecking at. As you look around, a more grizzly sight breifly catches your sight: you spot a few pieces of splintered wood, a broken oar, and a pointed shoe, like the ones Faekin was want to wear, with parts of the shinbone sticking out. You quickly realise why there were so many sharks circling about here...

The animal is bounding rapidly away from you, but Zip, in shock at how close he came to dying, is leveling his crossbow for a second shot. It too goes wide though, and the creature reaches the treeline and disappears.
Panting, you all draw closer, keeping an eye out around you, before taking a knee and breathing heavily. Zip is still in very rough shape, but Cliff wakes up quickly, completely unharmed. Priorities first, you quickly check the supplies, and find that some of the dried meat is gone, probably about two days' worth. By quickly reacting, you saved the rest of the provisions though!
Looking to the tracks on the ground, these look like the large prints that Fang couldn't identify. A couple of the leaves at the edge to the forest are still covered in the animal's blood, easy enough to track it, if you really wanted to.

Fang, you conclude that Faekin likely hit the top of the church-roof and got the ship damaged and stuck in the night. Trying to push himself off with his oar, he probably slipped and capsized the boat, likely cutting himself either on the weather vane or the splinters of the boat. In the dark, trying to get the boat upright again proved difficult, and with him bleeding in the water, it wasn't very long for the sharks to find him and deal with him in a manner only sharks can.
Based on that, you start looking around for the remains of the ship. After climbing onto Brax's shoulders, you spot the striped sail, torn in the middle, drifting on the waves. From the looks of it, the capsizing had caused parts of the mast to snap off, because the rest of the boat isn't anywhere near.
Perception checks for anyone wanting to look out for the hull. Since you don't know in which direction to look, all the checks will be made at disadvantage.

Fang is keeping a close eye out but he can't make out the boat. About ten minutes later though, the Professor quickly points out the reason why. As you look downwards, onto the seafloor below, you can make out the vague shape of the small version of the boat, sitting on the ground between two of the flooded ruins, about 25 feet below you.

Snively reaches out with his water magic, trying to get enough flow of water underneath the ship to dislodge it from the sea bed. With the application of Shape Water, the Professor moves the water under the boat, but was it enough to break it free? He adds a dose of Mold Earth to try and push away any sand weighing down the wooden shape with one hand as he moves the water with the other, weaving together the elements in an attempt to recover the boat.

"All we need is for someone to tie that boat to a rope, I think our ropes are long enough. And to tie it..." Maxine dived into her bag, to triumphantly return with a potion in her hand. "Yes, I did remember it right! Not of my creation," immediately said she to the most frightened, "this is something we got from the hags - Potion of Water Breathing. You, Fang, probably do not need it, but with that even I can dive in and try to get that boat or whatever is needed from the sea floor. If you can keep sharks away, I am ready to try."
