Knok turns his head at Finan's somewhat patronizing pat and tone, looking up at the bigger man. "Knok hasn't been a Not Us for long, but from Knok's perspective, it could be argued that you're the weird one." Satisfied, Knok resumes his place next to Tanni at the front of the little group and prepares to advance further down into the tunnel complex.

Jonathan will occasionally glance behind at the way they came, just in case of some skulking creature that may be following their group, though his vision only goes as far as the torchlight does.
Finan lets out a loud bark of laughter at Knok's reaction, and with a smile calls after him as the Goblin makes his way to the front of the group. "You're absolutely right, Knok, I meant no offense. And one of these days you will have to explain what a Nattas is. But save that for later, when we're back at the inn enjoying a nice ale, eh?"
Paren has been mostly tuned out of the conversation, listening to the running water and enjoying a small feeling of home after the time away in the city. He gives a slight start when Finan mentions his name. "Huh... Oh yes... Of course Finan. Believe me, I have not forgotten you have my things. If we find trouble expect a loud yell for them, I'm afraid I've never been much good in a fist fight."

Spirits are high as the tunnel continues to turn. The sound of rushing water is much more apparent as suddenly the tunnel mouth opens into a large open cavern. A fast flowing stream rips through the center of the room and a makeshift bridge has been constructed over the water. The stream is roughly 15 feet wide and splits the cavern into to equal halves where your group finds themselves on the opposite bank of the continuing tunnel.
As you slowly take in the room, the air shifts around you as you hear 3 crossbows loose.
Knok finds 2 crossbowmen have targeted him while Tanni has been targeted by the final one. The attack is sudden and swift and it seems they may have heard you coming as your voices carry through the tunnels.
CB1 on Knok: Attack: 20 Damage: 3
CB2 on Knok: Attack: 8 Damage: 4
CB3 on Tanni: Attack: 20 Damage: 5
The sudden change in atmosphere takes the party by surprise and they see 2 husky humans on the opposite side of the bridge blocking the path with sword in had. The crossbowmen are standing on the opposite banks making it difficult to reach them unless you risk walking over the exposed bridge.
Knok grunts as the first bolt streaks past his shield and punctures his chainmail. His shrill goblin voice rises up, as he shouts defiance at the attacking crossbowmen, aiming his full vitriol at the one who succeeding in shooting him. "KNOK IS GOING TO MAKE SURE YOU REGRET THAT!"

(And here I was going to tell them to shut up in case of causing unwanted attention next :-p )
Jonathan will look surprised at the sudden arrival of several arrows at the group. He rushes as close as he can with the light source towards the front, raising his shield and preparing to parry any upcoming attacks. He will attempt to body cover for some others in the group until they are close enough to properly fight whatever vagabonds are up ahead.
The cavern is roughly sixty feet by sixt feet. You're about 20 feet away from the opening of the bridge and 40 feet away from the people on the other side of the bridge. The crossbowmen are roughly 45 feet away along the opposite shore.
"Don't stab me." Finan cries out he takes a step forward to stand alongside Paren, completely taken aback by the attack. In one smooth motion he pulls Paren's rapier from his pack and simply lets it fall on the ground at his feet. With his other hand in his pocket clutching the small twig he weaves magic with his words, his gaze trained on the attackers on the other side of the waterflow.
Mechanics & OOC:
OOC: Haha, I was waiting for that pokepaladdy
Turn: Move: Take a step forward to stand next to Paren Free: Draw Paren's rapier and drop it Action: Sleep on a point where I target at least 2 Humans (are there only 2 in sight? The post is not entirely clear as it mentions 3 assailants first, then 2): 25

Seeing Jonathan rush forward with his shield Paren does the same. He then puts his hand out behind his back. "Finan, now would be a great time for that sword!"
(Initiative: 24)
Looking back and seeing the sword on the ground he reaches down and picks it up before beginning to run across the bridge. "These are the only humans I want to stab! Promise!"
I figured handing Paren the rapier would cost my action? If I can do it with a bonus action I'll do that. And I'll move to a point adjacent to Paren too, if he starts running forward like a madman without a weapon ;)

Sorry for the OOC spam, and cheers Rylentlar!
In that case, if the crossbowmen are visibly Human (not Elven) I'll target them. I do apologize, I did not realize there were so many. Makes me consider if I maybe should have cast it at 2nd level to get a bit more oomph out of it... Completely at your discretion, Cromusz, I'll roll the extra 2d8 and let you decide. 7 No hard feelings on any decision, I didn't read correctly!
Sorry guys! I dispatch fuel trucks for my family business and one of my drivers just got hit by a car. I need to take care of this. Consider Knok on auto-pilot, Greenflame Blade if he gets across the bridge. Thanks!

I'm fine with you upcasting it. So that's 34HP worth of enemies asleep with the primary target being one with a crossbow.
As Finan's magic takes hold, he watches as one of the enemy crossbowman shifts in their stance slowly before dropping their crossbow into the rushing water. You watch as its quickly swept away downstream and out of sight. Then the crossbowman takes an awkward drowsy step and falls face first into the rushing stream that he stood too close too. The splash is rather muted by the sound of the rushing water. The current in the water is so rough that the victim is never seen again.
(You're left with 2 crossbowman and 2 swordsmen that you can see.)
As mentioned, Jonathan makes to advance to the bridge. (Are the swordsman within fighting range, or will he have to wait until next turn to engage? Base move 30')
