The massive creature is suddenly ensorcelled by Badger as he unleashes a spell on it that causes it to move sluggishly, as if underwater. The creature cranks around in anger. But then a blast of blue lightning rips through the foliage, the electricity arcing into the T-rex's body, burns and cracking flesh break open. (Lightning bolt save: DC 15: 7)
A flash of light from Silas slams into the dinosaur.
The zombie shuffles slowly towards the big thing, reaching it but is unable to attack.
Before the Zombie reaches its target, a blast of fire erupts in the jungle all around the creature, bright orange light filling the air. (Fireball save: DC 14 : 8) Then a dark shadowy creature appears behind the dinosaur.
Azaka moves like a shadow, taking cover, and fires at the glowing dinosaur, the arrow striking deeply as the thing roars, almost in slow motion.
The shadow creature tries to hamstring the T-rex, but it's shadowy jaws just grab at the things hard flesh.
Boris moves to intercept, but the dinosaur is too slow to get to anyone, and besides the ill omen is nearby, so it turns to chomp on it. (Boris, do you rush to attack it, or keep your distance?)
The T-rex reaches down with it's jaws, biting the shadowy wolf. Attack: 28 Damage: 34
It lifts the shadowy creature up into the air, the shadow wolf scrambling in it's jaws, shadow filling the air around it.

Blasts of fire, another hell hound, a brilliantly bright white strike of magic slams into the massive lizard. It's huge scaled form is burned, charred, and electrified and it's simply too much. Before the creature has a chance to do any more damage, it's huge tail and massive jaws drop limp and the whole form staggers and then drops to the ground. There's a massive thud and the ground shakes as the lizard succumbs to its wounds.
The jungle is on fire, smoking with flames, as two creatures born of black shadows slowly disperse. The crackling of burning moist wood and leaves is all that fills the sudden silence.
The group takes a few moments to collect themselves. After a few moments of sweat and heavy breathing from the sudden excitement, Azaka strides out from behind a tree, and starts walking away, looking for a place to camp that's sufficiently far from the carcass that will attract a lot of attention.
The evening you hear an unusual amount of activity in the jungle from back the way of the T-rex body. It's about a mile away, but you can still hear the sounds of fighting and death as animals fight to consume some of the massive things body. Shrieks and inhuman yells fill the night, making sleep very rough. Regardless, the group is otherwise unharmed. Spiders, snakes, and the like are almost ignored, or easily managed by the group as you break camp and continue the path south.
Around noon you begin to hear the sound of rushing water, and shortly thereafter begin to notice gaps in the jungle ahead. Soon enough the jungle parts to reveal a dead city enclosed by sheer cliffs. Ruined buildings and stone boulevards rise like ghosts from the floor of the misty basin. Colorful birds glide overhead. A waterfall pours into the basin, creating a swollen river that floods much of the city before draining into a deep rift filled with molten lava. A ruined palace lies a few hundred feet from the edge of the steaming abyss.
The cliffs surrounding Omu are anywhere from one hundred, to a hundred and fifty feet high and composed of crumbling rock. Thick jungle hugs the clifftops. with ferns, orchids. and moss spilling over the edges. Every 100 feet or so you notice a vine draped gargoyle perched on the cliff edge, glaring down at the ruined city. It has the face of a devil, with its mouth agape in a silent scream.
Down below is a riot of crumbling buildings and jungle vegetation. Buildings in Omu seem built from limestone. Thick, broad-leaved vines engulfmost structures, while ferns and thorny bushes choke the streets. Moving through the city will be an arduous and slow task.
Updated Map:
Your view of Omu from the cliff tops. You're on the north cliffs, about 300 feet to the west of the river.

Badger shades his eyes with his hand and wonders: Any sign of yuan-ti? Perception: 20
My prediction is that the Soulmonger is hidden in that important-looking round-shaped structure to the east, says Badger confidently, then rubbing his nose he adds: Although how to best reach it? There appear to be stairs in the far southwest corner, but that looks like another day of marching through the jungle. My suggestion is to cross the river to the west of here, then climb down the cliffs closer to that building. Or float down. Or teleport.

The jungle is practically overflowing into the city from the cliff top and it takes Silas only moments to find a suitable tree with a strong limb that stretches out over the cliff face. He spends a few moments climbing up the trunk and walking down the thick branch, using the thick leather straps to wind the pulley around the branch. He feeds the rope through and then hangs from his hands before dropping down to the cliff top.
The pulley and rope suitably ready, the group looks around for the valiant volunteer to go first.

Mandra scans the edges of the city, eyeing the ominous-looking gargoyles, lamenting the lack of information available to them in the library. "I can make a few people fly but it may be best to do things in a more mundane manner to preserve Arcane resources and avoid being noticed. I'm sorry I don't have any rope to offer." She motions her hands at her plain robes and lack of equipment.
She doesn't offer to go first, but when it's her turn to go down the rope she'll cast Invisibility on herself and 1 other person that looks like they would draw attention.
With the various ropes mended together magically, you begin to winch Ham down. Invisible, with one foot in a stirrup like loop, the rope slowly lowers him. As there's a slight slant to the cliff wall, he pushes off of the wall as he descends down. With very little rope left, you feel his weight leave the rope. Boris who is standing near the edge peering down the cliff says, "I think he's off." The rope is pulled up until the loop is available for the next person.
Mandra and Boris turn invisible. Boris is the next to descend. After Boris goes Mandra.
