With now 9 inches of slime covering the floor Mal finally levers a pick into the mechanism, pushing back a locking bolt, and the remnants of the lever clanks back up into its up position. The slime flow slows down....until only a bit of a dribble is coming out...and then finally ceases. Standing on a slowly undulating floor of slime, the group looks around the dark sealed room.
Without the slime pouring out, Sickle looks into the pipes and sees the all turn 'up' after about 2 feet. He figures he could form ice into the corner of the pipe that would be impossible to dislodge if he chose. (or Silas can push his nice pillows in there if he wants... :-). )
The group can still pull the lever if they want, even though it's broken off, you just have to grab the broken off base of the shaft to manipulate it.

Badger was too distracted with the voice in his head to hear Silas properly, but then as he snaps back to reality he nods with a mumble of agreement, and attempts Mending on the lever. It was getting a bit crowded around the control panel for a while there, and made worse by the fact that everyone had to stoop to reach the controls as the slime level rose. But with the immediate danger averted, he stops to take stock of the situation and summarise their discoveries:
So the lever produces the slime. We don't need to try that again, but perhaps we can get rid of it. The blue knob toggles the crystals and the blue button locks in the new setting and rotates the room. The red button lowers the door, but I don't know how to open it. And the red knob... that does something very interesting...
Badger will again rotate the red knob, first to the right and then to the left, and then think: Hello again?

Sacred flame did not affect the slime at all. There is still the matter of a steel slab blocking your exit, even if you reconfigure the rooms.
Badger uses magic and the lever is mended back together and seems as sturdy as before.

Badger stares silently at the wall, unresponsive to his companions, as he replies in his head: Yes, we are yet alive, and the slime has stopped for now. Are there any other rules you can enlighten me on? By what name may I call you?
While concentrating on the conversation, he will also attune his senses again to the arcane eye, moving it around the perimeter of the room(s) and through any open doorways, if visible in the darkness.

“You may call me G'lyh'rul, and there are many rules. So many. Mostly though the are covered by ‘don’t do anything’. That’s the most important rule. Don’t you agree?”
Focusing on the eye you see that some sort of mist has poured out of the north hall, and filled the bottom of the vegetation room. The vegetation seems to have come alive in the mist and large clumps of it are moving about. Moving the eye into the northern passage reveals a small room. Thick gas billows out of skull-shaped nozzles set into the walls of this cramped room. A rotting corpse clad in studded leather armor lies on the floor, mouth open and hands grasping its throat.
The eye floats out and down the passage to the east. It opens into a third large chamber as expected.
Five teak wardrobes stand against the ironclad walls of this chamber, each with a door bearing a carved image or scene. Puddles of gray slime cover parts of the floor. The room has one other exit, which has an portcullis blocking a passage to the north. Set into a metal plate above the portcullis is a row of five crystals shaped like drops of blood.
Badger moves the blue knob until the crystal lights up at position 3 again, and then presses the blue button. He nods to Sickle as if to show he is simply acknowledging the druid's request, but this is just a pretense, and he prepares to send the magic eye into the bottom right corner of the end room to explore the final corridor (the one represented by a butt-crack). Meanwhile, he tries to continue the conversation in his mind: If your most important rule is 'don't do anything' then what purpose do you serve, O G'lyh'rul?
(Also, Badger regained a 3rd level spell slot when he cast Arcane Eye, due to Expert Divination)

I would say Badger would best to stay behind with his eye but someone should stay with him,"

Grenk and Silas try to force the slab. Unfortunately it seems locked in place, is incredibly thick and heavy, and has slipped into some slight inset, giving practically no way to get real purchase on it. Plus, it's submerged 8 inches into this slime, which you're standing on. Try as they might, it seems impossible to force this steel slab open given the circumstances.
Meanwhile Badger toggles the blue switch and then presses the button and the grinding, grumbling sound of something large moving shakes the earth. Dust continues to settle from above.
He replies to the voice in his head, "Hey, wait, what's your name? You haven't told me your name, but I told you mine!" It seems to ignore his question.
(one comment...your eye could probably fly through the portcullis.)
With the final room rotating around the eye, he again sees little the passage reveal out to...now that the eye is a bit closer to the edge, it looks like...it looks into a vast cavern that surrounds the rotating rooms. The floor is entirely water. They must sit within some sort of underground lake. The passages rotate until they meet the other location and he checks it out with his eye. Its a passageway that extends down into darkness.

I am called Bâzşihir Dimwört, but you may call me Badger, the gnome replies telepathically. And I'm afraid 'don't do anything' is not going to get me any closer to safety, so I must disagree with you on that point. Excuse me one moment, I must consult with my colleagues.
Turning to his companions, Badger explains: When we do find a way out, be warned that things may have changed. He explains what he has seen so far through the magic eye. We may find ourselves contending with hostile vegetation, while still contending with this slime. Sickle, how long does this spell last, and can you cast it again? Badger tries to sound confident about opening the door, but knows they could also be stuck here until some other adventurers come along... which could be a very long time.
