No worries at all, it was currently Alivia's (TRS_Red's) turn, but has been for several days now...let's go ahead and skip the rest of her turn, in which case it's Tanser's turn. Has been moving slow unfortunately, hopefully we can get that remedied. May have to put a time limit on turns...if haven't replied in x amount of hours, goes to the next person, just so that the game can keep moving for those who are actively participating.
Tanser makes eye contact with the drow, whispers a few words of the arcane, and holds his hand out in a choking gesture. At the same time, a spectral hand appears (mage hand), its fingers wrapped around the drow's throat. "Help us and we may let you live," the old gnome hisses in Undercommon.

Thun you still have your turn on the surprise round. There are two other drow in this compound on a higher level (about 30 feet above your floor). You've also got the equipment on this floor if you'd like to spend your time gearing up.
If ther are still shackles within the group, Daerthe will take them and put them on the Drow that was clowed by the use of magic. After that she will grab herself a Handcrossbow, bolts and another shortsword if there is one left over after others arm themselves.
Thun decides to armor up, grabbing studded leather armor, a shield, 1 100ft coil of rope, 1 building hammer, and, a single bag of iron spikes. He spends the remainder of his time getting everything secured properly, looking for any kind of map, and readying his shield for any type of counter attack.
After the drow is shackled, Tanser moves the mage hand, curling all the fingers except for the index finger, which is placed against the drow's lips. "Shhhh," the old gnome says menacingly.
If no shackles are found:
Tanser maintains the mage hand around the drow's neck.
After either maneuver:
The old gnome steps forward and holds out his hand, asking for the book the drow was looking through.
Daerthe- you are able to obtain manacles from Eldeth, who was carrying a pair, and successfully shackle the drow. Thun- You properly equip yourself, but unfortunately cannot find any map in your search. Tanser — the terrified drow glances upwards towards the voices of his companions, too busy in combat with monsters to notice his predicament. He hands over a small tome, more of a notebook really. It appears to be an apprentices spellbook, containing the following spells:
If the rest of the party is quietly gearing up before any deeper assaults, Mars will grab 1 dagger, 2 cases of crossbow bolts - but none of the hand crossbows, as she is unfamiliar with these models - 1 bag of caltrops, and 1 coil of the silk rope. She will also do a quick search (Investigation:3) for any material components needed for a sleep spell: like a cricket (do Drow eat them as snacks or keep them as pets?) or if any adequately fine sand can be gathered from the rocky floor (Arcana: 10).
Mars will then wait for a go-ahead from any of her stealthier or bossier companions before acting, unless threatened.
OOC question:
What is the best way for PCs to handle ability checks like these? Should players assume which skills to roll, and the DM can ignore rolls that don't apply, make corrections, and grant advantage/impose disadvantage as appropriate?
Daerthe will put the edge of the shortsword next to the neck of the Drow as he is being held by the shackles and Mage Hand. "Tell them one of the creatures outside got into this room and you were killing it."
"I'm impressed you managed to take one down by yourself. There's plenty more to kill, though: if I don't see you out there taking more of these beasts down, Priestess Ilvara will have your head." the voice replies.
Tanser is collecting the pouch, pendant (can a character use another character's arcane focus?), and coins (adding them all to my inventory), when the call from above comes down, and Daerthe tells the drow what to say back. "No!" the old gnome says in a hushed Undercommon whisper, scowling at both the half-drow and the full drow. "This idiot wouldn't survive if one of those monsters got in here. Tell them you were scared and accidentally knocked over some weapons."
Nevermind. Took too long to post.
Tanser picks up the loot and begins to say something, but the drow calls up his response, which, luckily, worked.
Daerthe smirks and then moves to push the Drow forward with her hand, shoving him to the side and then looking for something to gag him with. "Make anymore noise and I will not be so nice as to let my blade stay still a second time...." She tells him before turning to the rest of the prisoners. "Grab weapons and armor if it will fit you. We know that there are more Drow upstairs so we should be prepared for a fight."
The other prisoners do as instructed, pillaging the remainder of the gear.
"We'll want to make our exit soon," Sarith mutters to Daerthe, grabbing a crossbow and a case of bolts. "When the guards are finished with the monsters, their only focus will be us."
Daerthe nods to Sarith, loading up her crossbow. "For now we need for stay with them. I known you don't like it but the larger the group the better our chances of getting out are. Let's just hope we can avoid the priestess..."

Tanser, let's go ahead with your turn.

The drow mage's eyes become extremely wide as he shakes, nodding very quickly.

Tanser then looks the drow up and down. "Empty your pockets," the old gnome says, snapping his long, slender fingers.
The drow shoves his hands in each of his pouches quickly, pulling everything out, manacles clanging loudly as he does so.
The noise could bring attention to the drow guards, though they are heavily engaged in combat. Stealth/noise check: 12 vs passive perception 14
Items now on the ground include:
Mars - the component pouch the drow mage dropped will have what you need.
OOC answer:
Yes, I believe that's the easiest way to do so, though I'm open for any suggestions.
Unfortunately the noise created had alerted the other two drow to your presence. A shout comes in undercommon, "Rislok! What's going on down there?"
Daerthe will put the edge of the shortsword next to the neck of the Drow as he is being held by the shackles and Mage Hand. "Tell them one of the creatures outside got into this room and you were killing it."
"It was one of the monsters," the drow gulps, his voice shaky as he stares at the sword. "It's dead now."
