Celtra will hold her sword at the ready and slowly back away from the vines as well urging the others to do the same. "What the bloody hell," she says out loud.
[I'm ruling that Bryn healed Cimeri so, Cimeri, you're at 5HP and conscious. Remember, half your move to get up from prone.]
[Cimeri is next, Then Bryn, then I'll post whether the assassin vine comes back or not. Then Fulcra, then Azaka ]
[Assassin Vine has fled 10 ft (yes, that's a dash) into the jungle. Bryn and Celtra would be clustered next to one another 10 feet from it at the edge of the jungle, no longer in difficult ground. Cimeri, Azaka, are together 20 ft from Bryn/Celtra, so 30 ft from vine. Fulcra, you're in a different location 30 ft from the vine. Taman, I think you moved 30, then cast, so you're 50 ft from Cimeri/Azaka/Fulcra, 70 ft from Bryn/Celtra, 80 ft from the vine which would be starting to disappear from view]
(I take it Cimeri is free and poison stopped working?)
Disoriented, wounded and poisoned tiefling raised up from the ground. The only words still ringing in her ears were Azaka's "back away". She found the river, summoned all her strength and rushed in that direction (away from the vines). (Half move + Dash = 60ft, right?)
Bryn would twist and writhe in frustration and a bit of panic just before the vine finally dropped her. She'd pick herself up off the ground a little disoriented and flustered. The druid would growl as she'd back away defensively, alongside Celtra. The growling would grow loud in her throat and she'd snap "Retreat." She'd wait for Celtra to turn and dash away to hopefully meet up with the rest of the group.
The assassin vine does not appear to be interested in its former prey. Everyone relaxes as it becomes clear that no vines are moving nearby.
Azaka seems confused and incredulous. "This is not normal," she says quietly. Her body relaxes slightly and she looks about. Finally she checks the sky above the trees and seems to understand.
"Either your spell worked," she says to Taman, "or the vine was afraid of being eaten. I was not aware... maybe they can sense plant eaters," she says, pointing above the tree line. The short battle clearly had taken all of your attention; the head of a large brontosaurus, grazing on the succulent leaves of the jungle canopy, is visible above the greenery.
Azaka sighs. "Either way, this camp is no longer usable; if we sleep here, that vine will return and strangle us in our beds. It is late, and we need a new camp. We are in peril. I seek to not be out in the jungle at night." She crosses her arms. "I will go. Wait here. I will return shortly. Stay by the canoe. If trouble comes, stay off the bank."
With that, she is gone from sight into the jungle...
She returns roughly a half hour later, as the sun begins to set. "Come. You and you," she says, pointing to Celtra and Bryn,"we must haul the canoe over our heads. We must make haste."
Azaka leads you into the forest as the light grows dimmer and dimmer; she makes no move to create light, and soon you find yourselves in front of a small cave created by tumbled boulders that penetrates into the side of a ridge in the jungle.
"This will have to do. Do not go in far. It goes a ways in, I have only checked a few paces in. At least this is defensible and we can watch for that vine at the cave mouth... as long as nothing comes at us from behind..."
You peer into the darkness of the cave... and do what?
Still shaken (weak and sick) Cimeri gave a light smile: "I saw Magister Taman destroying a ghost, plant had to be nothing." But smile faded away quickly and Cimeri concentrated on one thing - keep herself together until Azaka will be back. It was no time to feel weak and burden others any further, and she was using the short pause to recover. At least poison turned out to be of a short lived one - Cimeri's natural colour was back, only pain remained. And when Azaka returned, tiefling was ready to run with others.
"Should we keep two guards up then? One watching jungles, and one - the path inside the cave? I can stay the first watch."Wounded or not, she will share group's guarding duty.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As soon as they regrouped, Bryn would look Cimeri over. She'd cup her hands and repeat the same druidic chant she did last night to conjure some berries.
(Celtra found some fruit? How many people could that sustain for today? I'm imaging that Bryn would offer extra berries to Cimeri for healing and her bird. But would distribute berries for nourishment to others if we dont have enough for today.)
OOC: this is an eternal DnD question - can you eat several berries at once or not? Because it provides nourishment for a day.
"Thank you," Cimeri bowed her head. "And for saving me earlier too." She gratefully accepted a berry, gave one to the bird and to the goblin (even if he was still bound - if he was - he needed to eat). "Can we use the jug? Water would be most welcomed now."
Celtra would gladly accept a berry. Stuffing it into her mouth she would savor what ever taste it had. She then goes about taking the sharpened sticks that she had made earlier and setting the at the back side of the camp facing into the cave. When done she says, "There should provide at least some piece of mind. Though doesnt do much if we need to be aware of a snake or something... Anyways, I would proba fly do best at first or last watch if we aren't creating any light."
Taman would send Sabastian back into the tunnel, to scout 100 feet in and see what it can see.
"I am having Sabastian check further into the cave." Taman tells the others. "Better to know if something is back there now than when it attacks in the night." He then fills them in on what he learned from the goblin, and even unties the little guy with a stern, "If you betray us I will feed you to the vines next time. You can help be our scout as long as you remain true to us."
Fulcra listens to the river lapping agains the shore. He hears the buzz of the insects as they swarm about he jungle. As the group pushes back to the cave, he sees Taman send his familiar. Fulcra continues to watch those around him. He considers telling a flippant story about a ocean wave but eventually lets it go and prepares to defend the group from either direction.

It’s only 1 HP per berry, maximum 10 berries generated so you can eat more than one And gain extra HP but the nourishment only lasts the one day, not several.
Just beyond where Azaka had looked, Sebastian finds that the cave has collapsed; Sebastian finds no evidence that the cave is unstable, however. There are also no major signs of life, other than snakes and bugs and bats.

"I have very few spells left." Taman says with a glance to the others. "I feel a stop at the camp would give us a chance to catch our breath before we continue onward."

Celtra and Bryn are freed, and the vines begin slowly receding into the trees.
Fulcra prepares another Fire Bolt in case the creature starts to advance again.
