Avia looks at what remains of the ores on the walls of mine, she is able to see traces of gold ore and some other metal that initially appears to be iron-black, except more lustrous.
At the same time, Kysdiane offers more than onetype of aid in the analysis of the triangular stones.
Lia examines the walls around her immediate area. The differences are slight, but comparing where the triangular stones (and the circular ones behind them) and the rest of the mine, the are there. Mainly, what catches her eye are the general textures.
The wall by the stones are unmarred by mining tools, but still appear quite rough. In fact, she could argue that the walls of the rest of the mine were more smooth in texture than the part where the stones are emerging from, despite the marks made by the mining tools.
Gulgus and Kysdiane take a look at the triangular stones. After a little bit of deliberation, they come tot he conclusion that they are very likely not stones, but bones. considering their size, they may have come from a very large creature. However, what kind of creature they are from eludes them.
Avia takes a hammer and piton to get a sample of the old bone. Since bone is harder than she expected and she used unorthodox tools for the job, she manages to break off a small piece about half the size of her thumb.
Feeling that they have exhausted all the mine has to offer, the party returns to the elevator. Most of the facility has been explored so far. The last floor, whose button is labelled "AERODYNAMICS," is the only one unseen.
Kysdiane heads back to the elevator and looks at the buttons with a frown. There wasn't much left to figure out, so he let his finger hover over the button for "AERODYNAMICS" as he turned to the group and said, "Any objections?" If there are none, then Kysdiane waits for the rest of the group to join him in the elevator before pressing the button for the last floor.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
After conferring with the party, Kysdiane presses the final button on the elevator. This final ride takes a long time and is filled with the creaks and moans of metal, but is shorter than the last one. Soon, at long last, the elevator comes to a stop with a heavy THUD!
A few seconds later, the doors open in front of them. Almost immediately, they are hit by what seems to be intense, sustained, storm-force winds as magical lights flicker lazily on overhead, revealing a 100-foot long, 15-feet wide hallway, containing piles of heavy rubble and shallow alcoves. It ends with a wall with a large, long window. Under the window is a similarly long instrument panel with a number of knobs, levers and gauges, and a slowly blinking white light next to one of the levers.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gulgan
"This contraption be about as noisy as two skeletons dancin' on a tin roof and makes me as nervous as a woodshed waiter!" Gulgus exclaims on the ride down. He then curses, "Gordul!" as he's hit in the face with the wind.
Anybody else want to look around?
