"You seem sure" Axon says falling in line with the others, Shepherd at his side. "What do you think the properties of this apple are" he poses to the others as they walk.
Nasaar shrugs and glances to the person leading this little expedition. "What I would like to know is what is at the end of all of these tests. Any clues there?"
"A hidden city full of treasure, that's what at the end of all...this?" Kierran says, "Wasn't expecting trials, just thought it'd be like a treasure map. Follow some directions and we'd find a city full of treasure. Make a better route to the ship and we can all sail away richer. How was I supposed to know the place still had people about?"
The ground starts to become more solid as you all near the mountain. The loose dirt slowly being replaced with solid stone. The trees started to decline but smaller fauna has taken their place, sprouting wherever they can. Mushrooms also start to appear more often, growing larger and larger as you approach the mountain.
(And just a heads up, I will be trying to kill Connor.)
"And I get to see what's so special about the amulet." Kierran says as he follows Sylvester and Rusty.
When the mountain starts to loom over you more, you see more of the fungus, overtaking the fauna. Leeching off long dead plants or carcasses of beasts, they've grown to unusual sizes. The party finally comes to the mountain, the base of it opening up to reveal a wide cave entrance, filled with more mushrooms. Kierran loosens his clothes as he seems sweaty, "Humid like a swamp..." As he keeps going, he takes a step into the cave. And a shrilling scream fills the cave. Kierran draws his scimitar by instinct, looking for the source of the scream.
As they were journeying, Kastor would like to keep an eye out for any interesting flora. Anything that's new to him, or anything he knows might have any medicinal properties, or just simple things that might add flavour to his brews.
Nature: 17 (I assume that's a nature check, if it's Survival, add another 4 to it)
You recognize none of the fauna. While some resemble some plants, they varied in size, color, and distinctions, making for a whole new plant. While some of them may seem similar, its hard to determine if any do same medicinal traits unless taken.
(More to the point, these fauna were supposedly grown with demon's blood, so it'll be hard to replicated or cultivated.)
"Vono said there's no animals..." Kierran says as the screaming continues. The scream sounds more human like rather than bestial. And the jungle and the cave remain motionless, no signs of movement besides the group.
@ Sylvester
You manage to pinpoint the origin of the shriek. It's coming from one of the bigger mushrooms, the man sized ones. It's hardly any different from any of the smaller or bigger mushrooms, but you can tell it's coming from it.
"Should we cut it down then?" Nasaar asks, frowning at the thing. "No doubt everyone inside knows we are here, if there is anyone inside to be warned..."
"It has not attacked us, just shrieked, why would we attack it?" Axon stood straight up to his full height, his sword arm and shield dropping a bit, genuinely confused.
Kierran takes a quizzical look at the mushroom. Then back tracks a bit. After a moment, the mushroom stop shrieking. "...I mean...can plants hear? Besides being surprising, it's just screaming. I'd cut it down since its annoying and its just a mushroom anyway."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kastor approaches the mushroom as quietly as possible whilst it's not screaming, to investigate it further.

(Does it look similar to any kind of more common mushroom? Like it's been mutated? Is it a giant mushroom with a person trapped inside it? If so, can he tell where the person might be within it so that we can try and cut down the plant without harming them? Or is it just some weird giant screaming mushroom that Kastor doesn't remotely recognise?)

Hari shrugs. "There are always trials before the reward. How else would you earn it?" she says simply.

"City of treasure sounds good to me." Nasaar says with a nod of acceptance. He continues along, ready to face the trials.

"What the..." Nasaar says at the shrill scream. He too looks for the source of it.

The devastation of our clandestine endeavor should be considered an attack. We should prepare for additional threats and cease this auditory offense.
Rusty readies his weapons to attack the mushroom once the group reaches a consensus.
