About 50 feet into the passage, it starts to open up. The passage widens and the ceiling goes up, making a more open area. The passage ends after another 30 feet and the owl sees a cove. A river flows through with giant lilypads lazily floating along it.
Axon waited nearby while the Familiar scouted, he was used to this part, he had seen it done in the war. Falling back on old habits he began checking his equipment for damage, and when he found none he began working with his tools.
"Seems like the water passage is a bust." Nasaar tells the others, summoning his familiar back to his side. the owl appears on his shoulder, gripping the padded area there as it settles its weight onto Nasaar's muscular shoulder. "Shall I try to send him down another passage?" He asks the others, glancing to the three remaining as he asks. He nods to the one with little to no mushrooms in it. "Shall I send him there, just to see if we can mark it off as a non-option?" He asks. "Or do you think one of the others would be better to try first?"
Nasaar runs a hand up over the owl's feather's, soothing it needlessly, as it seems quite at ease already.
Down the path with little to no mushrooms in it. Should just leave the one with big mushrooms and the one with the mushrooms over dead bodies unexplored.
With the owl's darkvision, nothing really stands out in the passage. With the exception of most of the mushrooms being dead while only few patches are there. It is rather a bleak passage. After 80 feet, the passage ends with a cliff. With the owl's sharp sight, it can see the cliff drops off into another passage with a 20 foot drop. Going further is not possible, as it passes 100 feet and you will lose the telepathic connection.
"That way is a possibility, there are ways down, but we will need to do some climbing." Nasaar tells the others. He nods to the path with the dead bodies and mushrooms growing from them. "I'll send my familiar down that path next, maybe there is a easier path than the cliffs we would have to climb down that last tunnel." He summons his fmailiar back, and sends it down the third tunnel, leaving only the one with the larger mushrooms left.
Tiny spores fill the passage as the owl flies down it. Further down, the owl can see the giant spores the party encountered near the entrance. A few spores burst near the familiar.
Con save for owl, DC 10. On fail, take no damage.
The passage goes on for quite a bit. Its hard to tell if its descending or going upward. But going further does put the familiar at risk, as the giant spores lazily floated throughout the passage.

(Basically, about 60 feet in, there are a score of giant spores in this passage. They show no reaction to the owl. But if the owl continues, it is possible that the spores would reach it. If you wish to continue, then it counts as a slight fight for the owl.)
"More of those giant spores in there, I should have the owl check the other passage before trying to go further down this one." Nasaar says, summoning the owl back. he sends it down the final tunnel, the one with the giant mushrooms along it.
Down the final passage, it was wide and tall enough to hold a forest of mushrooms. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until one of the giant mushrooms moved. Then as the owl carried on, it could see more mushrooms moving about. Easily big enough to rival humans and more than a few larger ones. They lumber back and fourth slowly, sometimes staying still, emitting dull spores from their caps. A few notice the owl flying above but they don't seem to do anything but emit some different colored spores. About 80 feet in, there's a blockade of sorts. Made of the giant mushrooms, it blocks the way forward. By the blockade are two of the giant mushroom things, like guards at a gate.
"So, it is either the giant-mushroom path, which will be a battle as we move forward, or the path with the giant spores." Nasaar says with a frown. "I cannot send the owl further along either of those paths without having it possibly be harmed." He summons it back to his side. "Which path would you like to try?" He asks the others.
(You do know, you guys can just climb down the cliff one, right? I never said it was slick. Even if you guys decide to just jump it, it's just 2d6 damage to you.)

yes please. Nasaar will ready an action to summon it back to him if any danger is noticed by the owl as he looks through its eyes.

Nasaar directs the owl to fly around and see if he can spot any passages that lead downward.

The passage ended with the cove. No other passage way is connected to the cove.

A non-corporeal entity investigating possible paths and dangers preserving our party from risk would be my recommendation.

Hari looks thoughtful. "I would prefer the large mushroom path, and a proper battle."
