They have very different styles. The chest is extravagantly made with mother-of-pearl inlays and gold trim. The wall relief is carved from stone and made to depict a scene or story. There appears to be no real link between the holes in the carving and the chest.

Delirious is interested in the chest that the crew can't currently open. "I don't have any skills or tools that may help open that chest, but I do have this handaxe if to want me to rough it up a bit and see what comes of it?"
"Lets circle around and come back to it, Delirious- that's about how i'd open the damn thing, but we might make too much noise and there's no telling what is still down here in this rats nest.", Hordkhen echoes Delirious' sentiments in a hushed voice as he starts off to follow Lyria Stealth 7 Perception 15
The chamber that opens at the bottom of the stairs is immense. A wide ledge runs along the left wall and drops away to a pit on the right. Many stalactites descend from the ceiling, and the sound of dripping water echoes continuously. There is no light source here, however, so those with darkvision only see 60' ahead and those without see nothing.
Nobody sees shit, except Hordkhen who notices that this chamber, much like the Drake Nursery, has a staircase enclosed by a jail-cell-type structure with the key plainly hanging on the North wall opposite them. The area below appears to be about 15' down, and various stalagtites and 'mites are scattered about the ceiling and floor respectively. Your darkvision does not reach to the edges of the chamber, and you don't see anything strange or anything moving.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Delirious will go aquire the key on the wall and unlock the door to the staircase. "If you can't see me, follow my voice and the sounds that happen when unlocking a metal door. Proceed with caution the door leads to stairs."
Hordkhen pours a flask of oil into a lamp he pulls from his pack, slides the dumb end of his blade along the dull walls to mete out spark to tinder, and sets the lamp up running. He hooks it between his plate and arming coat and tweaks the wick- "...now how about that..?" he gestures to the key and takes a few steps in closer to get a better look at it and to see if he can see down below.
Place' and Kamag advance stealthily, and Hordkhen lights a lantern for the darkvision-impaired, allowing them to move only half as far as Delirious who strides ahead into the darkness toward the obvious key. Once inside the chamber you notice a second drop-off on the far east side of it, and Hordkhen peers down the south drop-off and notices two large eggs, about 3' tall, among the stalagmites, but still cannot see to the edges of the cavern to the South. (Nature check DC 10 to determine the type of egg.)

nature check 4 side note my nature check is -1 i know its like intellectual knowledge of nature but as a druid can i roll animal handling instead, i'm fine with whatever you want but a -1 to identifying a type of egg as a druid just seems weird to me, if so animal handling 15
It was a low DC for nature, but your roll didn't help, lol. Either way, Animal handling is more the catch-all interaction with actual beasts, since you wouldn't use persuasion, intimidation, insight, or deception and has nothing really to do with identifying the type of animal, nest, or egg something is. Those 4 skills are for interactions with humanoids that would have similar languages, mannerisms, etc. Now, if you were able to communicate with beasts, then you could use one of the 4 personal interaction skills, but I digress. Yes, it is a little odd that a Druid would have a negative to the Nature skill, but... it is one the skills available to Druids. Maybe you've spent more time in towns than you'd like? Or perhaps you've simply never seen that type of egg before.
Kod:
The eggs are easily identified as black dragon eggs.
Simultaneously, Delirious gets the key and starts heading to the stairs, Hordkhen and Kod look out over the dark pit to the South, which looks like it makes up more than half this chamber, and the rest of the party advances. Kod opens his mouth to declare what type of eggs they look like, when all of you hear: Whip, Whip, Whip whip. You turn toward the noise instinctively and see from somwhere below the drop-off to the East, four small clay jars are hurtling toward your direction. I need Delirious and Hordkhen to EACH make 4 separate DEX Saves.
Initiative coming soon. Feel free to roll your own in the interim and I will use your roll if you do.

I can't see anything. Does anyone have a torch? Someone else take the lead please. Lyria holds out her arms looking for guidance.

"I can see, if light cannot be produced I can take point for a while."
Delirious moves to the front and takes a look around. If nobody has a torch or method of producing light, Delirious will take point.
Kamag moves up and as he passes Lyria whispers "Hang back, we may yet need more of your blessings."
He looks ahead into the darkness, attempting to move quietly.
