Ian will first take a quick bath. Then he will hang out at the bar and gather information. He will chat with Three Strings as well as part of that information gathering. If any opportunities present themselves, Ian will use seduction, persuasion, or sleight of hand to further some information gathering. He is interesting in hearing the whisperings about Zhents, Xanathar, and other details.
Please give me an Investigation check. If there is anything Ian wishes to learn privately, please PM me the details. Otherwise I will post the results to the main forum.

Investigation: 5
While Ian hears a great deal about increasing violence between the gangs, the tension in the streets, and even the mysterious kidnapping and rescue of Renaer and Floon, he does not learn anything he did not already know.
This assumes several hours of investigation. Before the day ends, you may attempt one more Investigation check. You may also assist, or be assisted by, another party member.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After (presumably) taking a long rest and cleaning off sewer gunk, Akai will spend the early and late hours of the day keeping an ear out for any information regarding nearby underground realms that are vacant or potentially conquerable. He will stay in his quarters and out of bright light during the noon hours.
Gregor rejoins the others a few hours later. Along with a new tailored half-cape now covering his ring hand, he has discovered the name and address of one Faila Ramando, a half-orc silversmith resident in the Southern Ward. Telling her that a friend of her cousin recommended her to you will get you a special price on silver, such as the trade bars the party has looted.
"I have it on good authority that the bars should be worth 50 dragons each under normal conditions. Miss Ramando, by all accounts, could get us 75 per bar."

"Hmm ok, I'll be ready to head out with you to meet the silversmith tomorrow in the morning." Irma said.
Assuming there is no further discussion, after dinner and a drink Irma will head up stairs to long rest.
Akai chortles in good cheer at this news. "Good, good," he says approvingly. "More coin means more supplies for conquest, and Akai has heard of deep realms in need of a ruler." He begins making his way back to his quarters. "Akai will leave the sale of bars to you - after we drive the spirit out and claim our hall, we must plan to delve into tunnel-paths! For battle and glory, kahah!"
Like Irma, Akai will toddle off for a long rest if there is no more to discuss.
After a wash and rest, Falshen will plan to follow up on Gregor's tip and sell his 3 trade bars (inviting any companions who wish to come along after breakfast).

Rising the next morning entirely refreshed and strangely invigorated, your band of improbable comrades tackle the business of the day - cashing in on some silver bars, and inspecting your new property in Trollskull Alley.
Gregor’s tip proves profitable. The silversmith in the Southern Ward pays handsomely for each silver bar, even a little more so than expected. Please replace the silver bars in your inventory with 80 gp apiece.
Next, they accompany Volothamp to the Castle Ward to meet with a tiefling magistrate, Kylynne Silmerhelve, who witnesses the transfer of the deed. She also collects an estate transfer tax of 25 gp, which is normally paid by the new owners, but in this case is covered by the good graces of Renaer Neverember, who, though he regretfully cannot join you, extends this gesture of gratitude through the agency of the voluble Volo.
Thence proceeding to the North Ward, you come at last to Trollskull Alley.
Four stories tall and boasting balconies, a turret, and five chimneys, Trollskull Manor is one of the grandest sights in the neighborhood. Within, however, it is sadly neglected. The tavern’s taproom is filled with broken furniture, tarnished silverware, casks of wine that have turned to vinegar, and worthless detritus. The other rooms are all empty, except for cobwebs, dust, and rats.
A floor plan of Trollskull Manor has been posted in the Facebook group.
Along with a mixture of middle-class residences, the area is home to four other commercial establishments.
The Bent Nail sells furniture, bows, arrows, staves, shields, and various carpentry. A small wooden sign above the shop’s main door is bare except for a large, bent nail sticking out of it. Talisolvanar “Tally” Fellbranch, the owner and chief artisan of the Bent Nail, is a male half-elf.
Steam and Steel is a smithy and vendor of all manner of ironmongery. Smoke and steam billow from its windows all hours of the day. It is run by a fire genasi named Embric and a water genasi named Avi.
Fala Lefaliir, an herbalist and a member of the Guild of Apothecaries and Physicians, operates Corellon’s Crown, a stately, three-story townhouse, the third floor of which has been converted into a greenhouse. Its translucent glass walls allow anyone on the street to see the rainbow of flowers blossoming within. In addition to non-magical herbal remedies, Fala sells potions of healing.
Book Wyrm’s Treasure is adorned with a charming sign of a gold dragon curled around a treasure hoard of books and scrolls. Inside, the shop is decorated with beautiful hardwood, and the earthy scent of old books permeates the air. The bookstore fills two floors of this three-story building, and somehow seems to contain more shelves than the building should be able to hold.
Their various errands, and their inspection of Trollskull Manor, bring our five friends to dusk of Day 3.
Irma speaks to the group, "Well friends, I believe now is as good a time to see if our new Tavern Base has poltergeist squatter. I have a few spells I'd like to try out."
”Let’s hold off on anything that would draw out the animosity of our ghastly roommate. Perhaps he can be reckoned with. Of course, however, if he proves recalcitrant, then by all means go full exorcist on our phantasmal neighbor.”
Ian continues,
”I believe that Volo said that this place had rats getting at the stores and bats in the attic. So I think we should be on pest control alert as well.”
Gregor nods, "I have a few spells I'd like to work on from the book we obtained from the Guild. Once I'm done, I will join you in rat catching."
[If there is time before plot happens Gregor will try to master Unseen Servant (50 GP), Burning Hands (50 GP), and cast Find Familiar(10 GP plus however much it will cost to get a brass brazier. As he's discovered the workings of the Identify spell, he'll also be on the lookout for a 100 GP pearl.) 210 GP total +Brazier and 3 hours time.]

Ian will retire for the evening at the Yawning Portal after having failed miserably in his investigations.

Upon taking a Long Rest, all characters attain Level 2!
In knowing the teachings of Zerthimon, you have become stronger.
After a wash and rest, Falshen will plan to follow up on Gregor's tip and sell his 3 trade bars (inviting any companions who wish to come along after breakfast).
Gregor will accompany.
Ian will join the merry band of heroes.
Level 2 hp increase: 7
Akai will follow along after all. A little extra (arcane) muscle wouldn't hurt, if only to make sure that the transaction goes smoothly.
