Ooc: I had mentioned using the almanac to discover the most likely date back in the council meeting, and sent Avalloc as a messenger. I had mentioned to the council that I would send him as a messenger when we discovered the ship, so that implied some sort of "send him to this location from the mansion to receive backup" plan
Josh did at one point tell the council to have their town watch members keep an eye out for Avolloc. Given that Avolloc has been operating in the same area for the past half a week, there is a chance then that town watch is aware that you are operating out of this mansion and may have had someone in the bay who spotted the Sea Ghost. Time will tell :P

As Caspia talks to the lizardfolk, their leader exclaims to his two companions in draconic, <Knock them out and capture them! I am tired of excuses, we will take the ship for ourselves and complete the delivery! The fate of our clan depends upon this!> The leader then attempts to hit Caspia with a club and knock her back with a shield.
Lizardfolk 1 Heavy Club Attack: 18 Damage: 4
Lizardfolk 1 Shove Contest: 10
Caspia Shove Contest: 21
Caspia easily uses her arms to parry the attack while knocking the shield off course. The triton is able to hold her position in the door. The remaining lizardfolk grab javelins from their bunks, take up flanking positions in their small room, and throw them at Caspia.
Lizardfolk 2 Javelin Thrown Attack: 19 Damage: 4
Lizardfolk 3 Javelin Thrown Attack: 15 Damage: 3
One of the javelins sinks deep into Caspia's exposed blue arm, while the other clatters harmlessly off the door. The apparent leader of the lizardfolk shouts at his breathern, <Flank around you fools!> In the dim light Caspia is able to see further into the ship, but unable to make out significant details, as the two lizardfolk retreat around the corner throwing doors open.
Gulin shouts at the others. "Kill the first! I'll...
Hold.
The.
Door."
He grabs the next door to the south (not the one leading downstairs) by whatever means, and puts his strength into not letting it open (not sure how it's hinged, if it opens inward, he'll set a handaxe handle through/around the handle and keep it pulled taut. If it opens outward, shoulder in.)
Zi can hear the dwarf whispering, "By Saint Hodor the Door Holder, you will not pass."

Between Reynnar's arrow and Caspia's quick slashes, the leader of the lizardfolk is quickly dispatched. He falls dead to the ground. Caspia hears a shriek emit from the corner of the lizardfolk's chamber. Peering in on one of the cots Caspia notices a small nest contained a reptilian animal with wings. It continues to shriek and hiss with hostility at Caspia, but it does not move from its nest.
Gulin braces himself against the second door. The sound of rushing footsteps can be heard and moments later someone attempts to jiggle the doorknob to open it. After a few moments of fumbling with the door, a heavy force impacts the door from the other side. Zi takes a few steps back readies her cantrip--toll the dead--to be utilized on the first enemy that comes into vision.
Lizardfolk 2 Athletics Check: 14
Gulin is knocked back as the door swings open. The lizardfolk who bashed the door open moves out of the way to make room for his compatriot as a loud bell tolls.
Lizardfolk 2 Saving Throw (DC 13): 17
Toll the Dead Damage (1d8): 3
Black veins form on the face of the lizardfolk as he hisses in pain.
The last lizardfolk rushes through the now open door and attacks Gulin with his jaws and a spiked shield.
Lizardfolk 3 Bite Attack: 9 Damage: 6
Lizardfolk 3 Spiked Shield Attack: 22 Damage: 3
The dwarf manages to dodge out of the way, but the lizardfolk's teeth sink into skin exposed on Gulin's hand.
Gulin holds back the shield attack with the haft of his hammer, but takes a nick on his hand as the lizard head pokes over. Grimacing, he maneuvers to attack the same creature that Zi's magicks affected, hoping to fell the creature.
Reynnar slips away from his opponent. He then gets into a firing position on the middle of the north railing, and fires at the northernmost lizardfolk engaged with Gulin.
Attack: 7 Damage: 10
After firing, he shouts <Please, drop your weapons and we won't have to kill you. It doesn't have to end like this!>
Gulin's hammer slams down on the injured lizardfolk, whilst Caspia's blows and Reynnar's arrow sails wild.
Zi once again gathers her strength and casts toll the dead at the injured lizardfolk.
Lizardfolk 2 Saving Throw (DC 13): 3
Toll the Dead Damage (1d12): 8
A bell rings and the lizardfolk begins coughing up a vile black blood like substance. The lizardfolk take in the situation, look at each other, and communicate to each other with just a nod over the shoulder. Suddenly both of the lizardfolk are rushing towards the edge of the Sea Ghost. A thunder rings in the air as the energy dissipates around the lizardfolk Gulin hit. The lizardfolk suddenly and mysteriously drops dead. Gulin gets a swing at the other lizardfolk before he leaps off the side of the Sea Ghost.
Gulin Two-handed Warhammer Attack of Opportunity: 18 Damage: 12
The warhammer cracks down hard on the lizardfolk's leg, and you hear bones snap. Moments later the lizardfolk has disappeared over the side of the ship. You hear a loud splash. Running over to the side of the Sea Ghost you are unable to see the lizardfolk in the dark ocean below. The battle appears to be over unless you wish to give chase to the remaining lizardfolk.

Gulin rushes to the railing, and tosses a trailing firebolt into the water near where the Lizardfolk might have landed.
Attack: 1 Damage: 4
"Ach, let em go. Everyone all right? We should make sure no other surprises await... I can alarm around the anchor to make sure no one tries anything..." he looks out to the ocean, "... Fishy"
Gulin leans way over the railing and attempts to cast a firebolt, but he is unable to see the lizardfolk in the dark ocean at night. Either the lizardfolk is using the ship to break line of sight, or the distance the lizardfolk was able to travel was great enough that combined with the ocular distrotions caused by the ocean below the dwarf is just unable to locate the lizardfolk. Nevertheless, the firebolt arcs off into the water. Whether it hit or missed the target, Gulin doesn't know for sure.
Zi looks over at Gulin, "Good idea, we wouldn't want the ship moving on us when we are below-decks. Maybe that is the end of the fighting? I suggest we quickly scan over these rooms the lizardfolk opened for us while Gulin sets up his alarm."
Caspia watches the water a minute more before turning away.
"I could probably catch them on open water, but we are too close to shore for my liking."
She walks back to examine the tiny winged dragon thing that hissed at her. She keeps enough distance between them to avoid any biting.
"Reynnar, can you make anything of this since you speak their language? My knowledge is limited to ocean-dwelling creatures. It is cute, but seems like it might bite my fins if given a chance."
Caspia returns to the lizardfolk's quarters. A distinct odor about this room reminds you of a marsh or a swamp — not fetid, not oppressive, but certainly noticeable.
In the center of the area is a wood table, bolted to the deck. On the table sits a silver jug half full of a red liquid; with it are three pewter mugs. Around the table are set three upright wooden chairs, and an unlit hooded lantern hangs from the ceiling above.
In the gloom, you can see three hammocks — one at each end of the cabin slung between the bulkhead and one of the ship’s ribs, and the third hanging across the corner of the cabin from next to the aft door to the central bulkhead. The hammocks are no longer occupied.
A small chest or box of some sort lies under the most forward hammock. Next to the chest is a small nest with the winged lizard. With its red-brown scales, horns, and a maw filled with sharp teeth, the tiny creature resembles a miniature red dragon. The creature does not move from its nest or attack.
Upon Caspia entering the room, the tiny lizard emits a loud hiss and Caspia's mind is bombarded with what is best described as a limited psychic vision with accompanying emotions. In fact, the emotions and vision are so strong that everyone senses the psychic energy projecting from the tiny lizard. The strong emotion is a mixture of grief--perhaps for the loss of a loved one or very close comrade--and extreme anger towards a psychic vision of a grotesque blueish monster wielding a pair of cruel curved blades.
Zi playfully speaks up, "Ouch, that image is a bit unflattering. Whatever it is, it seems pretty pissed with Caspia. But don't worry, I don't think you are a monster Caspia."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Oh, it doesn't like ya much, does it lass? Maybe I have some food from Ned's house that it might be interested in."
Gulin pokes his head into the door, taking a look at the creature to attempt to determine what, exactly, it is. And perhaps, what it might like to eat.
Gulin retrieves a few pieces of dried jerky, and some dried fruit, from his bag of holding, and hands them to Reynnar. "Here, lad. See if you can coax the critter. You probably have a better touch then I, especially if you speak its language."

"I have some minor healing left as well," Caspia whispered to her companions.
Caspia moves into place on one side of the door while quietly motioning for her companions to take their place on either side of the door.
I'm going to assume everyone moved into place is in place to help bottleneck the door way.
"Aye, Lizards, we cannot locate the maps we need to get this cargo to it's destination. Can one of you assist us so we may be on our way?"

"First I get called a blue elf, now a monster. Toss it some food, Gulin. I'm going to try and get that chest next to it."
