Assuming the larger buildings are part of some sort of plan, Simeon studies them, trying to associate them with their real-life counterparts. (Investigation with guidance: 8 + 3
It is difficult to glean any further purpose from the model, but Simeon does recognize the structures of the model that carry such detail. Most are the inns and taverns of the city, but two stand out from those: The Miner's Exchange in the dwarven section of the city, and the Temple of Kayel. Strangely, the other temples in the city are not modeled as accurately.
Abraxas stands up straight. He walks slowly around the model. "I'm not sure," he says, but he is thinking about it, mentally sorting through the history of Lyrikav that he's picked up (9) and similarly through what he knows about the religion of Kayel (15).
You don't recall much about these locations, other than the fact that the dwarven population of Lyrikav do most of the city's mining. Kayel is the god of strength and battle. During your time studying Lyrikav, you have heard of statues outside of the city that are said to be watched closely by him.
“You mentioned the clasps we found. What if we put those in the model around the areas of focus? I know it sounds odd, but let’s try seeing how they function together. Just thinking out loud.” Garu states.

Harmony was very surprised by the paper model, impressed by it and how it's an exact replica of Lyrikav. She listened to the others, honestly having no idea what to think about this all before hearing Simeon, nodding back. She would have followed Simeon if nothing happens because of what Abraxas and Garu did with the clasps.
When Abraxas places the fifth clasp over the fifth detailed location in the model, it begins to glow - faintly at first, then illuminating to the point that your eyes cannot recognize any individual structure within the model. The glow continues to get brighter, blinding. The walls of the room fade as the glow overtakes your vision.
The glow is gone. The four of you are standing in a vast darkness that slowly takes the shape of a dark forest, familiar to Abraxas and Harmony but a new sight to Garu and Simeon. Mro Jus Bir and Mro Jus Bur are not here. In front of you is a small clearing within the forest, where a campfire sits unattended, in the midst of logs laid out like seating.
Harmony was surprised by the glow, only to see the dark forest and the small clearing with the campfire, smiling. "Oh yay! We must have done something good if we're getting to see them again." she had said to Abraxas, smiling. Then she would have quickly sat down on one of the logs, gesturing for everyone else to do the same.
Abraxas sits as well. "Yes," he says. "I wonder what they will have to say?" He lifts one of his book bags off his shoulder. "Garu and Simeon, this is the place where the deities we mentioned have spoken to us." As he slips the other bag off his shoulder, Abraxas wonders out loud, "Where are Mro Jus Bir and Mro Jus Bur?"
"Dieties," repeats Simeon, as a look of deep inquisitiveness passes across his face. The wood elf peers into the surrounding area, looking for anything that might suggest the presence of others.
Everything in this glade feels real to Simeon; the fire is warm, the night air is cool but comfortable, and the sounds of the occasional buzzing or chirping insect provide a meditative backdrop to the calm scene. The elf sees no sign of any presence aside from the four companions.
Abraxas and Harmony take a seat among the logs. The lack of Gabrielle or Ginan on the opposite side of the fire seems uncomfortable, like a perversion of nature itself. A long moment passes, and nothing happens. The fire pops, releasing air from the wood within, then continues to crackle as normal.
Taking his cue from Abraxas and Harmony, Simeon seats himself near the fire. With uncertainty in his voice, he asks, "Do you wait, expecting a second meeting then?"
A sudden burst of light precedes the scene changing on the opposite side of the fire. The section of forest past the fire that stood just a moment ago has been replaced by the sight of a wondrous temple. To a bird's eye view, it would look as if someone matched a piece from a completely different jigsaw puzzle.
Standing in this view is a beleaguered woman - Abraxas and Harmony recognize her as Gabrielle. Still as beautiful as any creature, her composed presence is gone. Strands of her hair fall free from her braids, and sweat pours from her head as she focuses upon you. "The second plot has been revealed! Kayel's treachery has--" she shouts over the sounds of steel and spellfire, cut out as the scene is replaced again by calm, moonlit forest.
Harmony was wondering where Gabrielle and Ginan are, hearing Garu and Simeon as she nodded. "We're not sure where this is. We just know that we always end up here when they want to tell us something." she says back to them. Then she was surprised to see the forest change to a temple before noticing Gabrielle, but she looked frazzled. She listened to her before it got cut off, shocked and confused. "Gabrielle!" she calls out, now a little worried. "Okay, looks like we have to deal with Kayel then. But who is Kayel, and what was their treachery? I hope Gabrielle and Ginan are gonna be alright." Harmony had said, wishing that they knew more.

Abraxas compares his memory, his personal history, of the paper model of Kayel's temple with the wondrous temple he has just seen through the portal. Are they the same building? 22
He also considers the portal they have just seen and everything he knows about the arcana of portals generally. Is there a way to get there from here? 24
He will relay the results of these thoughts to the others as quickly as he has them. He is in favor of rushing to help Gabrielle.

"This is a riddle," remarks Simeon. "First we find clasps of the Lyrikav militia. Now this," (as he points to the elaborate replica of the city).
"Let's see if more of this mystery will unravel as we continue."

Abraxas will share what he has remembered with the others. He'll put clasps in the locations Garu indicates, waiting to see what happens.
If nothing happens, he will follow Simeon's lead toward the next room, investigating for traps as he goes: 8.

"Illusion or reality?" asks Simeon softly and rhetorically.
He approaches the campfire, wanting to feel its warmth as a possible indication of how real this place is.
