Brox looks down at her feet. Then up at the stone statue standing in the middle of the cavern.
"This,.... this... oh no! Valrish?"She walks around the statue. Then she picks up the sword from the floor. It pulses with light a couple of times in her hands, then shines even brighter. Brox bends her knee in front of the statue. "Valrish, I will take your sword on this journey. She wants to bring light to the world and so want I. I will keep her safe so she is ready for your return. We will find a cure, Valrish, one day we will fight side by side again. You're a true warrior and this sword ultimately belongs to you. I will be the keeper of your sword until you return." Then Brox stands up and looks at her new companions. They all fought valiantly. She gives them a quick nod of appreciation then looks around the cavern for anything else of interest [investigation 3] before heading to the cavern entrance where she waits for the others.
Brox will balance Dawnbringer in her hands, and walk through her daily morning ritual of weapons training. Swinging the glowing sword over her head and feign attacks. She will continue while the others prepare their goodbye to Valrish and take a short rest.
Grimnir looks at the statue and places his hand on his good friend. "Valrish, you fought bravely. Bahamut would be proud. We will come back with a cure, I promise you will see the sunlight again." Grimnir then connects with the ground and releases some spores. In a few minutes, a circle of luminous mushrooms grow around the dragonborn, shedding a dim light and somewhat giving a sense of protection. "Goodbye, my friend."
Grimnir turns his attention to the medusa, cuts a few snake-hair as a proof and places them in the bag of holding as well as the rack of clothing. (OOC: what does the clothing look like ? Does is it look expansive)
Oorr will chant a little litany to Valrish. A song of winds which are born, die and are reborn again.
The dragonborn doesn't deserve this fate. At the end of the chant, Oorr will tear a feather of his and put it in the hand of his petrified where the radiant sword once was.
"I wonder if the paladin can do anything for Valrish. If not," I continue, sounding fairly certain of the answer, "I should be able to figure out a suitable spell eventually. I say we leave him at the Ruby for safekeeping. Heave ho, Derendil."
OOC: From the American Heritage Dictionary, 4e: "heave hointerj. Used as a command to sailors to pull hard on a rope or cable." My usage here is of course a generalization* akin to the slang noun heave-ho.
*specialized linguistic usage of generalization; ironic, eh?

"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both" -- allegedly Benjamin Franklin
After finishing her exercises Brox suddenly has a deeper connection with Dawnbringer. "Thank you for picking me up. We will bring light to all corners of the world." The sword lights up with a bright white light, illuminating the entire cave.
Derendil scoffs at Belwar."A prince would never do such manual work... besides he is far too large for me to lift."
Some quick observation will prove that this is true. Valrish is so thoroughly petrified as to be immobile, the weight of the figure being far too much for any of you to even budge. You do however notice that a ring on Valrish's finger appears to not be stone, as do the boots on his feet. The ring is removable, however, you are unable to remove the boots as he is standing in them.
(OOG The Boots of Speed and the Ring of Water Walking are magical, and thus do not petrify, but as he was wearing the boots, they are irretrievable. You may take the ring if you wish.)
Grimnir turns his attention to the medusa, cuts a few snake-hair as a proof and places them in the bag of holding as well as the rack of clothing. (OOC: what does the clothing look like ? Does is it look expansive)
The clothing looks very fine indeed, and appears to be spun from spider silk, and interwoven with magic. It is drow in origin, which is what the medusa appears to have been before she was cursed. They might be worth something if sold at one of the markets.
With the Medusa dead, you still have an unexplored cave in Area 21 on the map, as well as the cavern in Area 22, which you know to be a temple of Calladuran Smoothhands, that you've been asked to cleanse by Gurnik Tapfinger. To the east, the cavern wraps back around to the waterfall you explored earlier.
Grimnir takes the Ring of Water Walking from the hand of his petrified friend. "I'll keep that for you, Valrish. And I will give it back to you once we can bring you back."
After a short moment to rest and say goodbye to the Dragonborn, Grimnir calls his companions: "Well, let's move. Let's continue to the temple of Calladuran Smoothhands. That's why we are here, aren't we ?". The Dwarf packs up the clothes and lead the way. Stealth: 14
You leave Neheedra's lair and move towards the location of the temple. You climb a set of stairs up to a raised cavern.
The floor of this cavern is worn smooth, but the walls are rough. A great menhir carved from a stalagmite stands in the center of the chamber, pockmarked with dozens of empty sockets that might once have held gems.
Oorr, you notice the roughness of the walls outlines several large, vaguely humanoid shapes.
Brox, you recall that Gurnik Tapfinger gave you a ruby spell gem, and instructed you to insert it in to the stone menhir within the temple, but to be prepared to defend it against Ogremach Bane's minions.
Brox stretches out her hand to the side as if to slow down her companions. "I think this is it - Steadfast Stone. The place that the head priest of Calladuran Smoothhands described to me. He gave me a special ruby spell gem and some instructions. Let me think... '... place it in the Steadfast Stone's menhir. It will cast a hallow, which will purify the temple.' " Brox pinches the top of her nose, and rubs her eyes. What else did he say?"Oh yes, and that 'Ogremach's Bane will send it's minions to attack us and we'll have to defend the stone until the area is cleansed.' Do any of you know what we can expect here? What is Ogremach's Bane? And are you all ready for another fight?" With this a slight smile shows on Brox's lips. Dawnbringer shines brighter at her words.
Then Brox goes silent. She concentrates on the area in front of her and lets her mind probe the cavern for any celestials, fiends or undead.
[As an action, you can detect good and evil. Until the end of your next turn, you can sense anything affected by the hallow spell or know the location of any celestial, fiend, undead within 60 ft. that is not behind total cover.]
Grimnir is getting ready for some action and is looking around for more possible danger Perception : 20 + Guidance 1
You see the same thing Oorr does, outlines of rocky figures in the rock walls that surround this cavern. There appears to be a tunnel exiting to the West, opposite of the stairs you came up to enter into this cavern. You sense no other dangers. Your attention stays on the figures in the rock.

You only know the Gurnik said Ogremach's Bane was an elemental force, corrupting the temple and the elementals in the area. It is an ancient force, having been here before anyone can remember, and is one of the chief reasons they avoid this area known as Rockblight.
Brox, you detect no creatures of that nature near the area.
If there are any appropriately sized entrances to this place, I fill one of them with create bonfire.
Where you entered from the East it's just a ledge that has stairs leading down away. To the West is a tunnel that disappears around a corner. You could set the bonfire in either of these places if you wish.
