Can Thistle just step over the corner right there, without touching the landing? She hauls on Zashier’s arm to get the axe light nearer and looks for anything unusual (traps) on the first step after the landing.

Thistle, you dont notice anything amiss about the first few steps you see. You can try to hop if you like. My digital drawing didnt do it justice, but its not just steps right to the corner, its back a foot or so, and then around the corner, like most stairs, the landing is "technically" the top step of the next set of stairs, so its not as simple is it might seem.
If you choose to jump, Acrobatics Check, DC13.
If you choose to be thrown, Athletics Check from the thrower, DC10, and Acrobatics Check for the one being thrown: DC10 if the athletics check succeeds, DC 15 if they fail because your trajectory will be off (worse than if you had just jumped).
Gotta commit to the plan. If the thrower rolls a bad throw, cant just suddenly decide to stay put and not roll the acrobatics.
or maybe you just try to dodge around the pressure plates, Dex Check.
"Well the way I sees it, if you don't mind me pipping in, is that we'll have to come back on this way anyhow. And if'n that time be of the emergency variety, well, disabling this here trap could only be for the better." Zazhier chimes in at a stage whisper while looking roughly back at Thistle. After which he'd try to make room for her to begin the process. Though at the first sign of kobolds even remotely stepping in sight, he'd try to be there to yank her back out of danger.

If Lem can help disarm the trap with his mage hand by holding the steps in place while Thistle works, or using the mage hand to plug holes, he will. He explains this in broken and technical terms but in a manner that belies a lot of experience working with trap-disarmers al la Hurt Locker.
Thistle is okay with this plan. She suggests everyone back up the stairs past the danger zone, but keeps Zashier’s axe propped up against the wall near her. Then, with Lem’s mage hand hovering nearby, she pulls out her tools and gets to work.
”I didn’t do a lot of this by myself, and of course, I’ve been out of practice for a while...” she talks to herself quietly as she tries to wedge the pressure plates into inactivity. “These kobolds are pretty clever... but I think, maybe I’ve got...”
Disarm Trap with Thieves’ Tools is Dex (+3) plus proficiency if proficient with the tools (+2): 6

The party backs up the stairs, safely out of the danger zone of the holes in the wall. With Lem's mage hand helping to wedge the first pressure plate, Thistle leans down over the first step to get a good look under the plate. It has hard to see, but with the thieves tools, she is able to feel resistence of the trigger underneath the plate. Thistle cautiously unhooks the trigger fromt he bottom of the plate, and Lem's mage hand gently lowers the plate down. For good measure, Thistle takes a deep breath, and steps down onto the plate she just disarmed, and...nothing happens. She and Lem proceed to disarm enough of the plates so the party can safely move down the stairs. It is long, painstaking work, but with the knowledge that the party is safely out of harms way, Thistle calmly and effeciently disarms the plates.
Thistle wipes the sweat off her brow, and gives Lem an appreciative slap on the shoulder. "Thank you, Lem. I could not have done that without your help."

You reach another cutback, and Yokini checks it for traps, but it seems ok. As you descend further, the stairs open up into a room (map on media channel). There are stones embedded in the wall, casting a very faint glow, not bright, what you might consider in todays world more like emergency strip lighting. Just enough to see the room spread out in front of you. Those with dark vision have a little easier time. In front of you is an open hole in the ground, like a pool, with a still, dark liquid filling it. An opening behind the pool, you arent quite sure where it goes, and an opening to the right blocked by a portculis.
You all have just reached the foot of the stairs at the bottom right of the map.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Does the liquid seem darker than water would appear in a dark room? Like oily? Or just possibly a dark pool of water. (Perception 13 if relevant)
Lem listens for any noise coming from the room. And he takes a look at the structure -- does this room seem like the hidden cellar of the manor he expected to see from how he saw the stairs constructed? Or is this either a more natural cavern or something the kobolds or someone else hollowed out beyond what was there from manor cellar? He whispers to his companions.
"So we think they're expecting us, right? Sneaking around might not be as useful as normal. The pool sticks out a bit, doesn't it. I can create an illusion of someone that would appear about 30 feet into the room, and then have my mage hand create a sound. Might fool them if they're not paying too close attention, and let them spring whatever ambush might be waiting for us. Maybe the image of an earth elemental and then I can drop some rocks at its feet. Wouldn't be too convincing but who knows. They're probably skittish. We might learn something."
Zashier is mildly distracted for a while; and so, he's a step behind the others in responding to anything. It's clear at least that he's sniffing at the air, and even close to the ground with his trunks for any strong smells in the area; especially that of recent kobold passage.
He even wanders within ten feet of the pool without thinking about it if a particularly strong or noticeable scent reaches his trunk. If he's not caught off guard by something, or restrained in some way as soon as started close, the head of his axe further lighting up the room to various degrees during the trek, he half turns back to the others relaying anything picked up.

Lem, its a dark room, and the liquid is dark. You cant tell if its darker than water or not since water typically is just a reflection of its surroudings.
This appears to be part of the cellar, though it has been expanded and added on to. The pool of liquid in the center looks like a more recent addition.
What you do notice with your roll is that there are no kobold tracks here at the foot of the stairs. The stone work looks cleaner than the main floor of the manor, or even some of the landings/stairs you came down.
As you stand at the foot of the stairs, straining your ears, you only hear the sound of your party memebers breathing and whispering.
Thistle, a ranged attack roll would work for your copper piece, since you are at the foot of the stairs. Not sure if you are proficient in throwing money.....DC10 to land in the pool.
Lem, true to form, would have Moon begin to fly deeper into the room and take a closer look at the walls and recessed alcoves and try to spot anything interesting or moving. With Zashier moving into the chamber he gives up on the illusion gambit. The mage hand has faded, and once Moon comes back and he sees what Moon sees, he'll cast mage hand again.
"So they made this their home base, probably a while ago, and stole the dragon scale from Telly. Some of them can fly. They make good traps. Anything else we know? That pool is weird, and looks new. Did they make an aquatic friend?"
“I’m not sure it’s water,” Thistle says. “Can you use you magic hand to drop one of my coins into it?” she indicates the two copper pieces lying on the floor.

Zashier had paused at least like a good boy. But seeing Thistle fail twice to do... whatever it was she was doing, he went back to sniffing around. "Don't worry nose. Ya tried your best, all things considered, and I wouldn't give you up for another nose in the world." He whispered while rubbing his trunk, and making his way over to the porticullis for some investimigating, and then possibly some bromanship with Raddunuth in pulling it up.
