The creature sees Flame's approach and sidesteps the attack from his staff, but it is not expecting his roundhouse as it connects with the creature and sends it flying into a fallen table, it does not stir. Elemoth also charges one of them as his mace crashes down upon the creature, turning it back into a pile of small sticks, the magic that was holding it together dispelled. Torment follows suit as she advances and sends out a burst of thunder that slams into two of the twig creatures, but they hold fast. Meanwhile, Marion gesticulates as a wave of frost comes over one of the creatures, and yet it still fights off the freezing cold spell. Finally, Shadow attacks one of them as it ducks under his first strike, only to slam itself into his dagger as whatever mockery of life it had immediately leaves (heh) the clump of twigs.
The only remaining twig creature tries to lash out at the tiefling but she manages to dodge the attack as the creature scratches a nearby table instead.

As Flame finishes out his roundhouse kick, he lets his momentum continue carrying him and swings his staff outward to strike the final Twig Creature, following through into a roll to bring the heel of his open hand up into the creature.
As the final creature collapses, Marion goes over to one of the bleeding commoners and tries to stabilize them. "There are so many injured. We won't save them all!"
Indeed the last twig creature falls. As you look around you, you see that the tavern is not in the best of shape. People lie unconscious and or dying (5 dying commoners) while the bartender himself is under the boulder that fell on the building. Marion rushes over to try and stop the bleeding, but it's just too much as the bandage completely soaks through. (We're not really in initiative, so just post with what you want to do)
Elemoth frowns as he struggles to get his backpack off, and pulls out his healing kit. Never until this moment in his life had he regretting his choice of cantrips during training more. He could have chosen to learn the one that could help heal the gravely wounded just enough so that they wouldn't die right away, but he never though he would need it. Elemoth shakes his head briefly to clear it, then quickly cleans his hands with a clear liquid from a glass vial, then takes out some bandages and salve and attends to the closest dying tavern resident that no one else is helping.
(Item: Healer's Kit, 1 used, 9 remaining - the mouseover should show that it allows stabilize checks to automatically succeed)
(OOC: Elemoth will probably try to hand it off to someone else to use next round, as his Medicine skill is fairly high)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Having no knowledge of medicine, Shadow isn't sure what to do. All he knows he can't sit on his tail and do nothing. He hurriedly runs to a nearby person that seems to be bleeding out, and attempts to stabilize them.
Flame notices that even though there's a boulder on this barkeep, it's not squishing him, it's as if the boulder was simply a large half-orc who was sitting on his back. He also seems to simply be unconscious, not dying.
Meanwhile, people all around the tavern begin to be stabilized and the chaos begins to die down. It is at this point that you actually get to take in the whole place. It is a rough stone building with a slate roof. Well-worn boards covered the floor, but the main impression seems to be of comfort (or at least it would be if there wasn't a boulder in the tavern). Blue tapestries, once rich with color now have picked up dust from the chaos and carnage. They decorate the wood-paneled walls of the common room, which consists of a bar and tables of stout wood.
The room is dominated by what looks like a massive well, measuring 40 feet in diameter and descending farther than the eye can see. You don't know why, but Marion as she glances as it feels a sense of unease coming from this place as if she came home one day to find her home completely renovated.
Several people go up to all of you while you're working, giving their gestures of thanks. Some then leave without a word while others simply return to their seats, fine with staying in what appears to be this relatively safe haven.
Shadow stands up and sighs as he wipes blood off of his hand. Boy has this been the craziest day. Shadow looks around to see Flame inspecting the large boulder that is in the tavern. He then makes his way over there.
Hey Flame, Can you belie... Shadow's words are cut short and replaced with a gasp. What in the world Flame, is this man alive? We need to try and free him from the boulder! Come on help me push this cursed rock!

"Shadow, no! If we roll it, it might crush him! We need to get a group and try to lift it before we resort to rolling. Everyone, come lift this boulder!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Knowing that she won't be of much use lifting a boulder, Torment scans the room for the most burly looking patrons. With bow string on throat she once again projects her voice (Thaumaturgy). "Hello everyone, yes, please can I draw your attention to the large boulder atop the barkeep over there. Yes, that big one. If you have any desire for another round of drinks, I suggest you help my friends over there lift it off the man. Hurry now. I'm getting thirsty!"

"Ah yes, very good idea my friend." Elemoth says, turning his head to look at Flame as he finishes tending to a wounded patron who's sitting against a wall. He rises from his knees to his feet and walks over toe the boulder, rolling up his sleeves slightly before joining in the attempt to move it safely.

(OOC: 1 is Lathander's holy number. Look at the sky, how many suns do you see? 1. All solar deities love "blessing" their followers by letting them see that most sacred of holy numerals as often as they can. Whether you worship Lathander, Amaunator, Pelor, Apollo, or some other sun god, they will show you favor by reminding you of that great universal truth that there is only 1 sun in the sky, and therfore one god for you to show your reverence to, and they do this by ensuring that fate conspires to cause this most wonderous of numbers to show itself frequently in every die you roll. Truly, Elemoth is greatly blessed.)
As Torment plays her song, several of the drunkards come to the realization that it's hard to get more drink when the person serving said drinks is trapped under a boulder (it still takes them a couple seconds though). They reluctantly get up and help out the other heroes with lifting the boulder. As Flame, Shadow, and the other patrons lift up the boulder (it takes all of their strength to lift it a single inch) Elemoth quickly pulls the man out from under it as he seems to be strangely entirely unharmed. There's no sign of injury in the slightest of having a boulder on his stomach, and as you are all standing over him he suddenly has a quick intake of breath and opens his eyes and gets up. "Well what are all of ya' doin' just standin' over my body? Mort, Dan, Jane, Sue, ya' can return to your drink, and 'ere, have a round on me as thanks. Tho' don't expect any more than that, ya' lazy drunkards." The people grumble what is most likely some form of thanks as the barkeep stands up and turns to the rest of you. "Now I haven't seen any of yer kind 'round these parts. Sorry 'bout how the place is, never really 'pected ta' have a city siege today, but 'ey what're ya' going ta' do." He then looks around and notices that you are all very badly injured along with the twig creatures that are lying dead in his tavern. He then puts two and two together and says: "Oh! It seems I'm in a bit of yer debt. Ye' helped me wit' some of my problems, n' I help you wit' some of yours." He motions all of you (including Marion, who he cocks his head a bit as she gets closer but shakes it as if dismissing a thought) over towards the bar and says in a quiet voice: "Now don' be tellin' anyone 'bout my bein' nice n' all that. I don' wan' word gettin' out tha' I'm some charitable barkeep, but you saved my tavern 'n for that I'm in yer debt. It doesn't look like all of ya' have the best place to stay right 'bout now, so I offer some of my rooms up at the top. You'll get free room n' board. After all, ya' did save me tavern, oh and there's also this. Here let me jus- ah great, I pro'ly need ta' move this don' I." The barkeep then squats as he grabs the bottom of the boulder and lifts, as he heaves it up and it simply falls off of The Yawning Portal and into the abandoned alleyway behind the tavern. He dusts off his hands and opens a compartment: "Now where did I put them... Ah! There they are." He holds up five gleaming pink bottles. "'Ere, take 'em. But I'm warning ya' don't use 'em all too quick, valuable things these are. Oh!" He cries smacking his head in a facepalm. "Almos' forgot, I'm Durnan, the proprietor of The Yawning Portal, patrons'll pro'ly start comin' back in 'bout an hour or so. Feel free ta' meet 'em or head up, ya'll look like you could do with a nice nap." And with that he turns away from you and begins washing the mugs that have quite the coating of dust on them under the boulder-sized hole in his roof.

"Thanks," Marion says and takes the kit from Elemoth. She uses it on one of the remaining, dying people.
As the others are attending to the injured, Flame, concerned for the bartender with the boulder on top of him, inspects more closely.
