"Did you find anything Hox? We need to keep moving and find the others. What is wrong little one?" Gruun is clearly concerned about his companion and will try to help him overcome whatever is amiss. Failing that he will open the door and carry Hox through.
Hox is too fear struck to talk as a huge dragonborn with brass like scales comes from the doorway. They wield a massive warhammer and they lock eyes with Hox. Hox instincts tell him to run but as Gruun proceeds forward, he finds himself frozen. His beady eyes switching frantically between the dragonborn and Gruun, his mind racing with questions, actions, and fear. As Gruun asks if he's okay, the brass dragonborn readies his hammer.
"Come if you dare, servant of Tiamat, and prepare to die."
At that threat, Hox huddles down, trying to make himself smaller than he already is. He shuts his eyes as Gruun picks him up. He keeps muttering, "Hox not here. Hox not here. Hunter not find Hox." Over and over.
Returning to the T-shaped intersection, you soon feel a pulse of energy washing over you, though it does not seem to have any effect. This side of the junction twists in upon itself, and after walking in the circular pattern, you find that it also dead ends.

When darkness overtakes the room, the commanding hobgoblin begins shouting orders, the sound of his voice keeping his troops standing in line.
Shouting orders in Goblin, you hear, "What are you waiting for, you useless slime? Split! You, to me, the rest to a pincer! Hold your lines!"
On cue, one of the hobgoblin soldiers stands protectively in front of his commander, while three fan out to each side of you, drawing their longswords and standing at the ready with their shields raised. Their eyes dart back and forth, waiting for the danger to spring from the darkness that moves through the room.

The tiles are plain stone, with no writing or design on any that you see. Parts of the standing tiles resemble the design of a maze, but the majority of them are lying on their side, ruining its original picture.
Knowing she is at disadvantage from her armor, Killian does not attempt to be stealthy. Going left, she moves swiftly to engage the first hobgoblin.
Move: to the left, to the first hobgoblin. Bonus Action: She will expend one 1st level spell slot to regain 1 sorcery point for a total of 2 left Action: Attack the hobgoblin twice with longsword, with Advantage for being able to see in the dark when they cannot. Strike 1: 26 Damage: 16 Strike 2: 23 Damage: 16

ARADURK:
The long walk to where you began in this maze is easy enough to find, though confusing - you could swear leaving markings along certain intersections, but they are nowhere to be found; yet, the intersections look familiar, and you are positive this is where you began.
Heading down the opposite passage, you walk for a few hundred feet. The corridor curves slightly a few times before turning in on itself and heading in the opposite direction. Shortly after turning, you come across a series of small stone tiles splayed out across the passage. Some of the tiles are standing, but most have been toppled over and are now cluttered.

Despite their martial prowess, lowly hobgoblins are no match for your sword in daylight, let alone darkness. You cut a pair on the left down, easily stepping to the side of the third that swings in feebly while the commanding hobgoblin shouts orders, "Find its center! Close in!"
Killian will swing to the right side, where three hobgoblins remain, hoping to prevent them from enclosing her, and swing again. They can't see her, but she is moving with abandon and grace, a smile wide on her face. Facing a foe with her sword is where she is most comfortable, but this, this is home, in the dark.
