"I appreciate the blessing," Maas said to Uthal, upon the Goliath bestowing him darkvision. Rushing to speak before the entire party had gone underwater, "-but I think I should stay. Someone needs to watch Juppo. Plus we can find you if anything changes with the fog up top." Maas stands at the top of the stairs, wringing the leather hilt of the shortsword in his hand. He watches the party go, until they are out of sight.
For those with the ability to see in the darkness, they find the corridor to be very much how Current was able to describe through feel, though now with additional detail. A four-way intersection, coming from the western route.
To the north, the hole in the wall led to a water logged tunnel, with no floor. It is unknown, without following it, to where the tunnel went. The eastern corridor led to another staircase the ascended up and out of sight.
And finally the southern corridor emptied into the open room in which Current stood. Since she had been able to warn the rest of the party, none were caught unaware by the abrupt stop of the water and immediate transition to open air. However, by the time the rest of the party arrived, the potential light source that Current saw, was no longer visible, and she was surrounded in darkness.
For those members of the party who could see in the dark, the fog in the room had gotten so thick, their vision was limited only to approximately 10 feet, in any direction. However, the murmuring of an individual, that Current heard, was still present, somewhere south of the group.
Additionally, from somewhere else, the sound of a glass or a bottle being knocked over echoed around the room.
Current asks the party quietly as they arrive, "I am effectively blind without any light, but I don't want to light up a torch if it will give away our presence. Can any of you guide me?"

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
Ura pulls out her last candle and hands it to Current. "You could try lighting this if you want. It's not nearly as bright as a torch. It'll only last an hour, though. One way or the other, let's move. I don't like this fog."
Ura does her best to fade from view and slink forward to scout, trying to find the source of the voices. Stealth: 15 Perception: 25
With the fog obscuring Ura's sense of sight, her other senses, particularly her sense of hearing, were able to hone in on the surroundings. The sound of the clattering glass object bouncing around may ha e very well acted like echo location, providing a general sense of the area that the party was now in.
It was a square-ish room. It was likely about 20 feet high and around 50 feet or so going north to south and east to west. Ura was able to separate the sounds of three living creatures breathing in the room that weren't members of the party. The sound of the clattering object originated from somewhere towards the west side of the room, but only about 15 or 20 feet from the party, and here one of the three resided. The murmuring though, which was still ongoing was further, 25 to 30 feet away, in the southwest corner of the room, and obviously the location of a second living being. The third was the closest to Ura, only about 10 or so feet away, just out of reach of her vision, in the fog to the east of her.
One thing that Ura was able to see however, was on the floor, near the center of the room. When Ura took steps forward into the room, she identified something that would have otherwise been missed by others, until they stepped into it. In the center was a very shallow, circular pool of redish black water, depressed into the floor. This particular one was cracked and worn away from erosion, but Ura had seen an intact one before, actually twice. One in the Castle of Aaaaargh, and one beneath the Berossus Estate in Cathaan.
When Ura hands the candle to Current, she waves her hand to dismiss it, realizing quickly that even with the candle she won't be able to see much through the fog and that any light could give them away, Current just replies, "I'll just follow Uthal if that's okay with him." If he allows, she will place a hand on his shoulder and just let him lead her with the rest of the party.

Ura stops, then backs away slowly from the pool of water. Making her way back to the others, she tells them of her finds in low undertones.
"There are 3 things in here with us. Something's about 15 or 20 feet away on the west side. The murmuring is coming from further away, about 30 feet to the southwest. And there was one practically right next to me to the east. But most importantly, you have to watch out for the center of the room. It's a little worn, but there's a pool of black water in the center of the room. You don't want to be stepping in it. It's just like the ones that were in the Berossus estate, and the Castle of Aaaaaargh."
Following Ura's explanation of what she gathered about the room, a voice spoke up from the western side of the room. It was faint and dry, like the owner might be elderly and /or weak, as well as potentially dehydrated. "Wha...is someone there?...Hello...Please, come closer...I can't see you."
Anearis’ ears perks up and he turns his attention to the voice. He pulls out a dart and stands ready to throw it. He carefully starts moving towards the voice, ready to dodge out of the way at any sign of agression.
Ura watches Anaeris go after the voice with a tick in her eye. Shrugging at the rest of the group, she pulls out her rapier slowly and slinks after Anaeris, ready to booming blade anything that attacks either herself or the monk.
As Anearis and Uthal proceed forward cautiously, the fog failed to hinder their perception, much like Ura's. The squishing sound at the last minute gave away the clouded presence of the floor of tentacles that they both were about to step onto.
Uthal stops and calls out. "Your traps will not work. Now, tell me, why have you fallen so far from the grace of the gods that you would seek to poison this world with this dark infestation?"

Upon hearing the squishing noise, Anearis jumps back a safe distance. He has come to recognize it and be alert to it. The elf goes into a battle stance, ready to defend himself if need be.

The voice calls out again, this time not so meakly, "It's the gods who poison this land. We will rise to and take their place."
The sound of the squishy tentacles whipping around intensifies. Echoing off the walls, it grows and begins to drown out lesser sounds, putting the members of the party back into the blind unknown of their surroundings.

Ura darts to the west, still hidden, until she comes across the owner of the voice. There, she happily tries to deposit her booming blade onto it, figuring a would-be god should have a thunderous entrance to their aspirations. She remains silent as the blade begins to vibrate with the magical energy, and lunges forward with a grim expression.
Attack (with adv from stealth): 20 Damage: 18 (10 piercing + 8 sneak), and an additional 3 thunder if it moves
She then disengages and retreats as far as she can (direction to be decided on viewing of the map).
Navigating the fog westward towards the supposed origin of the earlier voice, Ura finds herself having to circle southward to avoid the tentacles summoned on the floor. Upon reaching grid 30M, Ura climbs atop a crate and identifies an individual standing atop another (29L), the floor to the east of this figure also alive with the tentacles. The individual is wearing a robe and brandishing a familiar wavy dagger that Ura has come to know as a staple of the cultists.
The man is not the same that the party had encountered in the hall. He was older, with some wrinkles in his face, and graying hair, but seemed rather spry for his age. He wore a wicked grin as he watched Ura approach him, in a manner like he saw her before she ever saw him.
Attacking the cultist, Ura's blade fails to connect before she disengages, hitting a wall to the west and hopping over a fallen column. Upon taking cover at the column's corner (34L) (providing coverage to both the east and north), Ura now finds herself only feet away from a second figure (34M), muttering away with his eyes closed. Wearing a light colored robe with decorative trim and no hood, this new figure is laying on the floor, leaning against the column to which he is shackled.
Tide won't swim, but rather Current will snap her into her pocket dimension before resummoning her in the air pocket as the group travels to join her.
