Ismark opens to door to the manor, inside you see that The interior of the mansion is well furnished, yet the fixtures show signs of great wear. Noticeable oddities are the boarded-up windows and the presence of holy sym­bols in every room. An elderly, yet-well-built man is in a side drawing room on the floor-lying in a simple wooden coffin sur­rounded by wilting flowers and a faint odor of decay. Standing next to the door is a young woman, roughly in her early twenties from what you can tell.  

She is of dark complexion and hair with sharp features, a stark difference to her brother's blonde hair and pale skin.  Ismark embraces the woman and introduces you all, "Ireena, this is Grim, and these are... I'm sorry, I don't believe I've gotten all of your names."

"Me George." 

"Ylsara, and this is Nadi." Samudra says as she points to her crocodile.

"Why Samudra say Samudra Ylsara?" 

Grim let's out a pained sigh and goes over to George, "George, she don't say right name, because she scared of who hears true name."

"Why?"

Bry steps into the home, and takes a quick look around before his eyes stop on Ireena. He held out his hand to take hers, "Milady Ireena, I am Bry Ken-Dahli. We have come at the behest of your father to protect you, please do not be afraid any longer" 

Samudra lets forth to George a glare that could kill a hardened army ((he doesn't have to be scared, he just has to notice [not that he, having 4 intelligence, would know why]))

"Samudra no like George?" 

Samudra sighs and turns to George and whispers "Samudra scared. Samudra no like people know real name. Samudra think trap."

"Ismark have worse short-term memory than George?"  George incredulous. 

Bry notices the bite marks and confused looks and takes an inquisitive stance, his fingers rubbing his chin and his tail playfully dancing behind him, as if it were pacing for him. "What do you know of a man named Arrigal?"

Samudra sees the bite marks and gives a sorrowful look to the two. Then takes a sharp breath and a terrified look as a thought hits her. (Samudra is thinking that bite marks may have been the doing of a vampire) ((Perception check 8 ))

Grim's tone turns sharp, "ismark, tell us everything that has happened, and remember the tavern."

Ismark's expression hardens, "I know no such man. Who is he?" From what Samudra can tell, they seem to be fang marks, but there are many things that could leave such bite marks, but they would fit such a creature as a vampire.  In response to Grim's request, Ireena actually steps in front of her brother despite his protest as she do so, "I am Ireena Kolyana. Twice I have been bitten by the devil Strahd.  For weeks we were besieged by his forces, so much so that the stress caused my father to pass away suddenly.  This was three days ago." Ismark then interrupts his sister, "And this is why I need your help to take her to Vallaki.  It is the only place where Strahd cannot reach her." His sister continues, "I will not allow myself to leave before father is buried and laid to rest, you know this."

Bry continues to stroke his chin, peering behind the pair momentarily to look upon the father, and then back to them. "Right, well someone wanted us here. Arrigal was the Vistani man who delivered this letter..." Bry produces the letter that had brought them to this land, "...Asking us to come on his behalf to cure your Sister. Now, when we met at the Tavern I assumed, somewhat incorrectly it seems, that you knew of this. But given that you knew of us in advance, I am thinking maybe you might know more than you are letting on hmm?"

Grim walks over to the coffin and inspects the body (( 16 medicine. I accidentally put 1d29 instead of 1d20. I am doing this on my phone. I can reroll if you want. ))

Samudra also decides to inspect the body. ((Medicine 6))

"Let me see this letter," Ismark says as he takes the letter from your hand.  He studies it for a moment, he frowns and furrows his brow as he reaches the end. Ismark lowers his head, "You've been tricked... this letter, it is not in my father's handwriting.  I should know. This crest," Ismark points to the wax seal on the front of the envelop, which depicts a raven with its wings spread in front of a castle, "Is the Von Zarovich family crest. This 'Arrigal,' whoever he was, deceived you into coming into this realm under false pretenses.  I only waved you over to my table because you seemed like a unique group..."

((Nah, I believe you.))

Meanwhile, Grim, you examine the late burgomaster in his coffin.  You don't know much about modern medicine, but you have been trained to be an expert in the flow of ki.  This man has no injuries on him, but you can feel that his ki burned away abnormally quickly, likely due to extreme stress.  You have reason to believe that the man died in the way that they said.

Samudra, it works on a similar level for you, though not as intense. Your Druidic training has taught you some things about medicine, there are no poisons or other injuries on/in his person.
