The next few moments are a blur of action, Elwarith moves to stab Doru, but the vampire spawn deftly avoided the blade. Bry sees an opportunity in this and fires dual fire bolts towards the creatures . The first firebolt sinks into Doru, dealing full damage against the creature ((6 fire damage)). However, Bry can't quite hit the shifting shadow with his flames. George then leaps over Bry in a fury and swings his great axe down just to the left of the creature. Grim rushes toward Doru ands delivers two swift blows the creature's stomach, the first impact seems to do no damage as the creature catches the blow, but the second deals a swift blow into the creature's neck. Unfortunately, it seems to be resistant to Grim's fists ((2 bludgeoning damage)) It is now Adanmar's turn. ((I'll give him a moment to try attack, if it takes too long, I'll help out))
((Crits deal double damage - or just says that great wyrm red Dragon you were fighting with your level one character just keeled over and died due to you trying to bludgeon a claw that's twice as big as you with a quarterstaff. Say you rolled a nat 20 - you'd have to roll again. If you miss with that roll, the nat 20 just says you definitely hit, but if you hit with the second roll, you deal double damage. If you roll ANOTHER nat 20, that means the monster you were fighting is now dead, no matter how good of armor, how many hit points it had, or how little damage your weapon max deals, it's dead))

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
((Correct! Anyway, I'll help Adanmar here and roll for him. From what I was seeing, he was right. For some reason I was adding his proficiency to his damage xD))
Adanmar draws two arrows from his quiver, nocks them, and fires both toward the undead. One arrow flies toward Doru ((10)) and just barely sinks into the vampire's flesh, dealing 8, reduced to 5 piercing damage. The second arrow flies toward Doru's shadow, ((16)), but unfortunately misses and actually snaps a floorboard above the shadow. Speaking of shadow, the shadow will races up the wall and through the newly made hole in the floor, ascending to floor where the Priest, Ireena, and Ismark are located. That will end its turn, Davmorn is up.
((Thanks DM, on another hand, what about my Arcana check did before?))
((OOPS! Forgot to mention that. You are well aware of these creatures, they are a Shadow and a Vampire Spawn. You find it a tad odd, because Shadow's are typically solitary creatures unless they are found with other shadows. It does not often have a symbiotic relationship with other undead... It can create other shadow's by consuming life essence. In a village like this one, a shadow could be devastating))
Davmorn turns to follow the shadow up the stairs. However, Doru turns and attempts to bite him as he runs, 11, but is once again pushed away by the sturdy dwarf. As Davmorn runs up the stairs, and lets loose a bolt of divine energy. The strike curves and flashes toward the shadow, which is just about to strike the priest. The energy pierces a hole in the shadow, which grows until it consumes the whole shadow in white light, leaving no trace of the creature. ((It took 20 damagewith 1 health... it's dead)). Doru, then will attempt to strike Bry again. He attempts to pierce the sanctuary ((2)), but does not pierce it. Instead, he lunges for Elwarith who tried to stab him with holy water. He lashes with his claws ((11)) and his fangs ((22)). While he misses with his claws, his fangs find purchase in the neck of the half-elf. Elwarith can feel the blood being pulled from his body ((9 piercing damage and 8 necrotic damage.)) Elwarith feels weaker as his max health decreases by the necrotic energies.
The vampire spawn recoils at the blade. While it does not seem to be more effective, the creature does not seem to regenerate this wound. ((7 piercing damage)) It is possible that the divine water may have effected it in some way. The creature looks to be very damaged from all of the punishment it's taken.
George Rage. George try hit vampire with axe. 8
