Ooc I presume : if mr. Russlle did that it's bc it was needed . In character: I have a idea. We can check the orphanages for those of age who are about to have to move out and go at it on their own . I have no idea how their skills are but it would be a start. I can try the temple of Tyr tomorrow if someone can fill in for me with the cleaning guild . Another matter of business , earlier a sun elf came in and gave me this * drops a bag of coins on the table, still tied * His name is J.B. Nevercott, and he represents a discreet society of Corellon's Children. He came by and let me know he believes they caught the drow . * pulls a bullet and sets it on the table * He gave the gold as a token of gratitude for the attempts at trying to stop the assassinations . I tried to get him to stay with a meal on me but he told me he is meeting a lady at the purple silk . What a outstanding gentleman he is , I liked him a lot .
Downtime fillers (relying on his/her relevant skill/weapon/tool proficiencies)
They can't do the listed Franchise Tasks as Mr Russell is already doing HQ Modification, and your current rank only allows 1 Franchise Task for hirelings
Running a Business: Skills don't matter, he just works the tavern every day and adds 1 to the Running a Business Roll at the end of the tenday for every day he works
Research: He just goes out and researches whatever you want him to research every day.
Work: He just goes out and works a regular job and brings his earnings back
Religious Service: Performs religious services in exchange for possible favors
Crime: He goes out and does crime and brings back his earnings
Pit Fighting: and brings back his earnings. Almost sounds like a sponsorship deal, very Acg Inc
Gambling: and brings back his earnings. notice a pattern yet?
Carousing: Goes out and makes contacts for the Franchise, odds are good that is an allied contact.
Crafting an Item: Make stuff for you. Personally a hard sale on this one since you are surrounded by craftsmen of almost every type.
Brewing Potions of Healing: same as crafting an item
Crafting Magic Items: Make magic items for you. takes some time obviously
Buying a Magic Item: he goes out looking for magic items to buy
Selling a Magic Item: the reverse of that.
Scribing Scrolls: same as crafting, scrolls are sold down the street too.
Gaining Renown: Not sure on this one, cause the renown would go to the NPC for whatever Faction he does this for.
Relaxation or Recuperation: You'd be paying him to kick back and chill
In character: I never opened or counted what is in this pouch, bc he left b4 I could let him know payment wasn't necessary. Open it and count it if you would like.
My apologies Arthur, the fight we were involved in brought back some........distasteful....memories from the not so distant past with a previous group I was a part of. My name is Cloud in the Mountain. As you can already tell, I am a Tabaxi Archer and one of the newer members of the group. It is a pleasure to meet you and I hope you have made yourself comfortable here. Watch out for our friendly being, Lif. He's rather partial to the bar, but harmless.
*to no one in particular in the room* Speaking of the bar, I hear we are looking to hire more help? For the franchise too?
Thank you for the warm welcome Cloud . Yes, that is part of this meeting , getting some help. I'm thinking of trying orphanages . Ooc: idk what age a orphan has to move on in D&D , I'm guessing 15 give or take . Back in character : I do not see the harm in trying for a young adult or near adult regaurdless skill in working for us. I can teach a host or hostess proper etiquette. That is of no issue there. That is one skill I know I can teach other than martial prowess . Since I am new is there anything I could assist with as far as helping with renovations go or anything else ya'll can think of ?
The next thing I myself would would like to discuss would be clothing . Take Snarf for example. I know he works for food & lodging, but we will have to keep him clothed too. Any other employees in that boat ? Maybe I bring this up too soon but work uniforms could be in order. & let's say our cook gets sick, do we have anyone on standby that could fill in ?
I like the orphanage idea for unskilled workers. They can learn the trades and follow a specialist path later. As for the skilled slot, I am going to recommend the carouser. He can get us work that we desperately need AND advertise the tavern at the same time.
I believe there may be a clothing allowance, however, we have shown little to no profit in the last few weeks. Both accounts are at 0 coin. I will not be able to pay everyone until we have much more come in. 3 of us can forfeit our pay to put a more financial stability under the building as a whole though.
I too like the orphanage idea....very outside of the box. What all needs to be done around here that we can do ourselves in order to ease the financial costs? I do have an errand that I need to run towards the evening but can pull some work until then.

The Tavern has only been open for business for 6 days, it makes it's profit/loss roll at the end of every tenday.
The Franchise makes it's profit/loss roll at the end of every month.
Both are due to make those rolls on the same day(that's why the tavern opened early, to streamline those rolls)
Today is the 26th, they roll on the 30th
Any other monies and payments so far have come in from the faction quests completed or other side jobs(some still have yet to return for payment)
OOC: don't forget about the pouch that Arthur produced
In character : maybe for a bit of entertainment when we aren't busy at night I can play music from this horn and tips go towards the establishment if any tips are made
* Arthur undoes the strings on the pouch on pours it's contents onto the table * let's see what we have first Herald * starts counting / dividing if there is silver or copper in the mix . Let us not forget that eventually we will be paying taxes .
Blessings of Tyr upon us , this is equivalent to 200 gold I believe . Now, as stated I can check the orphanage tomorrow if ya'll would like , but someone would have to fill in for me with the cleaning guild . I have connections with the temple of Tyr obviously , and it would help them out and help us out . Most likely unskilled hands , but who knows depending on what those kids have learned and how long they have been a orphan
Alrighty, we got one nomination for a "face man" as our Franchise Skilled Hireling. Spending his days on the Carousing Downtime gaining contacts for the Franchise.
Resources. Carousing covers a workweek of fine food, strong drink, and socializing. A character can attempt to carouse among lower-, middle-, or upper-class folk. A character can carouse with the lower class for 10 gp to cover expenses, or 50 gp for the middle class. Carousing with the upper class requires 250 gp for the workweek and access to the local nobility.
A character with the noble background can mingle with the upper class, but other characters can do so only if you judge that the character has made sufficient contacts. Alternatively, a character might use a disguise kit and the Deception skill to pass as a noble visiting from a distant city.
Resolution. After a workweek of carousing, a character stands to make contacts within the selected social class. The character makes a Charisma (Persuasion) check using the Carousing table.
Anybody opposed to this? A vote can be taken if there is, we now have a proper Decisionist in house to facilitate one. Still wondering how a wolf took off with the old ballot box...
Thank you cloud. I'll depart for the orphanage in the morning . I'll take 1 platinum if nobody objects that way we can shop for clothing for any possible new hired hands. I've no idea who all works here that needs clothes but we will need measurements. Whilst doing all that I will keep my eyes peeled for any skilled hands too. Would there be anything else we need that any of you can think of ?

He never gave the name, Corellon's children are the race of elves.
OOC: edited it, hope I got it right

The question is what category to put that pouch in? Tavern, probably not... acquisition inc, doubt it(faction), party loot/misc... this one I think.
* Arthur undoes the strings on the pouch on pours it's contents onto the table * let's see what we have first Herald * starts counting / dividing if there is silver or copper in the mix . Let us not forget that eventually we will be paying taxes .
Contents of the pouch: 20pp

I can fill in for you tomorrow with the cleaning guild.
You can check in the afternoon after guarding the Dungsweepers, it's only an 8 hour shift.
