After Arthur wins his wrestling match he does the warriors clasp ( for those who don't know it is similar to a handshake ) to his opponent , and thanks him for a great wrestling match
Running a business roll for the Tavern on 30 Mirtul
20gp for Expenses 10gp in Guild Fees
30gp in total for expenses
Roll modifiers: +6 for the 5 PCs that worked a day on their Downtime +10 because the Campaign Book says to (probably to offset the Guild Fees) +70 for barrel of wine from the Halfling winery helped by the Emerald Enclave mission
After a long day of tossing people and being tossed Arthur returns to the manor with the most jovial of moods . He is ready to partake in his first trolltide holiday , eager to hand out the various delecasisies to the children
(Raven would like to go through with carousing. To find info about the city, it's inhabitants, the kind of people that live or visit here, and possible rival franchises.)
Ooc - Arthur wants to visit Corellon's Crown? The herbalist who has a greenhouse on the top floor across the alley from the Manor? I can start that when I get to my notes at home.
Raven - Deduct 2gp for yesterday's gambling activities.
The downtime activities as they are designed in the book are usually 5 day blocks of time.
We originally allowed them to be broken up to not require them to be consecutive days. This was to allow adventure stuff that might pop up in between.
We also had it in place that a character had to finish one downtime before starting a different one. This was mostly a paperwork issue, as the notes were in random post it's and notebooks.
But all the notes and tracking have been moved onto the front page here, so tracking is no longer a big issue. But the money investment in some of the downtimes will have to be adjusted and paid per day. That's why most of them are rounded to the gold amounts that they have, I imagine.
So the new change for Downtimes are as follows:
Can be done one day at a time if the player wishes. All investments required for said Downtime is broken up to a perday cost and paid during that day.
Results for the Downtime are rolled on the completion or stated abandonment of the Downtime. Abandonment consists of player requesting for it or attempting to start a new occurance of the same Downtime. Abandonment of a Downtime is bad! Almost guarantees the worst results! This is to keep the new flexibility from being "gamed" in an unfair way (keeps them from basically rerolling again and again till they get the results they want)
Arthur, as you enter Corellon's Crown you see varying array of many small plants and flowers among the shelves. Behind all this is a small counter, from where a wood elf with long braided hair greets you "Hail, and well met my new friend. Welcome to Corellon's Crown, home of many herbal remedies. I am Fala, pleased to meet you."
Ooc: case of dumbass , I was thinking we had a green house here. No worries, I'll roll with it , time burner if nothing else until we start up with what we on earth call trick or treaters lol.
Bic: hail and well met Fala, I am Arthur Darkeyes the 3rd . Pleased to meet you as well. I am rather new to Waterdeep and figured since i had time off I'd take a look around at things and see what you might have to offer
Arthur looks around for 30 minutes ( 15 minutes if it is a smaller place ) then goes back to the manor to assist in getting things ready for troll skull taverns trolltide celebrations

Fala shows you around the "showroom". In addition to nonmagical herbal remedies("I got an oil for that"), Fala also sells the following potions: Animal Friendship(125gp), Climbing(50gp), Greater Healing(250gp), Healing(50gp), Water Breathing(250gp).
Arthur, when you get back Savra Belabranta(your contact with the Order of the Gauntlet) is waiting for you on the front dining deck. She says:
"A notorious thief called the Black Viper, long thought dead, has apparently returned to Waterdeep. She has already robbed at least a dozen noble estates. No one knows her identity because she wears a mask, but it was reported in The Waterdeep Wazoo that she's a noble. Find out what else the broadsheet's publisher knows about her and report back to me."
(This is also a good time to see if Raven is interested in joining you in the Order)

Arthur will try athletics

Arthur is ecstatic
Your fights today consisted mostly of various wrestling matches. Some matches were close, but in the end you won them all.
That's 1 success so far! I'll update your downtime entry on the first page.
After Arthur wins his wrestling match he does the warriors clasp ( for those who don't know it is similar to a handshake ) to his opponent , and thanks him for a great wrestling match
Raven followed Arthur in order to bet on some fights. With a stake of 10 gold pieces, she begins betting on various fights throughout the day.
Raven can choose to make one of the following 3 checks:
Wisdom (Insight)
Charisma (Deception)
Charisma (Intimidation)
Whichever one you choose will not be available for further checks during this downtime.
The DC you need to beat is: 20
Try this again: 15 Not this roll, my dice roller wouldn't show up. Like last time it shows up when I try to fix it!
We'll come back to Raven's downtime rolls later. In the afternoon when you all return, Mr Russell lays out the financials for both businesses.
Ooc: each will have a separate post so I can link them individually for the front page.

Roughly speaking, Raven kept betting on the wrong horse more often than not today. Who knew betting on Arthur would have been the better bet!
1 Failure using Wisdom (Insight)

Trolltide doesn't start off till later in the day until dusk. Plenty of time for morning Downtime again.
Ok cool. I guess since Arthur hasn't done so, he is going to look at the greenhouse

Herald will help at the tavern again in the morning, work the books for an hour then go about his second day of his entrepreneurial endeavors.
