"We all have rations if you're so desperate," says Sael, stepping forward beside Andrømeda and nearer Kwisatz. "We could use any information that may lead us to the Dragon. You might think on the fact that if we rid this land of it, your food sources will also return."

The Manticore looks pensive for a moment. "Although that does make sense for tomorrow, that doesn't help me today." The Manticore lowers its head and takes two steps towards the group. "Not to mention," the creature continues, "human rations are hardly sufficient for a Manticore."
Growling and narrowing her eyes, Andrømeda takes a step towards the creature in turn, giving her axe a twist in her hands, and widening her stance. "Barely worth eating for us too, and te wyrm is a trouble for all. Du not wantin to help, er maat, more wyrm for me when we find den, but Am'm thinkin te chance du end opp in my belly is more than findin huntin in the wood to eat, so's kom try and ha a bite, du spiky, oversizt cat!" Her face twisting in a snarling grin as she readies for what promises to be a great fight.
The Manticore, once again, allows an expression of insecurity to pass across its face. This creature is not only clearly a fierce combatant, but on the verge of desperation. However, with a growl and a sneer, it seems to have reconsidered its tact. In the end, its internal cost:benefit analysis seems to have concluded that the potential meal isn't worth the effort. Looking at Andrømeda and then at each of the other party members, one at a time, in a punctuated manner, the Manticore leaps ten feet into the air with the effort of it's muscular hind legs. Then, with two powerful beats of its dragon wings, it heads straight for Andrømeda.
Reflexively, Andrømeda ducks, putting her axe in a defensive position ready to counter attack, but an attack from the Manticore never comes. In a flash of earth tone colors and with a gust of wind that strongly smells of musty wild animals, the beast first heads southeast, then circles about to head northeast.
The woman from the second story window appears a few moments later at what used to be her front door. "Well, first of all, thank you for scaring that thing off. But, what did it say about a dragon?" Although the immediate danger has gone, she is clearly still concerned about the new potential threat. "Not that we can do much about that right this minute. Now, I'm sure you all must have come up here for some reason other than that Manticore or for me to ramble on. I'm Adabra. What can I do for you?"
Kwisatz pulls out a notebook and starts mumbling to himself while jotting down notes "wing span... tail spikes... Human face..."
Then, replying to Adabra says "Ah Adabra! Darrin, the town Cleric, said we'd find you here. By the way... were your parents into the study of the magical arts? Your name is fascinating, it actually resembles one part in the incantation for a couple simple spells... Ah, though perhaps we can discuss that later! May we come in? We were told to inform you of the dragon... though it seems that part is done as well!"
Adabra looks at Kwiz with a bemused expression at his ramblings. "Ah, yes. Do you have any other information about the dragon? Where is it? And, yes, do please come in." She backs up into her windmill, gesturing for the party to walk inside.
"To answer your first question, no, I don't think I do have any wizards or sorcerers in my lineage; however, I do make health potions. I think I still have four of them in stock. 50gp, each, if you're interested."
"We actually don't..." Kwisatz replies slowly, adding "We were just asked by the townmaster to come warn you of the dragon, and say that it may be dangerous to live here alone. Perhaps we could escort you back to Phandalin while the beasts are around?"
"Oh, I don't think I'll be going with you," she replies matter of factly. "This windmill is the last thing I have left of my parents, and my grandparents before them. But, I'll tell you what..." she walks over to a ladder towards the northeast corner of the room and climbs up. "Just a minute," she yells down from the second floor. "I'll be right back down."
A minute or so passes by and she comes back down the ladder. Holding her hand out with a sealed scroll, she walks back over to you and says, "Here. Take this to the townmaster so that he knows I'm safe. If I come into any danger, I'll find a way to get word back to town."
Kwisatz takes the scoll, holds it in his hands and says "I see... well..."
((I'll wait for the rest to chime in and see how they feel with this interaction. Kwiz is willing, though reluctant, to take the scroll and let her remain here alone, as it's not what he was directed to, but also that he knows that magical scrolls can provide many various effects which could provide useful, and is willing to trust Adabra.))
((You don't get the impression that this is a magical scroll. With her body language and tone of voice, you are thinking that this is a common scroll with a message contained within.))
Andrømeda, who seemed more interested in pouting at the sky in the direction the Manticore flew away in, lamenting a bit at the missed opportunity for a good fight, finally turns back to the group. Walking up to Rush, she drops a hand on his shoulder, still with a bit of a pout on her face, and asks, "Wie did the screaming lady go? If am remember, we net to make sure she is safe, yes?"

If you think my puns are bad, I'll remind you, my profile pic says otherwise.
Adabra hears Andromeda's comment to Rush and she looks over towards the two of them and says, "Oh, well... That 'screaming lady' was me. And, I very much appreciate you showing up when you did."
Then, addressing the whole group, she says, "If that was the message, then it is appreciated. You have that letter from me to let the townmaster know I'm okay. I do have potions for sale, as I mentioned. If you don't need any, that's fine. Are you all headed back to town this afternoon, or somewhere else?"
"Some rations?" The Manticore makes a grotesque noise that sounds a little bit like...laughing?
It rears its tail above its head, pointing the tip in the direction of group.
