Quin turned to Throm and asked, “There’s a spider infestation in this *fancy* hotel? Do you know what kind of spiders they are?”

Quin thought for a moment and answered, “What I meant to say was yes, of course I will be glad to help. Let’s do it!”

Throm, Quin, Hatch, Lia are all on spider duty.

Thoradin and Lok: still drinking, or want to take a combat break?

"I suppose I should tag along as well, let me just finish my drink here."

"Haha, Now Those were some good drinks!" The barbarian laughed

"Quite the impressive feat dwarf, I concede this challenge." Lok said handing Thoradin 50 gp 

"If no one else is drinking, perhaps you want to fight the rats with us?" he added before walking over and joining Hatch

"Oh, Hello there." noticing the half-elf who was chatting with Hatch and Throm

"Names Lok" The barbarian continued with a nod  "dont remember you around the bar, just get here?" 

“Hello Lok. I’m Quin. Yes, I just arrived here.”

Quin turns back to look at the door, eyes wary. 

“I understand there’s a spider problem. Now that sounds like the kind of problem we should be able to take care of pretty easily.”  She turns her head one more time towards the door and gets up from the bar stool and drinks the rest of her stout appreciatively. 
“Let’s do it!”

The doors to the cellar are opened, and reveal a staircase descending into the darkness. Thick webs quickly cover the fifteen feet of visible passageway so that the bottom of the staircase cannot be seen.

(The webs are difficult terrain, but a five-foot square can be cleared with either one action or one Attack, as well as any fire damage.)

Hatch takes out and lights a torch.

Throm will likewise take a torch and light it with Hatch’s torch. Then flanking off Hatch’s shield arm, he will begin burning a clearing down one side of the stairwell. He will also be very vigilant looking for movements in and through the webs.

OOC: not sure what happened with that roll. Was supposed to be +4 to perception.

Quin, following behind Hatch and Throm is glad she didn't use a create bonfire spell which was her first inclination. She's been in too many strange dungeons lately she realizes.

She takes a cue from them and lights her torch to help clear the way. She tries to perceive anything in the gloomy stairwell.

Lok follows them
taking out his trusty dagger to cut any webs that get in the way

You make it to the bottom of the stairs, and manage to clear enough webs to all stand on the main floor. The ceiling is about 10 feet high, and the air is stale but dry. Directly ahead the end of two wine-racks can be seen, which extend deeper into the cellar. To the left and right kegs stand against the wall adjoining the stairs, but the other walls are obscured by the webs. There is no movement to be seen.

Hatch says "Makes sense to follow the path with the most webs, right?"

Throm will hold his torch high and focus on the ceiling, burning any webs that might be above and confirming the height of the ceiling. Don’t want any surprises dropping on us. Once he’s convinced the ceiling is clear, he will begin looking for sconces on the walls so that we can add more light down here.

Quin looks at Hatch and says, “It’s kind of hard to tell which way has the most but I agree, we should follow the web. I’m wondering how there can be such a dense proliferation of webs without any sign of movement.

This place is creepy. It’s too still. Maybe we should each focus our attention in one direction like Throm is watching the ceiling. One of us could maybe focus on the left, one on the right, and one on the floor.”

Lia had stayed to the back, longsword drawn. She nods at Quin's suggestion. "I'll watch everyone's backs."

Quin nods and says, "I'll watch the left. If I look up at the ceiling too long, I'll get dizzy."  Maybe Lok can watch the ceiling?

Hatch watches the area ahead, burning webs and trying to determine the direction of the most webs. He does have one of his battle-axes in the other hand.
