(probably should have just waited for you Tryn, but I have a +3 perception. Not awful compared to your nature :)
Veryes realizing very quickly that she should leave the nature stuff to Trynwyn feels like a complete buffoon not being able to make out anything in the rocks or dirt. She has never failed at ANY task so completely before and turns a bright red in her embarrassment. She says "Well, darn it Tryn, now I probably messed any tracks up walking all over the place. I hope you can still make something out"
(If I, or someone else, can't give him a help action I'll give him bardic inspiration for a check.)
Traveling up the mountain as the ground becomes more rocky and sheer still. The patches of rubble sliding underneath each step. The group still wired from the night previous as every rustle in bare bushes and every twig snap causes a jolt to look in the general direction. The trail runs cold as all packs of dirt fade away. Instead relying on logical pathways of the stones and easiest routes of travel as opposed to visible tracks. It does take several hours. But you find the group Has reached a small plateau. A small clearing of flat land about 40 x 40 feet. Rows of bushes and grasses line the edge. The dirt shows kobold tracks and small goat tracks in high volume. Mostly in circles and all over the place. On the mountainside of the plateau, there is an entrance to a cave. The opening is about 15 feet wide and 10 feet tall.
Trynwyn looks to the others. “Can someone hold a torch? My hands are full, and I don’t much like the idea of chasing after Kobold thieves in the dark.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rimmy digs carelessly through his pack throwing items aside as he searches. After a small pile of items has collected near his feet he removes the tinderbox from the bottom of the bag and unties the torch from the side of the pack. He spends the better part of a minute with the flint and tinder before the torch catches.
"A little out of practice, but that should do." He plant the torch in the ground temporarily, as he re-gathers the items strewn about from his search. Recollecting the torch, he starts to cautiously make his way into the cave. "Well, shall we?"
[skill]Perception[/spell] for dangers in the cave: 17 (Guidance roll, if needed 4)
Walking down the cave, the flame from the torch illuminating the sides of the walls. Reflective with moisture as the yellows and ranges dance with the shadows. Rimmy doesn’t see anything that causes concern as the begin walking down the tunnel.
Veryes will follow a bit towards the rear of the group. Although it still feels odd in her hand she will have her crossbow ready. (whomever is taking lead. Seems like it's Rimmy right now) Veryes will pat them on the shoulder saying "We got this" casting bardic inspiration on whoever is in lead.
"Yes, yes. Let's head into the dark gloomy cave. Seems that's all death brings anyway"he sounds deflated after his less than fulfilling brush with Death. He trundles into the cave behind Rimmy, dragging his feet somewhat.

(Order looks to be Tryn, Rimmy, Veryes, Kondo)
As the group shuffled along in the cold and dark cave. Brief glimpses of light and flickers of heat from the torch. The tiny echoes of each footstep on the hard packed dirt and stone grounds.
The party hears a *swish* followed by a rope being ran through by a release of pressure. As Kondo triggered a trap and a slipknot pulls tight into his right ankle and pulls him up towards the ceiling, bashing into the rocks and left hanging ten feet in the air.
Kondo takes 2 bludgeoning damage.(and technically considered grappled)
The cave was cold. Kondo preferred cold. He was actually quite happy to be heading underground. That's where undead could be found - at least so he'd heard. Contemplating his recent NDE and the thought of undead hordes he is completely oblivious to the trip wire. That is until he's whisked into the air. "What the h..... Ahh, guys. Guys. Anyone there?" he says, spinning on the spot while dangling more than twice his height from the floor.
New survival, perception, or nature roll for tracking is needed.
Veryes will have a look around for the trail. Perception: 4
Re-rolling halfling lucky: 4

((Is it near dark? The several hours it took would've only taken us to mid afternoon would it not? Even with the later start))
Yes, it’s mid day. But there is no light source within the cave from what you can tell. After the first 40-60 feet it is pitch black.

With a quick *thunk* *phoot* the bolt cuts through the rope before sticking into the stone wall. Kondo falls to the floor.
