(( Cool. The intent was to take a second rope up, then throw one end down, so that we could form a loop around the pillar. Then, the rope could be tied to the corpse, and those at the bottom could haul it up. Also, the new joined rope could be tied around the waist of someone climbing, with those at the bottom taking up the slack so that a fall would not be fatal. Perhaps it's a bit to Wylie-Coyotee! The final climber(s) could be helped by everyone at the top... ))
Assuming we all make it up safely, when we get near town Ithelion will suggest that someone goes ahead to fetch Felosian and/or the priest, to advise about the best course of action.

Garnet - STR - 5
Garnet - PERCEPTION - 16
You all make it up the rope but it isn't easy by any means! Then, working efficiently, Garnet and Krom bring up Karakas' torso. Daemyar straps it to his back as before. With Ithelion's guidance, you are able to quickly orient yourself and go on your way. You travel as well as you can, with a torso strapped to one of your companions' back, though at times Daemyar stops to deal with the shifting body, the stench, and the various juices, goo, and ooze that leak from a dead body. Ithelion takes pity a few times, casting a friendly cantrip that transforms the odor around Daemyar. Daemyar, for his part, tries not to let it publicly bother him, his pride and honour are such that he doesn't ask for help or even to switch with someone. The hobgoblin knows that if there is any unpleasantness to come, he'll have to work to get the body free or else it would certainly hinder his ability to defend himself.
Those who rolled Perception 16 or more notice a shifting figure tracking you, it flits in and out of the trees off to the sides of you. Ithelion, you recognize this as the wolf that you left earlier. Perhaps an hour into the journey and you lose sight of it altogether.
As you crest a small hill and the road runs into a bit of a valley, you notice the old farmhouses from earlier. Again, anyone who rolled a Perception 16 notices that, off to the west, there is a deer carcass (you're a bit elevated) but you also see another truly horrible sight: there seems to be about 5 giant ant-like creatures moving back and forth from the carcass into the woods. They are large - about 5-6 feet in length - and have a deep orange/brown colour. You are about 60 feet or so from them.
Worse still, there seems to be some humanoid figures near the carcass - they are poorly dressed and armed with simple, farming tools as weapons. They are fighting a couple ants and it doesn't look to be going well, from your quick analysis. It won't be long before the ants kill them, assuming you do not intervene.
The giant ants are busy - Perception 1715 - but as you are not moving quietly and the fact that the ants have tremendous sense of smell, they notice you easily. So an ambush or suprise is out of the question. However, they are currently busy with the humans - who have not noticed you yet.
What do you wish to do?
MAP (assume you are at the bottom left, just off the map - 5 foot squares)
She glances briefly at hr companions, before backing behind them and moving into the cover of the trees, hoping to get a clear shot at an ant without being observed (( I don't know if that is eve slightly practical in the circumstances )).
Stealth: 17 (( just in case; its a pity she doesn't have say, a cloak of elven kind right about now ;-) ))
She emerges briefly from behind a tree and fires at an ant that is asttacking the humans, then moves back into the trees away from where she was.
Attack: Attack: 25 Damage: 11 ((extra attack roll of she managed to get advantage 12 )
Daemyar does a mental catalogue. Turning on to the others: “If there are ants, there’s a nest. Who has oil? We need to cut off the rest. Split up and have someone go start a fire in the nest’s entrance, and the rest drive off or kill the ants on the surface. Aye?”

I'll give it to you.
Ithelion's arrow finds purchase in the body of the A1. It doesn't fell the ant but it is severely injured and it's movement is halved. Unfortunately (but fortunately for the peasants), your group now has the undivided attention of the ants as their heads all turn towards you. Several clicking noises can be heard, even from this distance. One of the ants that was walking away drops the flesh it was carrying as well.

@Lorell - you make it up as well, in similar fashion to Ithelion.
The rest just roll a strength check - low DC (5). Otherwise you'll incur a point of damage.
