Visibly confused by Omanorin's comment, Jalin responds."Yes, I have a few jobs for those who are willing to risk their lives. I know you aren't worried about that." He smiles. "I've got several things that need to be done, some more important, some easier." He grabs one of the papers of the table and slides it across to your end. "Found this in one of the wagons, a letter from the leader of The Black Talon, Jaegger, to Karn." He pauses. "What do you know about Grimwarden?"

 What does Kern know about it?

Most of the group would know the following: The champion of Aedaerin, Arthur Grimwarden is believed to have helped the Vonthan mercenaries take the palace and slay the king. He has not been seen since the fall of the capital. Both the Remnant and The Black Talon have been searching for him since the beginning of the war.

"Isn't he the champion that is missing?"  Kern asks.

"What does the letter say?"

(Karn:

I received your letter regarding Grimwarden and have dispatched my best to find him. He won’t last long. I assure you; he won’t escape from us again. The shipment of stones from Vonthal will be arriving within the week, I will be personally delivering them in two tendays. These stones will easily change the tide.

Rebellion notes: I’ve put down two rebellions around the port. We suffered few losses, and I taught the rabble a lesson they won’t soon forget.)

"We have been looking for Grimwarden for weeks, all of our accounts say he helped Vonthal overrun the palace, and we want to capture him, and execute him for treason. But this letter tells a different story. Clearly the New Vonthans are looking for him, why, we don't know, but Arthur must not work for them anymore, if he ever did. These rocks also pose a problem. If they are as many as Jaegger says, then this could be trouble. We need to make a move now, or it will be too late. You can go after Grimwarden, or the stones, but if you're not ready, I have smaller jobs that can be done."

Cayden takes mental notes on the nearest red crows on the map that he can see. He then looks up at Jalin and holds up his closed hand, rubbing his thumb and index finger together signifiying payment.

There are several red crows in Andostead, and a few more in the surrounding area.

Seeing Cayden's signal. "We are low on funds, but we should be able to give you each fifteen to twenty gold pieces per person, plus whatever you find on your missions." 

Kelgar steps forward at the sound of the rewards. Here's hoping they have some ale then, i could use a drink.

He puts his hands on his new armor. We will find this Grimwarden, ive been round enuff stones in me life. 

"Are we to capture him alive?"

"Preferably. If he is guilty of treason, he should be hung publicly, if he didn't work for the Vonthans, then he could help our cause greatly." 

"Seems like we have a job then." Kern agrees.  "Do we have a direction to start looking?"

"And do you know if he will be alone or will he have friends that we need to deal with?" Scal asks.

"One doesn't hide from the Vonthans by befriending everyone one sees, so, since he has eluded capture this long, he must be alone. It's the Vonthans you have to worry about, if they are looking for him, you are bound to come across patrols. The best place to start looking would probably be in Phoria, where the letter came from. If Karn sent Jaegger a message regarding Grimwarden, then Jaegger should still have it. This letter is the key. If you leave now, you can get a head start before dark, if not, you are welcome to stay the night."

"Le'ts be off then." kern says, ready to move out.

"If you wish to leave now, I will fetch you some horses. I must warn you, before the war, Aedaerin was a very safe place to travel, the Vanguards made sure of it, but since Vonthal took over, the orcs from the North, and the Gnolls from the East have been terrorizing our beautiful county, be careful during the night."

Jalin goes and fetches the horses, their saddle bags are full with items like rations, bedrolls, water-skins,  and other useful items.

"The city will be full of people at this time of the day, act natural and you will be fine. You should take the South gate, it will get you out of the city faster, but beware, the guards are suspicious of anyone trying to leave, and they will question you." Jalin smiles. "Good luck, you'll need it." 

As the group begins to ride off, Jalin calls to them. "Look for the white crow, you'll be safe there!" He then hurries back into the base.
