Wash says "The craftsmanship looks fantastic, though 100 gold is a lot of money. I take it for that much coin you would repair the small timeclocker for free if it stopped working? Also, I sensed some sorrow, is everything ok?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Wash will also be looking around the shop for anything else interesting (understanding the limitations set out before that it is mostly music boxes, toys and clocks/watches).
Nothing to trouble yourself about, young man, the gnome replies. And as for the piece, yes, if you are in town and would like it repaired, I would only charge for replacement parts. Is there one in particular that catches your eye?
With regards to your search, I would say, is there any kind of thing that you're particularly looking for as you investigate?
[Does any specific watch catch Wash’s eye? Is there much difference between them?
I think the toys that move by themselves would have caught Wash’s interest, though he will also be looking for anything he thinks would help or be of interest to his new friends.]
There's quite a wide selection. For those that are not designed to be in a house on the wall, they mostly look like pocket watches, a bit bigger than the average one you would see, with a chain and a winding mechanism. Several appear to be brass, or steel; a few with silver or gold decorations.
Your new friend hisses a little warning hiss at one of the louder clicking clocks machines as you get near, and shifts on your shoulder a little. They don't look hostile, just giving a friendly warning.
For the toys that move themselves, you see a brass horse pulling a wagon, with a winding mechanism. There's a horse by itself, but it's rather shaky when you try it, and Tinkertop explains that he's still working on the balance.
You see one device that might be of use; a little clockwork spider with a gem embedded on top of it. That's a Spiderlight, Tinkertop says enthusiastically. Created to support our lasses and lads in the Crownsguard, you see. He taps the gem, and it starts to glow with the light of an average torch; he winds a mechanism and it moves along the floor. Provides up to an hour of light each day, and will follow its owner, yes indeed. It has a little trouble with some terrain, of course, and it can't do walls, only the floor. Still, very useful if you need your hands free for fighting and suchlike.

Alton moves his attention from the clocks and looks around for any music boxes. Particularly, ones that look like they might be special or just well made.
They are all well-made, and you see a variety of designs. Most are quite small, and would fit into the palm of your hand. The music is mostly children's songs that you would hear in the Empire; some are familiar to Alton, though others are perhaps specific to Hupperdook. Many feature a spinning and dancing figure inside; usually a bird whose beak opens and closes as the music plays. Tinkertop explains that children seem to like that.
Is there anything specific that Alton would be looking for?
Alton looks through the music boxes seeing if he can find any that has something close to a bard of some type that plays one of the more familiar songs.

Wash’s eyes widen even more at the spiderlight and he asks "how much are these remarkable things?"
After discussing that Wash asks his little dragon-friend off to the side "what is wrong with that machine you warned me about? Can you show me with your mind-pictures?"
There is one that shows a female elf bard, beautifully painted. She plays three songs (there's a switch on the back to let you choose, and you can also set her on a timer for up to fifteen minutes before she starts playing). Two of the songs are familiar to you: one is popular in your home town as a tale of lovers across two sides of an ancient war who faced each other on the battlefield. The other you know as a hymn of praise to the Knowing Mistress, though you have heard other, less respectable versions of the lyrics. The third you do not know, and Tinkertop doesn't either. He simple explains that he heard a bard passing through town play it, and remembered the tune. This device costs 50 gold.
The Spiderlight is 120 gold pieces.
Wash, the image pops into your mind of a dark, frightening place, and this time the image is accompanied by sounds, clicking sounds coming from the darkness. The sounds are quite different in some ways to the ticking of the clockwork, but still you get a sense of remembered dread and strong dislike from the creature.
Alton, you find one that plays a single tune, a well-known folk song. The music box doesn't open or feature any moving figures, but it is beautifully decorated with colourful pictures of the countryside of the Marrow Valley, looking very much like home.
Ah yes, that one is a collaboration, a young artist from Trostenwald was passing through and I asked him to lend me his talents. He made a total of ten pieces, that's the last one.
Wash, you buy a sturdy bronze pocket clock watch timepiece thing, and are pleased with the result. Your new friend sniffs it, but does not seem too bothered.
Cleff Tinkertop seems genuinely surprised and pleased by the purchases. Well, thank you, thank you so much. I hope to see you again in the future, eh? He takes your money happily.
Is there anything else you want to do here, or are you ready to go back to Goldcannon's Estate to discuss your plans with him?

Alton holds onto the music box he found and searches for a second one that looks neat.

[Wash will buy one of the pocket watches - the sturdiest looking one. I'll remove the 100 gold tomorrow morning.]

(How much for both music boxes?)

50 gold each, 100 for the pair, or you can try a Persuasion check to attempt a haggle...

Alton throws in an extra 50 gold in his payment as he gets the sense that he doesn't see much business. With that, he is done at this shop.
