"It favors the greatly prepared even more greatly. Be quick and not dead, Allister, Vargach." As she says this, Sthara casts haste on her two comrades, splitting its magic by manipulating the power as it flows through her arms.
"Supposing we defeat the big lizard, I suppose that means we can consider ourselves safe from Chult's wildlife?"
As Sthara finishes casting her spell, she looks towards the beast just to keep it in her sights. The sorceress comes to the very real understanding that the beast noticed the spell castings and is now running full speed towards the party.
"If fear friends. We've just got an amazing beast upon our hands," Funderburk began to say, scratching his chin in amazement. "I do wonder how much for a tooth however. Or it might look nice on Dunk. You never know... strap it to her back and... a battering ram."
"I could've set the hut up, y'know, and we could've waited 'till it got bored and buggered off", and Boosey gives an ironic grin, "It's more fun this way anyhow, besides it'll make a good story. Those bloody lobsters weren't wrong when they said "Lizard Big"!" He finds himself laughing and shaking his head at the situation. "And they call this normal..."
He looks at the beast, still some distance off. "Right get close to each other everyone. I only get the one chance at this and you don't want to be on the outside when this pops up!." And he begins the ritual for the spell Leomund's Tiny Hut"Someone go through my equipment, there is a bag of caltrops in there. Spread them in front of us, it may buy us some time!"
„How big are the caltrops? Two feet? Shit, I’ll give it a try.“ Allister put his crossbow down and rummages through Boosey‘s pack until he find the caltrops. Then he dashes forward and spreads them on the ground, approximately 100 feet from the ground. He rushes back, cursing under his breath, grabs the crossbow and starts firing as soon as he thinks it’s barely possible to hit.
In meer seconds, the creature clears hundreds of feet. Its large feet stomping down smaller trees as it comes on roaring loudly. Birds take to the sky wanting to be away from this fearsome predator. Eku readies her bow near the small gnome casting his spell.
If anyone wants to do a thing, I am skipping to round seven here. You have six rounds for whatever. We're back at the top with Vargach. The creature moved 100 feet per round, putting it 300 feet away now. Vargach, I realize your bow can reach 600 feet, giving you three rounds of shots when the creature was moving from 600-300 feet away.
As the creature charges forward and the ranger and fighter begin shooting, Nenne weaves a sign over them as she clasps her amulet. "Aim true, friends!"she says as she casts Bless.
With adrenaline and divine energy pulsing through his body Allister is able to rapidly fire six bolts from his crossbow, some missing but also scoring some nasty hits. As the creature is near enough to take better aim he yells „Ladies, get your ghostly weapons ready and let ´em hover some place above your heads.“

Funderburk, when the beast was all but 200ft from their location, began to cast mage armor. Finally, knowing it was in range for his next attack, once the beast was only 100ft away, he began to slam his staff on the ground, and chant. And the end of his chanting, four magical missiles produced from his staff and headed towards the beast. Each playing their part.
As the massive carnivore is peppered with shots it roars out in pain. Several of those shots leave the projective embedded up to the fletching. The magical missiles are the last straw for the creature. A hundred feet from the party, it turns to flee.
“That went well.“ Seeing the colossal creature flee gives Allister a feeling of satisfaction before he slumps on the ground as the spell leaves his body exhausted.
"Poor creature," Nenne says as she watches it retreat. "Still, I should think we have bought some peace in this region of the jungle for a time."
She claps Vargach on the shoulder. "Your marksmanship is formidable, archer, and I have served with some of the best. Yours as well, friend warrior," she adds to Allister. "I am impressed."

“Not done,” Funderburk managed to say before he began to advance towards the now running beast, “He started this battle, I intend to try and finish it.” With that, Funderburk once more raised his staff above the ground, chanting as so. Once completed, he slammed the staff in the dirt, producing his last chance of getting the creature, and cast five blue missiles towards the creature. “Here it goes.” If his friends called out to him or tried to stop him, it was all in vien, his thoughts were on the prize.
Vargach had seen the massive hunter approach and had done his darndest to slow or stop it. Almost 20 arrows later, he could see the fruit of his labors. It had spun around and was on the retreat, but apparently Funderburk was not done with it yet.
He drew the strong of his bow back one more time, picturing the arrow hitting and exploding into a hail of thorns, which it did to great effect. He was wondering if it would hurt the creature enough to finish it, doubting it had the dexterity necessary to dodge all of the sharp pieces headed its way.
Before she can register what the wizard is doing, Eku stands watching the huge reptile go. The rest of the party looks relieved to have never had to go toe to toe with the beast. As the magical missiles fly out once more, Eku dashes forward in a flash towards the wizard yelling, "Stop!" Her words are too late and three arrows whiz by promising more death to the creature as Vargach slumps to the ground. Eku shoves Funderburk forward in a clear sign of anger. Clutching her bow in a white knuckled fist, she yells at him as the beast lets out its dying sound in the distance, "What are you doing? That creature was fleeing! Have you no honor!?" As she says this last question, her gaze directs to encompass the ranger as well. The beast lets out one last dying sound and a tear rolls from each of Eku's eyes as she slumps into a kneeling position.
The Vedalken, now confused, looks at Eku, now slumped on the ground. “Honor? I know not what you are talking about.” His head tilts to the side. “He intended to fight us, that is all. There is no room for cowardliness in this world. Even I learned that in a library.” Funderburk turns away from her and starts to advance towards the beast. “I will collect supplies. If you wish to stay and not join me then that is fine.”
With that, Funderburk advances towards the beast, intended on getting what he came for.
Not understanding the woman’s reaction, Vargach unstrings his bow and puts it away. This was a good thing, a great foe had been slain and they would not have to worry again about him prowling around again. He was concerned seeing the woman collapse.
”Eku injured, why you hurt? Did not see you get hit?”
He was unsure if there was some sort of strange magic going on, but maybe this was a legitimate form of expression among these folk. He vividly remembers Allister beating Nenne into a pulp and wonders what other strange customs they may have.
Nenne glances between the fallen beast, the crying Eku, the callous wizard and the confused ranger. As surprise fades, she straps her crossbow onto her pack and sighs. Arms folded, she walks up to Vargach and looks him dead in the eye.
"I understand that you are accustomed to eliminating threats as protector of your tribe," she says. Her expression is serious, but not harsh or combative, and her tone is one of carefully measured patience. "However, I would like to think that even you are familiar with the concept of mercy. Eku is injured by the impact of your actions, archer. That creature was simply protecting itself and its own territory; when it recognized us as superior in strength, it fled and in doing so ceased to be a threat to us. That kill was therefore unnecessary and heartless. She is hurt by that." Nenne sighs again, and turns a shade bluer. "Choices made in a moment can have effects on the lives of others that last far beyond what we expect. I hope you can learn from this before you make a choice that does deeper injury to another."
She places a tender hand on Eku's head for a brief instant before shooting a glance at Funderburk. Her expression hardens considerably and she takes off after him as golden highlights start to glitter amongst her silvery locks.
