Half Plate is medium armor and thus imposed no penalty to stealth.
(( Sadly, 5e has Disadvantage on Half Plate unless it's Mithral. I'm more than happy if this is special Droaam military issue light weight alloy...perhaps a little harpy air force emblem on the corner ))

That’s right, apologies, it’s no movement penalty or strength requirement. It unfortunately would, then, impose disadvantage on stealth.

Galtheon will continue to clean up the armour, thinking that perhaps in the closer confines of the mines it might be useful. Especially since he wont do much damage to undead. But travelling in the wilds, he is much more comfortable in his familiar studded leather.
(( In that case also, if no-one else wants the ring...he will take it ))
Half-Plate is great armor if you have a dex bonus. Evan doesn't have that problem.
I'm pretty sure he will wear it in the mines -- he has no magical weapon so his damage will be very limited. But with that armour, the ring and his shield he's up to AC21...which means he can probably stand in front and at least block corridors...initially he will probably try fighting tho -- it's probably fairly decent damage, even halved once he's set up.
If he does wear the armour in the mines, he should probably hand the ring th Ilecerys the night before, since he will be a decent damage dealer.

Survival(adv) to spot routes: 24
On the Survival check - the ranger spotted an alternate route to the mine, it looks like it might add two days of travel, but it would allow for the horses to be directly outside the mine rather than leaving them at the base of a cliff. It is a meandering path that takes a bit longer, but does offer an alternate option for approach.
Let me know your desired course, all, I will post more tomorrow.
Galtheon enjoys the private moment at the top of the small plateau. Unused to the forced company of so many people, he is also surprised that he -- albeit grudgingly -- is enjoying their presence, and perhaps more importantly, they seem to work well together after such a short time. Okkar chose well. The lad's a worry though -- needs a few more winters to settle him down.
After one last glance at the plateau, he climbs down the rope, unhooking the joined silk ones from the pitons as he goes. When he reaches the bottom, he asks for a leg up to untie the end of the second hempen rope, leaving just one hempen rope attached at the top. He unties the two silk ropes, and reclaims his own then hands the other back to Evan.
He throws the remaining hempen rope on the ground. "Someone's short a rope".
He glances at Evan, "Unless you want to make the climb again."
(( ooc: the climb back up would be easy, because the rope is till there (the top was the hard part). The climb down might be accomplished using the silk rope (100' of it) looped over pitons. If he falls, Taraven could cast Featherfall. When at the bottom, just drag the looped silk rope free.
What I described is what I think Galtheon would do, being the last one down.))
(( some time later if rope-retrieval is done ))
"There's another path to the mine. It's a day longer, but we could leave the horses right outside. And no climbing. Might be safer and simpler if we did that."
He glances at Nanoc, "I know you were anxious to get to the mines, lad. But you also seem mighty attached to that horse of yours -- credit to you -- and I'd prefer the horses were safe."
"What does everyone think? Take a bit longer, but do it right?"
Grinning at the monk, he says, "Or rush in half arsed again?"
Taraven sitting and writing in her notebook about the harpies and the bracers looks up when she hears Galtheon. She says, "I agree with you. It might be safer. Also, it would be good to have the horses right outside the mine in case we need to make a quick getaway."
(( The tyrrany of list-making has probably given Galtheon more gear than is fair...he can certainly use the stuff, and may well pass the ring to Ilecerys, but currently he has the Bracers, the armor (non-magical and noone else can use) and the ring...
Here is the list. Feel free to bookmark, I will try to keep it updated! ))
(( In future, if time permits, Guidance/Bless/Help for Taraven is probably a good plan -- Galtheon will offer 'Help' and forgo his own roll (I assume that's how it works?); probably, if time permits anyone else who rolls can assume guidance? How should we handle this? ))
Yes, Help is done instead of your own check when reasonably possible. I rule it that you must be somewhat able to contribute, on a case by case basis.
That works for me. 'Help' when you have no proficiency can seem a bit daft, but I'd argue Galtheon is very insightful and perceptive, so he might point out something odd that catches his eye for no apparent reason, while Taravan conducts a methodical investigation - they have complimentary skills sets, if you will. Also, "left of field" ideas from non-experts are also sometimes useful.
[OOC: Unless Evan wants to argue the point, Nanoc will take the goggles—after someone shows him what they do come nightfall.
As I said previously, Nanoc is not that familiar (or comfortable) with magic that isn't simple and practical. He's not that bright or worldly wise with things outside of nature and the wilderness either.]

Okkar crosses his arms and closes his eyes, nodding contemplatively. “Yes, probably for the best. Noting multiple routes on the map I’m making might be useful. Err, about my map... It’s not strictly what you were hired for, but if any of you are a decent hand at mapmaking, assuming we succeed in clearing the mine I would like to be able to present a comprehensible route to the clan elders. If any of you would care to do a better job than I am, that would be appreciated. I have no money to offer, I’ve pretty well borrowed and spent all I can getting us this far.”
He shows the group his own map, which is fairly crude, not to scale, and features landmarks drawn with large dwarvish script labels next to them. “Not exactly a professional work product, this.”
I read the comments on the list. Since ranged attacks are more Taraven's style and in case she run out of spell slots, she would most likely use a ranged weapon. At the moment, she has a light crossbow and crossbow bolts. However taking the Bracers and longbow to use for ranged weapon attacks would be a good idea if Galtheon is more melee and nobody else in the group is a ranged weapon attacker. But if she take the bracers and longbow she would need the arrows as well because she only have crossbow bolts. Taraven is doesn't necessarily need it since she has her crossbow.
(( ooc: What is needed for mapmaking; Galtheon would happily assist...he has a lot of time waiting while other people sleep.
And I agree re: Taraven: she is the natural choice for the bracers, longbow, quiver and arrows, if she wants it. All it does is add +2 damage for Galtheon, whereas she gets a whole new ranged option that makes her a credible archer. Loot list tentatively updated. ))
After camp has been setup and the horses seen to, Nanoc will take his sling and go hunting for small game to try to reduce the drain on his dry rations and add some fresh meat to his next meal (the sling would be good for rabbits and small game birds, which is why he carries it). If firewood is an issue at this camp, he will also bring some of that back when he returns for use later in the day.
