Naivara does not spot anything flying above. There also does not appear to be any openings into the dragon's lair anywhere around you.
You start moving towards the center of the ice island.
Due to the blowing snow and ice ridges you are 200 feet from the first of the buildings when you notice the village. Even as you do so several dogs start barking, alerted to your approach.
The village sits in a sheltered spot near the center of the iceberg. When the wind blows — which is most of the time — snow whips off the surrounding drifts and surrounds the settlement in a swirling shroud of white.
Twenty structures make up the village, divided between snow-block shelters similar to igloos and double-walled yurts made from sealskin stretched over whalebone frames. Sixteen of these structures are small, one-room family dwellings. One ice-block shelter is a storeroom used for gear owned in common by the tribesfolk, including fishing nets and heavy ropes used for whaling. One yurt near the center of the village is slightly larger than the others, and is likely home to the Ice Hunter chieftain. A yurt standing apart from the rest of the shelters is home to the a shaman, as indicated by the many animal totems and whalebone carvings around the hut.
The largest structure in the village is the meeting hall, heavily decorated with whalebone and the skulls of fish and mammals.
No columns of smoke rise above the village to give away its location, since the Sea of Moving Ice features no wood or peat to burn. The only artificial heat comes from lamps and tiny stoves burning whale oil. The villagers live on fish, whale meat, and seal meat, eaten raw or dried on racks scattered around the village.
Even as you move on towards the village you see tribal warriors coming out of their homes and forming up to meet you. Among them is one that looks to be the chif of the village, showed respect by the other members of the tribe, a man who could only be a shaman, and a hulking brute.
The chief-looking one steps forward. In a heavily accented voice he says, "What you want here?" As he speaks a group of warriors lope off back towards where you came from. The other members of the tribe give you angry glares, but none have drawn weapons. They mill aorund though, clearly agitated by your arrival.
Kierro takes a step forward, bowing in a gesture of respect. Looking back up to the chieftain he says: "We are here on an expedition, to retrieve items that we believe belong to us. We mean to explore the iceberg, but I don't think that what we are looking for is within your village, likely elsewhere on or within the plateau. We have no plans to disturb or cause harm to you." He says with a glance around to the warriors surrounding them.
Tessa remains hidden behind Honor; but draws a dagger. She looks about the tense group with a mischievous smile. She then mentally reaches into her core to perform a minor magical trick. She casts Minor Illusion to create an illusion of the falling snow before the chieftain and the shaman to form words in the air. The words manifest in large letters spelling out in draconic "LET THEM PASS".
While her companions are busy messing with the villagers, Vilana centers herself for ten minutes, sprinkling a pinch of soot and salt into the snow surrounding her, and really tapping into her ancient soul to provide her ith an understanding of the villager's native tongue, as she starts to comprehend languages.

(The items are definitely down inside the ice island, not in the village.)
"No harm?" The chief asks with a frown. More words are exchanged between him and the shaman (comprehend languages is not up yet.) He glares at the group after the discussion. "Go now. We no have food to feed so many."
As the ground shudders and strange symbols appear in the snow, the chief looks nervous, but the shaman speaks to him again, and the chief seems to grow more resolved. (They don't understand dracconic...)

Kyrian nudges Honour, inclining his head towards the meeting hall. "I think we should convince them quickly or leave before we get a mob of angry villagers trying to impale us with seal bones"

"We have our own food; we don't wish to take what is yours." Kierro says. He adds: "Maybe we could just go around the village; since we don't wish to disturb you, there's no need for us to pass through, if that's what you're worried about."
Thinking a bit, he closes his eyes, requests guidance from his deity, and asks the chief and shaman: "Can you tell us exactly why you want us to leave? We aren't here to attack, or to take from you. We would be leaving you and your village alone while we complete our mission elsewhere on the iceberg. Nothing bad is going to happen." (Persuasion + Guidance: 26 + 2)
Casting mage armor on herself, VIlana is slowly moving forwards, trying to stay within the front third of the group.

Kyrian nods at Honour "There is usually a back entrance, or escape door, in a dragons lair, but they are usually very well hidden, and guarded."

The chief speaks some words in his own language with the shaman near him, the two clearly not happy with your words.
"No items here." The chief says in his heavy accent. "Now leave."
"We don't want to harm you," Naivara says, "we just want to find what belongs to us. We'll stay out of your way."
