"I see." Leto replies, nodding, but not volunteering information he continues "Can I ask from where you remember me? Also, how do you know these Redbrands?" He's clearly as curious about the lack of history, as he is about the Redbrands.
“There is a phenomenon with myself and the others like me where we have encountered objects, things I believe we once possessed, long ago. When we touch these objects we regain flashes of our lost memories. I reclaimed these bracers, and when I first touched them, I had a vision of, well, you,” Mylene says. “I have to assume, therefore, you’re like the rest of us. There are several others, maybe five to seven. Including the two of us, that could make as many as nine.”
”As for the Redbrands, they’re a local force that I allied with yesterday, yesterday being the first day of my current existence,” Mylene adds. “I tried to coordinate with the others with lost memories, to share our experiences to try to learn what we could about this curse, but roughly half of them simply don’t play well with others. I learned what I could from them and now I’m working with the Redbrands to solve this mystery on my own, since some of the others seem to care less about having their pasts ripped away from them.”
”Now I ask again - did this happen to you as well? Did you awaken without clothes or memories? It’s curious how you’ve become so far separated, all the others including myself were centered around a local town. I have my own theories about this - that I was a powerful ruler or general, and my enemies sealed away my memories, as well as those of my underlings, and kept us in some sort of magical sleep, for many years. How we came to break out I have no idea. It’s all theories, of course, at present, but the more information I have, the more likely I can discover the root cause of this, and make whoever enacted this curse pay,” Mylene finishes. She crosses her arms, and waits for Leto’s response.
Leto takes a few moments to process all that he's just been told. He replies, keeping an eye on the Redbrands behind her "That is... more or less consistent with my experiences, yes. Though I awakened... back that way in what appears to be a ruined town. How far are we from where you, and the others, found yourselves? Perhaps everyone of... us" he says with a slight questioning inflection "was someone of power with enemies. Can you tell me more of the others?" He then takes a second, and continues "Also, to where are you headed? And can I ask how you allied yourself with these Redbrands? It seems that perhaps we are on a similar path."
((I'll skip the insight check b/c it seems OOC that she's being mostly honest, so I'll go with the assumption Leto also knows this - Also @DM - Using the roll above, Leto needs to know if the Redbrands have any reaction to him. Until then I'll just keep going with Mylene here))
If Leto is attempting to sense her motives, he does find her to be honest, although beyond that there is a curious vulnerability that she is deeply resentful of. She has a buried desperation regarding Leto’s answer and his cooperation. He seems to mean a lot to her, and she isn’t entirely comfortable with it.
“I agree with your assessment, and based on the memory I experienced, you and I were... aligned. We were certainly well acquainted,” Mylene says. “As for the others, they have bizarrely little concern for reclaiming their past or finding answers, some of them. Some of them admit to a desire to flee their pasts and have a fresh start. Others want to pretend nothing odd has happened and just jump into finding adventures and seeing where the river of chance takes them. I’m not willing to allow random chance to dictate my fate. I will make my own future, and reclaim my past.”
She thrusts out a hip, places one hand on her waist and raises the other hand in a loosely clenched fist. “The others, broadly speaking, would not accept the most basic organizational planning and hierarchy. They refused to heed my edicts, so I sought more reliable allies. Namely the Redbrands. The group of us, those with lost memories, have appeared in their domain. We threaten the stability of this region. I have assured them I am not an agent of chaos. We’ve formed an alliance, accordingly, to our mutual benefit. They’ve provided me the men and manpower to reclaim my lost memories and seek answers, and I will keep them informed, and ensure that we - all of us who were ‘born yesterday’ so to speak - do not disturb the stability of this region, their domain.”
Listening carefully Letoreplies "Then it seems I am with you for the time being." He flexes his right/tattooed hand and says "I feel... that I too was meant for something bigger. It certainly seems that something has plans for me... us." Looking towards her entourage "You clearly seem influential. I am sorry that I do not yet remember you. I have a memory of another like me, though with red skin... She and I were... rivals perhaps? I am not sure. Where are you headed with these men? ... and creatures?"
”Ah, that would probably be the tiefling woman with the pretentious name of ‘Honor.’ She was among those who were particularly unhelpful, entirely unwilling to participate in a basic exchange of information. It does not surprise me. You and I were clearly... allied, in my vision. Perhaps our mutual enemies have followed us here.”
To the other question, she points east. “I felt some compulsion calling me to the east. I believe the others did, and are heading this way even now. I am not sure what it is, but I concluded it might be something that will get us closer to the truth.”
"I, too, would like to know more. And if this compulsion leads to ways to learn what has happened to us, we should re-ally ourselves it seems."Leto says, both thinking that she may actually be on the same side as him, but also knowing that traveling with others is far safer than alone. He then adds "I came from the ruined village just a few miles back. I do not what there is to find."
It's entirely possible that the pull you're talking about has already shifted to me:
Milene continues down the road, the pull getting closer much faster than expected. Soon you swear you are right atop it. She spots a figure hunched in the bushes near the road, the pull drawing her straight towards it.
If this is the case this may affect the 'compulsion' and where to go.

Mylene - Leto
”I’m still very curious what sent you so far afield of the rest. I and the others all woke up in the vicinity of a small town to the west of us. Maybe if we can understand what placed you so Far East of the others, we can learn more about this. Of course, it could mean there are many more of memory erased people, well beyond this region,” Mylene says. “We don’t know of any news elsewhere in this land. This could be a mass phenomenon, for all we know. But who would do this to us, and why, we still aren’t any closer to having the answers to those questions.”
"You truly believe she is in trouble?" Vilana was honestly surprise by Naiwara's naivete. "The girl is quite loud, if you remember. She would not allow anyone to take at least without a yell. Yet, no blood, no signs of struggle, not a sound from that direction. Now think for moment - she is vengeful and violent, she is walking around with the man, known to be a borderline bandit - Higgul here told us that, she disappeared yesterday and today came back in a perfect new clothes. Whoever those Redbrads are, she joined them and now a part of those criminals".
"Do not worry about her, worry about us - she will be first to find our belongings. Looks like indeed, our stuff will end up in the hands of the bandits."
Tessa growls and tends her teeth at the thought of Mylene having one of her possessions. She thinks to herself, I should have slit the riders throat while I had the opportunity. Well, we live and learn or is it relearn in this case. No matter, I won't hesitate nor be dissuaded in the future. They are a week lot and have not the belly for what needs doing.
She says to the group, "Let's be off. The pompous @$$ and his green lackeys couldn't find our gear and memories; but that ***** probably can and will. She would probably keep them for her self or award them to her man servant. We can't travel as fast as them even though they care double riders." Tessa starts moving down the road to wards the pull. She begins to imagine the various ways she can end Mylene, Sylcan, and perhaps his half-elf comrade as well. Surely she would intervene on his behalf and force Tessa's hand. The thoughts bring a smile to her lips and she begins to him a tune to herself as she walks. Maybe it's time to thin the herd a bit...
Milene, the pull is Leto now, or, to be more specific, a small pouch Leto has at his waist.
The men in red cloaks eye Leto with confusion, but no one speaks. (None of the ones who actually saw Leto before are in this group, so they only have descriptions of him and cannot be sure Leto is the same person as the tiefling who appeared in their HQ the previous day.)
Higul shrugs to Honor. "The sheriff was coming with a dwarf from Neverwinter, supposively here in Phandalin to find some lost dwarven mines or something. the pair never arrived."
The group continues on East, following the horse tracks and the road. Eventually you come to where there is a dirt road running South from the road. The horse tracks turn that direction, then stop a bit off the road, looking to meet up with a larger group. From that point the four horses, with 7 men walking and someone leading another horse (or something similar) headed on down the road to the East.
Tessa will continue to follow the pull ignoring the others for the most part; if they follow her great if not great as well. Suspecting that the four brigands have joined up with Mylene and Walter and now been bolstered by even more numbers infuriates Tessa beyond words.
She turns to regard Sylcan her look isn't angry anymore. She simply shakes her head; much like one does when you witness another person do something so incredibly stupid that you can't believe they have lived long enough for you to witness this one act of stupidity.
