Hearing Spider-Nova's typical skittering from the other side of the creature, Velda concentrates and glaring at the feet of the creature from behind her shield, tries to determine its exact position, before she goes for another weighty strike, this time covering her face continuously with the shield though.
hearing the scream from being hit, Velda doubles down, striking at the creature for a second time in a veritable surge of action.
I'm thinking disadvantage for the strike without looking at her target, but advantage from the flanking for a straight roll, right?

Just before Velda’s mostly blind swing, a ball of fire shoots past striking the creature in its shoulder. Then Velda’s swing connects with the beast. Doubling down and going for a second strike you again feel nothing but air. Peeking out from the underside of the shield you see why... the beast has been cleaved in two.
"All clear!" Turning around, Velda sees to her delight that Cadence is on her feet again. "You gave me a scare there, dear! Dammit, now I'm doing it too."

Spider Nova would back off the foes corpse. There was a flurry of action that had taken over and overwhelmed her senses. She’d skitter back onto the wall to move herself out of the way, puttering around as she’d watch over their group as they took a moment. The druid would inspect the northern corridor and space to make sure no other threats would/could surprise them.

Rathe creeps forward, lowering her bow. She asks someone in the crevice to grab the one arrow of hers she sees isn’t broken in two. She also looks around for anything of note - dangerous or valuable.

”What was that foul beast? It was laughing inside my head. I did not like it! Was it a friend of these red-garbed fellows? What is this place? New friend of mine, are you okay? I thought we had lost you for a few seconds there. I evidently have many questions.”
Cadence, the sword opens easily with the use of your sword, though from your position next to it on the ground you cannot see the contents. Would you like to look in and see what’s there, if anything?
Nova as you skitter up the wall and onto the ceiling. You easily avoid detection in the darkness, at least as far as you can tell. The northern passage leads to a set of stairs that descend ten feet before continuing ten more feet with a door leading north and a door leading south. You don’t see any other creatures in this hallway or hear anything indicative of any nearby threats.
In the cover of the shadows and convenience of the ceilings and walls, Nova would continue her scout. She’d skitter her way down the hallway to listen in on both doors before she’d consider going through one.

SpiderNova would drop from the ceiling, turning to land on her eight legs just as she came within range of the ground. She’d skitter back to the main area to try to find the best spot to sit in a sentry position to keep an eye on who she could as they went about their own investigations. The druid would tuck herself in to make herself as small as possible. She was like a fly on the wall, but a spider.
Being able to make out another set of stairs, Velda slowly inches back, and heads over to the wall she last saw Nova near. Clearing her throat, once she's face to "face" with the spider on the wall, she says: "Hrm... um... not sure how this works, but... uh... I found another set of doors further to the side. I don't want a repeat of last time. I don't know how this animal form works, but can you squeeze below the crack of the door and see what is behind, so I don't have to kick the wrong door down this time?" After a little while, her cheeks grow darker: "I'm such a fool, I don't even know if you understand me in this form. Thanks to your eyes, I at least know I'm not just talking to any random spider..."

Cadence drags the chest up the steep side of the cavern and clears her throat, "I found treasure, which you'll want to check for sure."
She points in the chest which contains 160 sp, 120 gp, five malachite gems, two potions of healing, a spell scroll of augury, and a long sword with its hilt worked in the shape of a bird of prey with outspread wings. She picks up a potion of healing, tucking it into her belt, and a malachite gem and 10 gold. She handles the long sword, trying to figure if it's magical or not, but doesn't take it, returning it to the box. (Will ritually cast detect magic if necessary to find out.) Then she backs away from the box.
"My body hurts, does anyone have a spell or healing lotion...otherwise i may drink this potion..."
