For most of his life Tisto has simply floated and let life make decisions for him. however he now finds himself in a situation where he has to make a decision and he is struggling with it. Knowing that he is being closely watched by Kruphix he thinks long and hard on his options before electing to consolidate his strengths rather than chase after something that is new, bright and shiny.
(OOC I elected to go for Lvl 4 Sorcerer with +1 Cha & +1 Con)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the Fire elemental appear you realize that the previous tests have left you weaker than you would like. You call out to the gods who grant your request and suddenly time seems to pause. What feels like an hour of time passes as you heal your wounds and also find that you grow in strength. Feeling refreshed and strengthened you come out of the rest and face the creature who looks like Calistio. The echo of Kruphix's last words fill your mind. “Only the light of the sun, in shadow, will hold her back.”
Initiative - Areus13, Callaphe11, Saya7, Soren21, Tisto21, Fire Elemental17
Areus calls upon Iroas asking to grant him the strength to face the last challenge. He then moves to his left throwing two javelins at the creature hoping to distract the creature and give an opening to the rest of the group.
Movement 1 square to the left
Bonus action: Rage
Action: Javelin Attack: 22 Damage: 15 Javelin Attack: 18 Damage: 10 (Reckless attack to get advantage)
(If one of attack hits I will spend 1 Superiority Dice for Distracting Strike (2 Extra damage) granting advantage to the next attack roll against the creature.)
Tisto sizes up the Fire Elemental and calls upon all of his innate power casting [Spell]Witchbolt[\Spell] at Lvl 4 and bending the Tides of Chaos to ensure the bolt flies true "time to put this guy's fire out" Attack: 17 Damage: 14.
Wild magic roll = 9
Can he call upon the Tides of Chaos again = 12 - yes
Impact of regaining Tides of Chaos = 59 and regains a Lvl 1 Spell slot
Reaction: When the Fire Elemental reaches out to attack in its turn Tisto yells out "that's not a flame in fact I'd say it's barely a spark" using cutting word to reduce its to hit roll by 2
A beam of crackling, blue energy lances out toward the fire elemental and it is sheathed in lightning which isn't half as as strong as it could have been. Tisto regains his tides of Chaos ability but no wild magic surges from him.
Soren is up
Areus (86/86), Tisto (54/54), Soren (66/66+2), Fire Elemental (20) -2 on next to hit roll, Callaphe (59/59), Saya (62/62)
Soren roars a challenge at the elemental. The protective power of the mask has nearly run dry, but Soren charges the creature none the less. His sword travels in fluid arcs, like waves at high tide.
Rushing into battle Soren slashes at the elemental with his blade and while it strikes true the elemental again resists the damage dealt it.
As he stands near the elemental he takes 9 fire damage.
The elemental retaliates against Soren reaching out with its fire and trying to hit him
Attack: 16 Damage: 9
Attack: 11 Damage: 12
The first strike lands and flames ignite over Soren's body but his armor helps him resist the damage. But his wreathed in flames and if he doesn't douse the flames he will be burned again on his next turn.
Until a creature takes an action to douse the fire, the target takes 5 fire damage at the start of each of its turns.
Callaphe and Saya up and then start of the order again.
(If allowed) Saya takes put her water skin, pour some on her hand, brings it to the front of her mouth, and blows it into the air. (Saya will cast Sleet Storm centered on the elemental.) The few drops of water that were blown from Saya’s hand, becomes a torrent of water and ice. Dark clouds forms on top of the fire elemental, blocking any light shining from above. In an instant, the creature is doused with icy water. “Soren, be careful in the storm!!”

"Science is organized knowledge. Wisdom is organized life."
Callaphe sends 2 arrows at the elemental, the first is burned to ashes as it reaches the body but the seconds penetrates a bit further and does some damage, but the creature is resistant to it.
Saya conjures up a sleet storm and freezing rain and sleet begin to shower down on everyone. The entire area becomes heavily obscured and you are all effectively blinded within it.
The flames that have ignited over Soren's body are extinguished.
Additionally within the obscuring fog you hear a hissing sound as the water pelts the fire elemental.
Areus, Tisto and Soren are up.
At the start of your turn you must make a DC15 Dex save or become prone at the start of your turn. If you must expend 1/2 your movement to get up.
A prone creature's only movement option is to crawl, unless it stands up and thereby ends the condition. The creature has disadvantage on attack rolls. An attack roll against the creature has advantage if the attacker is within 5 feet of the creature. Otherwise, the attack roll has disadvantage.
Blinded
A blinded creature can't see and automatically fails any ability check that requires sight. Attack rolls against the creature have advantage, and the creature's attack rolls have disadvantage.
Soren once again closes the gap, this time a little more mindful of the flames. Again he focuses his ire on the massive creature, his resolve strengthening as he strikes out twice again.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Good thinking Saya!" shouts Areus as the sleet storm hits the fire elemental and the area is covered by a thick fog.
Mindful of the slippery terrain and using the water's hissing sound, the hoplite carefully walks towards the fire elemental. "This should be close enough" says to himself as he thrusts the air in front of him four times. As he strikes Areus shouts as loud as possible hoping to distract the creature.
Dex Save:10
Movement: 15ft towards the Elemental (using 15ft of movement to get up in case I fail my Dex save)
I will use 2 Superiority Dice (Distracting Strike to cancel the disadvantage for someone else) if my attacks hit 1st Superiority Dice damage 6 2nd Superiority Dice damage 3
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tisto (Dex save = 11) tries to clamber to his feet and almost slips over but as he starts to fall a gust of wind appears out of nowhere and blows him upright (Tide of Chaos - Advantage on Dex saving throw). "Right now lets put this critter back in his box" as he raises a hand and a lighting bolt spears out of it Witch Bolt at Lvl 3 towards the elemental Attack: 23 Damage: 19. "Just like Keranos!" he says with a grin.
Wild magic = 17
The question is will Tisto be able to call upon his innate power again - 10 - yes but 38 as he once again pulls in the power of chaos his eyes glow with a level of brilliance that nobody in the party has seen before (For the next minute Tisto can see everything that is invisible).
He also takes the opportunity to once again insult the creature (Cutting words - Bardic inspiration) reducing its next attack by 6
I will use 2 Superiority Dice (Distracting Strike to cancel the disadvantage for someone else) if my attacks hit
Actually all attacks will be straight rolls because while you are all blind as so attack at disadvantage attacks against the elemental are made with advantage because it is also blinded. So they cancel, straight rolls.

But Areus sees that neither javelin does half the damage he felt they should have.
