Calisto laughs, "Its just not that easy.  Nothing in this place is easy. Perhaps we can join forces and find the black fragment together? I propose we journey through the underworld together and retrieve the black piece of the Elpis mask. You may then hand over your own pieces of the Elpis mask and I will generously let you leave — or join my army, your choice."

Saya chuckles, and quickly holds herself. "My apologies." She slowly gallops next to Areus, and whispers to him. "Is this lady in the right state of mind? She can't be serious right?"

Tisto overhearing Saya's comments responds "we obviously outnumber her and without wanting to blow our own trumpets too loudly are more powerful as well. So she obviously needs us more than we need her and probably does thinks we would genuinely want to join her. Personally don't trust her as far as I can throw her without help." He flex his somewhat puny biceps to demonstrate his point. He continues "the question is what do we want to do about it?"  

Areus shakes his head and whispers back "Yes, Saya, she is not in the right state of mind, but she may be serious about her offer. That is how she behave, she makes other people do her job then she tricks them as she tricked us before when we recovered the Ainoe mask." the hoplite continues "She can not be trusted."

The hoplite chuckles as he replies to Calisto "How generous of you to allow us to leave or join your army after retrieving the Black fragment and giving you our other fragments." Areus takes a more serious tone "You sound desperate to me Calisto. Your former master abandoned his quest for the Masks, you should do the same. For your own sake."

He addresses then Gundak and Nalke "I do not know what she has promised you, but from my personal experience with her I can say that she does not keep her promises. We helped each other before, we can do it again." 

After Areus replies to Calisto and speaks with Gundak and Nalke, she addresses them. "Hummm... Please give us a moment." She motions for her party to gather around, a little farther away from Calisto, then she address her companions. "I say we take her on her offer, since we did make a promise to Kuprix, but we do it on our terms. I would like to suggest that we do work together to find the black fragment, and once we find it, we have a showdown between us, to the death... Well, perhaps not to the death, otherwise we would be breaking our promise. At any rate. Once we find the fragment, we have a contest, and whomever wins, takes both masks. I also would like to suggest that we add a clause, where if she tries to trick us before we find the last fragment, the deal is off, and we are taking her mask from her." She looks around. "How does that sound?"

"It's a risk, but it could work Saya. We should also add that as long as we are working to find the black fragment, she does not attempt to take our fragments. If she tries to do that the deal is off." replies Areus.

"Exactly." Says replies to Areus. "We should, however, according to your reports, be prepared for any trickery when do find the final piece. Also, we use that time to figure out what is the deal with the minotaurs too."

At Saya's suggestion of a contest, Tisto's eyes light up and he says "you know I came across a game that people play which sounds like fun. The contestants stand at either end of a table about 5-6' long. At each end of the table several - the more the better - cups of wine are lined up. Then one of the contestants picks up a small stone or glass ball about this big ..." holding up the end of his thumb "... which they have to throw into a cup of wine. If they get it into the cup then the person whose cup it was has to drink the wine in a single gulp. They then get a chance to throw the stone into the other persons cup.  The game keeps going and the cups of wine keep coming until one of the contestants passes out or falls over! The locals called it beerpong and it sounds like fun. What do you say? Should we challenge Calisto to it after we get all the mask fragments?"

"You.... want to put the fate of the world. Up to a game of beerpong?" Callaphe seems insulted.

Tisto grins and says “why not it’s about as sound a practice as anything the gods do!” 

Soren chuckles "If I'm being honest, your outlandish 'beerpong' game sounds preferable to our current situation."

Gundak and Nalke look at each other and then at Calisto.  "Yes, you should help us, we do not wish to fight you but are bound to Calisto.  But surely we could aid each other.  Calisto, perhaps a better offer to these heroes of Theros?  They have come a long way and their strength would be of help to escape the underworld."

Calisto calls to you as you huddle together

"Do we fight, here and now?  Or do we aid each other to survive the underworld together?  Perhaps I would allow you to keep some of the Elpis mask fragments, or I will promise not to attack Meletis until I have conquered all other poleis."

"What exactly makes you bound to someone who wants to destroy this world?" Callaphe seems very unamused.

Areus takes a few steps towards Calisto and nodding briefly to Saya, the Arkoan says, "We search together the Black fragment." he pauses before adding "But if you or your friends attempt to trick us or try to take our fragments, the deal is off and we will resolve our dispute in a different way." The hoplite touches his shield with the tip of his spear as he says the last words.

Says stays next to Areus as he declares the group's intention to Calisto. "Leave Meletis out of this ma'am. That is the town that I swore to protect."

Soren grimaces "I swear to Thassa, if you make me break a promise to a deity I am gonna lose my s***."

While the two minotaurs are friendly towards them Callaphe gets the sense that they aren't on the parties side.  As she asks this Calisto laughs.  "Because they are bound to me by necromancy.  While I appreciate that they are trying to help you negotiate with me ultimately they will do as I command.  Dakun surely looks itching for a fight though."

"As for your request centaur, I intend to rule all of Theros.  While I will promise to leave Meletis to the end, I will not leave it unconquered.  That is the best I have to offer.  Take it or leave it."

"Look at yourself," Callaphe says. "No one is truely behind you. You have to use tricks and necromany just to get people to obey your will. There wont be a Theros to rule if you get your way, because no one will bow to someone like you no matter what power you hold."

"You go for it Callaphe - give her what for" Tisto cheers before muttering very quietly to the others "I'm not sure why the Bossman wants to keep her alive after all of this?" then he thinks "I know! Its so he can punish her eternity."

Areus takes a few steps towards Calisto and says "You will have plenty of time to reflect on what Callaphe just said to you as we search for the Black Fragment. If you do not change, you will rule, if you manage to survive until the end, on a dead Theros."
The Hoplite lets the words sink before adding "Do you wish to talk more or shall we start searching?"
