"Just let Tisto tell one of his jokes - they'll say anything to get rid of us after that."
"They will probably try to use him as fish bait-until he scares away the fish with his singing"
"Lets leave that in the realm of theory shall we"Tisto says with a smile as they enter the tavern. He quickly scans the room can he see any other Satyr's in the room?
Scanning the room, Tisto sees one satyr in the room. He sits at a table drinking with a couple of other men. Tisto notices he has long black hair and a wide smile as he laughs with those at the table with him.
Tisto walks up to the Satyr "Fillipos is my name and yours is?" He looks around the bar before continuing "a wise centaur once told me that you shouldn't judge something by its outward experience but I'm guessing the wine in this place isn't the best. I am however prepared to be pleasantly surprised. Can I get you a cup as well?"holding up two fingers and motioning to the bar keep.

Areus looks around and while the room is poorly lit and hazy with smoke he is certain there are thieves and other shady individuals. But who is who? He can't tell.
The satyr looks up at the Tisto and a broad grin fills his face.
"Ah brother!" he says with cheer, "A drink? You may certainly buy me a drink! I'm Spyro and you are right, the wine is terrible, but the mead is excellent so lets drink that instead!" More laughter from the Satyr as he offers you a seat.
"These are Basarios and Braulios, brothers who sail on the same ship as I." he says while motioning to the two men seated with him. "What's with the armored escort eh? On probation? They look like Akroan soldiers not the Reverent Army. What kind of trouble are you in?" he remarks.
“Mead it is then” Tisto replies motioning to barkeep for two cups of mead. When it arrives he reaches into his belt pouch for the correct change. “You’re right they are Akroan’s but no I’m not on probation, nor am I in any trouble yet; at least so far as I know. A sage by the name of Basarios of Deyda Harbour had a bet with a colleague whether Melitis is as old as it claims. It’s a small world and if your shipmate is from that neck of the woods he may know of him. Anyway to cut a long story short, this Basarios has come here to get proof as to the age of the city. A contact of mine put him in contact with me, as I’m known to be interested in history and know this city fairly well. Anyway I thought if we’re going to find proof of the city why not start in one of the oldest taverns in the city.”He pauses and then continues "as sailors you and your mates might be able to help me out with finding such proof - yes?"
"Me neither Nyklos, give me an enemy or monster to stab with my spear and I can do it pretty well, but information gathering is not my forte." replies Areus to his friend.
"Let's join Soren at the bar while we keep an eye on Tisto." Areus sits next to Soren, "A mead for me too" says to the barkeeper. The hoplite keeps his weapons at ready while keeping the two satyrs within his gaze.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Aye, we've sailed to Deyda Harbor though I've never met a man with my same name so I do not know who you speak of." Basarios says. "As for the city, aye, it is old. How old only the gods know. I'm just a sailor, these things are beyond my understanding, or care for that matter. You'd be best telling your friend to go to the city archives. They would have what he seeks not a bunch of sailors."
"And here I thought you wanted to speak business rather than boring talk of the age of the city." Spyro adds.
Meanwhile the others sit at the bar and drink their mead, (2) but they are left alone. The mood of the room is jovial and pleasant and no one seems to be looking for trouble.
"I'll certainly pass on the advice about the City Archives to my patron"Tisto replies to Basarios. He then turns to Spyro and asks questioningly "business exactly what sort of business were you referring to? If you're talking about shipping sheep, or dried fish across the Siren Sea to the Dakra Isles i'm probably not interested. Other business opportunities well then ....?"
"You don't strike me as someone who wants sheep shipped somewhere boring." He says as he looks over your shoulder at the others, "And with those men in tow I wonder if something more is going on, though they stand out. I figured maybe you wanted something brought into the city, or maybe out and needed a partner to help. That's what most outsiders want. But that can't be it, it's pretty obvious they will gather attention. Word of from home then? Its been many a year since I last set hoof in the Vale. Something going on there then?"

"Like you, I to have not been back to the Vale in sometime. As to your offer of assistance I, and my colleagues may need to avail ourselves of it. If we do, what is the best way to contact you?"Tisto replies
"We'll be in port for another 5 days, then we sail down the coast with stops in Oxus, Sitrium and then Phaela. From there, who knows? You can find me here or at our ship, Paralos." Spyro answers

Areus gives a better look at the tavern's patrons trying to keep an eye out for thieves and other shady individuals.

Nyklos takes note of his companion scanning the room, but makes no move to do the same. "Not our usual crowd my friend."
"I only hope the satyr is able to find information, I don't think I would even know where to begin."
The satyr looks up at the Tisto and a broad grin fills his face.

Soren sits down at the bar, and orders a mead. feeling self-conscious, he removes his sword, and places it between his knees ( so no one can steal it)

Areus, sipping his drink and looking casually in the direction of the two satyrs, tries to listen to the conversations around him.
Perception 20
Unfortunately for Areus he can't hear much of any conversation to glean any information that would be useful to him. Nothing of interest is heard.

"Thanks for that. Can I get you one more for the road?" Tisto asks motioning to the barkeep.
