PROLOGUE ADVENTURE, CHAPTER SEVEN: CHAOS IN KELVIN'S CAIRN
The package you are all to deliver next is a small, hand-carved box of teak hardwood addressed to a man named Artus Cimber in Kelvin's Cairn.
You depart from Bryn Shander at dawn, traveling out of the city along the Eastway, a wide dirt highway that connects Bryn Shander to several of the other towns. Your journey through the arctic landscape is cold but uneventful. By dawn on the third day of travel, you stand at the base of Kelvin’s Cairn prepared to climb the mountain and find a man named Artus Cimber—a legendary warrior that is supposedly investigating this mountain. You’ve heard rumors in town that he was searching for a hidden crypt somewhere on the mountainside, and that restless spirits and the living dead have been seen in these parts of late.
Ava laughs at seeing the skull, "Now this is interesting. So my new draconic friend, I'm Ava Battlehammer of House Battlehammer. Welcome to our party. It is good to make the acquaintance of one of such repute." Under her breath she whispers to the party, "It is never wise to get on a dragons bad side."
Shrek merely giggles like a little school boy at the sight of the floating dragon skull, clapping his hands with delight.
As the group heads towards Kelvin’s Cairn, once again Shrek is in his element (excuse the pun), as he rather enjoys the biting cold yet crisp air of the mountains. Standing with the group at the base of the mountain, he looks up to see if he notices any sign of life (i.e. any fires burning, tracks, etc.)? (Perception: 5) (Survival: 5)
OOC: Good lord....Shrek must be distracted by booger picking...again.

Lucas is taken aback, but grins with excitement upon seeing the floating dragon. It was for moments like this that he loved travelling around, this was epic. As they traveled to Kelvin's Cairn, Lucas would repeatedly bother Percival into letting him see/talk to the floating head. He was curious to see what it knew and had to say, plus, who knew when he would get the chance to talk with an ancient white dragon.
Once in the city, he curves his personal desire and searches for clues/directions to the crypt as well. Survival: 14
Oh, I remember her. She wasn't half-bad. A bit loud.
How enlightening.
It is quite amusing seeing her as a floating head.
You are mildly sadistic.
What else do you expect from winter, my little icy storm?
Vetis crosses her arms, watching the box with the skull. The winter wind swirls around her, ice forming on her skin as she bolsters herself slightly with the cold.
Percival does not show Lucas the dragon skull, but he does remember that he has a dragon skull that has information that may or may not be useful in this day and age. "Do you know the location of a crypt on this mountainside? It might be useful in helping us find Artus Cimber."

Sobek takes the floating dragon head in his stride, recalling his time staying with Agathon and his experience with his ancestral spirits, who he recalls as he looks towards the mountain.

Ah! Here's the way.
But first, let's make this fun.
Your first obstacle on the mountainside is when the trail narrows to a mere 12 inches across, squeezed between the sheer vertical mountainside and a 50-foot drop into a snowdrift below. The trail continues in this way for about 500 feet before the path widens again. Everyone must make a successful DC 13 Dexterity check to sidle along the cliff. Small creatures (like halflings) have advantage on this check, and Large creatures (like horses and Jeff) have disadvantage.
On a failed check, you slips from the ledge. You (or another character within 5 feet of them) can try to catch the ledge, or the falling character’s hand, by making a successful DC 13 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature plummets into the chasm. Their fall is softened slightly by the freshly fallen snow, and they take 18 damage from the fall. They can climb back up the steep slope to where they started by making a successful DC 10 Strength (Athletics) check, made with advantage if they can rappel up with a rope or a climber’s kit.
Once this obstacle is overcome, the characters continue along the winding mountain path until they reach the next obstacle.

Sobek strides forward nonchalantly, at ease in this environment, navigating the ledge with ease. He then looks for somewhere to secure the end of a rope to throw back to those following.

No stranger to heights or mountain climbing, Shrek cracks his knuckles, grabs the rope, and makes his way across the ledge-

A huge chunk of the stone buckles under Shrek's enormous weight, and plummets to the chasm below, bringing Shrek with it. He quickly tries to grab onto the wall (DC13 DEX ST: 20) but misses and manages to plummet 50' down to the bottom. "Arghghghghghgghghhgghghhhhhhh......."
DC10 Athletics check to climb back up: 17
Quite easily making it back up to the trail, Shrek dusts the snow off himself, and flexes a bit (Stone's Endurance, healing himself for 13 hp), and casually calls out to the rest of the group watching all of this unfold in horror "Shrek meant to do that...".
Seeing Shrek fall causes the genasi to be hesitant himself in crossing the ledge, but he had to do it! So he musters up a lot of courage, prays to his unknown goddess, and goes!

Kai just barely makes it, his heart rate having increased ten fold after having to cross. He begins to kiss the ground in thanks for his safe passage.

Vetis's eyes are wide as Percy grabs her hand when the tiefling begins to slip. As she regains her footing on the Cairn, she gives him a brief nod before dropping back to prior position at the back of the group, the only sign of any distress the snowflakes whirling tightly around her.
"Will do. I hope that at least some of her knowledge will be useful in today's world." Percival says as he picks up the skull.
